It is a song after the life of a French military : Colonel Delcourt. Usually those songs are honoring the life of the person, telling about its glorious acts or behavior during combat.
Seems that this "promotion" didn't edit a CD, too bad, this song is great very gregorian, one of the best I've heard from Saint-Cyr or EMIA. BeastieBoyUK was very lucky to be there. In the other video an officer is receiving a medal for its courageous acts under fire in Ivory Coast.

if u look exactly at history and present time u'll see that germany is the only nation which learned somthething from WW2. frenchies, as big german collaborators during the war, still massacred people in the 60s in algeria etc. americans continued to hate the blacks...the wisdom comes after doing mistakes and being defeated-GERMANY!

actually i wouldn't compare the situation of france and germany after WW2.
Since Germany didn't have any colonies it was free from this kind of problem.
The Algerian case was a very tricky one, since it had a very strong white population wich had some problems with the muslims over there.

There was also a lot of terrorism actually the war was a war against the algerian liberation force wich fought mostly through terrorism (after the war the whites started doing terrorism in algeria and france).
To go back to the subject the medal ceremony is to reward a french soldier for a heroic act in ivory coast.

You obviously dont know what the fuck you're talking about. France got rolled over in ww2 the Battle of France. French surrendered and their entire country fell to the Nazis. It wasnt until the USA entered the war under General Patton and planned the D-Day invasions that led to allies taking France back.
The Americans were fighting two wars at the time, one against Japan and the other against the Nazis. French did nothing but surrender like always. They are fucking pussies.

If it wasn't for the United States coming in to save your asses in WWII you would be waving the Swastika you pussy. This isnt the only war you lost, remember Dien Bien Pho? What happened there? You're forgetting that Americans supplied most of the allies with their equipment. Take a look back at French weapons vs. American weapons in WWII. We were also fighting two wars, one in Europe and the other in Japan.

The reason France lost was because it clearly face a strong and nationalistic Germany. The French generals and leaders were inompenetent and I beleive had they listened to DeGaulles proposal France could've stood up until reinforcements came. Only reason Us and especially Britain didn'e fall was beacuse of the distance. Also the Free French fought against Germany and Italy so they certainly didn't take it lying down

It is a song after the life of a French military : Colonel Delcourt. Usually those songs are honoring the life of the person, telling about its glorious acts or behavior during combat.
