When I was listening to the radio and it asks "Are you sitting comfortably, then we'll begin" and it played this song and Im like "fuck yeh im sitting comfortably! this song makes driving awesome
I remember the drummer worked at a Long and McQuade music store after the band...I was there trying to arrange financing for a new kit and he spent the whole time telling me how shitty the music industry was.
Awesome group they cranked out the tunes in the 80's and they are still around playing smaller venues but they have great concerts. Thanks Mark keep going buddy. We love you guys!!!!!!!!!!!
@bossmarion actually it was pretty standard in the eighties for a band to have songs with a political message, for example... ozzy, neil young, pink floyd, scorpions, frankie goes to hollywood, U2 and so on.... you can "ALMOST" pick any 80' band or solo act
heard this on the radio and remembered it fro the first Trailer park boys movie. Great movie. i like the song but I think if the chorus was a little catchier this woulda been a big song.
I was wondering why Nirvana's Heart Shaped Box video looked so familiar.. they must have seen this video because there are some similarities. Nirvana has a better video but this one holds up perfectly even after 25 years.
Saw these guys at the Niagara College year end bash at Uncle Sams in Niagara Falls and then at Kingswood in Canada's Wonderland a year and a bit later. Good shows!
PB (along with dozens of other 80s canadian pop, alt rock & even 80s r&b 'n hip-hop) probably didn't get a push in the US because either a) the Canadian label or subsidiary couldn't afford it b) English Canada was still maintaining a serious inferiority complex when it came to its own music scene (vs. the US) c) a combination of both a) & b). i'd argue Cdns are much more supportive of homegrown talent today, commercial & underground.
@bringbackalfnow simply amazing. I love the Trailer Park Boys but haven't seen that episode where they brought it back. I knew the song back in high school.
Hugh Dillion looks (AND SOUNDS) so goooooooood singing this song!!! Yeah this reminds me of Ricky rolling his eyes at Lucy at the "Gentlemen's Club!" lol The Big Dirty rocks!!!!
@JamesPatrickmenzies I love the look on BUBBLES' face when he walks in the "club"..AWESOME!! This tune actually fit very well in that scene. He cracks me up!! LOL...
Torontos home to the best bands platinum blonde rush blue rodeo triumph steppenwolf jeff healey barenaked ladies our lady peace three days grace billy talent sum41 sum kinda suck but oh well
Don't forget The Guess Who, Saga, The Spoons, Carol Pope & Rough Trade, The Payolas, Chilliwack, Chalk Circle, The Pursuit of Happiness, Loverboy, Honeymoon Suite, The Northern Pikes, Kon Kan... I'm sure I'm forgetting the rest myself, LOL!
Saw a free concert at Nathan Phillips Square in Toronto- probably 1984. Stilll remember it well. I was in their fan club! (I was about 12...). Still this is a great memory
