@wre0618 When I played that I had been playing guitar on and off for 30 years. I had been learning that song on and off for about a year. They aren't good numbers, are they? :) Work and family commitments prevent me from playing _a lot_, so someone talented and dedicated already with intermediate fingerpicking skills could learn that in a few months.

Hey, what gauge are your strings?? I wanna start playing fingerstyle and was wondering what gauge is most common and easiest to use?

@Klurpz I use standard tension strings (EJ16's), but these days I play all my fingerstyle on nylon strings. Unless you already play a lot of steel string, I recommend nylon :)

Hey Jaw! I just have one problem. For my index middle and ring finger, it sometimes gives a ...not sure how to describe it, maybe a "rough" sound? How do you make a clean sound?

@KoreaXFan I play off fingernails, so I don't get so much of the "rough" sound you mention, I instead get "overly bright" sound ;) Each finger plucks a bit differently, over time you'll work out how to get the same sound from each. It's one of those things that just sort of happens after, say, thousands of hours of practise :)

@CoolBoiiProduction I still post other videos and sometimes check in on this one. How long? Ha, I haven't "learnt" it yet! :) I had started learning it for about a year before I recorded that video, maybe putting in a hour or two of effort every two to three weeks. It comes down to what your currently skill level as to how many hours it will take. If I was to tackle it today new it would be about a 20-30 hour job (over say a month or two) - but I only play for an hour every few days.

@Drannic Ha, that tab has been downloaded about 250,000 times since I first posted it about five and half years ago - but what I really like to hear is when it inspires people to learn it (and then post a video response! ) Make no mistake, it is difficult. Approach it in stages, take days or weeks breaks from it, don't try to learn it in a few days. You don't want to lose interest if it feels all too hard. One of these days I might be able to play it well too!
