  • 17 years old, 80's music is the only good music, the modern day music is CRAP!

  • @lukafafrenz aha...I see it!!LOL!!

  • wow, was he trying to sound like Elvis Costello or what

  • @Ombrenuit

    Bad call. Not even close.

  • the politics of this song keeps me awake. It was ballsy talking about the troubles in the mid eighties.

  • @bossmarion actually it was pretty standard in the eighties for a band to have songs with a political message, for example... ozzy, neil young, pink floyd, scorpions, frankie goes to hollywood, U2 and so on.... you can "ALMOST" pick any 80' band or solo act

  • heard this on the radio and remembered it fro the first Trailer park boys movie. Great movie. i like the song but I think if the chorus was a little catchier this woulda been a big song.

  • @let88it88be I'm guessing your too young to remember, but in it's day it WAS a big hit...in Canada.

  • FUCK SONNY! RICKY JULIAN AND BUBBLES FOR LIFE

  • trailer park boys rock i recently met randy and mr. lahey in niagara falls true canadian icons

  • Trailer park boys movie!! FTW.

  • Damn, todays music SUCKS! More 16 year olds should start watching this, and keep it going. I'm never gonna stop listening to GOOD music.

  • @codybart555 ALL THE WAY TO THE GRAVE BUDDY

  • heard this song on yhe radio the other day.of course they didn't say who it was.forgot how much i love this song.thanks kurdtss.thanks youtube.

  • Rod Stewart's lost younger brother?

  • dam right canada makes kick ass music!

  • @user98xp

PB (along with dozens of other 80s canadian pop, alt rock & even 80s r&b 'n hip-hop) probably didn't get a push in the US because either a) the Canadian label or subsidiary couldn't afford it b) English Canada was still maintaining a serious inferiority complex when it came to its own music scene (vs. the US) c) a combination of both a) & b). i'd argue Cdns are much more supportive of homegrown talent today, commercial & underground.

  • I always thought they did better because of the fake English accents, saw them in Kellowna BC back in the 80's, great band.

  • @1911a1gizzy Mark Holmes' English accent wasn't fake. He was born in Manchester, England.

  • Who doesn't remember this song

  • @lollypopstar18 PB are Canadian, hence, they didn't get much play south of the border and are not well known in the U.S.

  • @huysmanslabas

Plenty of British and Australian bands got airplay in the US (and then of course there's Rush, who're Canadian), why not these guys?

  • same here! TPB ace's

  • I wasn't born until '87, but how have I never fuckin heard this righteous tune? This shit is awesome!

  • If it weren't for Trailer Park Boys I would have never known this amazing song exits.

  • @bringbackalfnow simply amazing. I love the Trailer Park Boys but haven't seen that episode where they brought it back. I knew the song back in high school.

  • bloody hell this takes me back

  • It's on itunes

  • Has anyone heard of an 80's era metal/rock band named Croacus?

  • @Jadamo ya, its Krokus

  • @Jadamo yes and it's "Krokus" from europe!

  • @Jadamo Yeah that was Krokus. They are a metal band from Germany.

  • why can i not find this song on itunes?!?!?!? or anywhere

  • Saw a free concert at Nathan Phillips Square in Toronto- probably 1984. Stilll remember it well. I was in their fan club! (I was about 12...). Still this is a great memory

  • This is the music that will save Canada.

The economic down-turn will not affect us.

    It doesn't really matter.

    We are Canadian.

  • I saw them just before this song got big, opening for Bryan Adams. My friend and I didn't know who they were then! :) And years later I saw Kenny McLean do a little performance at the recording studio that used to be in West Edmonton Mall, and Mark Holmes was hanging around watching him too. :)

  • This song is awsome. I still have the original cassette "Standing in The Dark".

  • You got lucky to see them in those areas. When they played in Toronto it was virtually impossible to get tickets. After one of their concerts in To, one DJ said that he now knew what it must have felt like to be at a Beatles concert.

  • i seen this band in NEW BRUNSWICK MIRMACHI IN THE 80'S .WHAT A CONCERT THEY THREW IT WAS GOOD CONCERT .

  • Do not worry soon you will see these jackets in Macy's and other retail stores since 80's is coming back in fashion.
