The boy and the girl are his conscience , the girl kind of like a little the devil and the boy an angel (hence reversed colors.)

When the girl/devil starts to play the boy in the middle does bad things. Like jumping on his bed and playing with the machines. While the boy/angel tries to stop them (slamming on the wall).

Until it goes wrong and the angel reverses the progress. Kind of like reviving the boy. (And cleaning up the mess the devil made.)

At least that's what I make of it. (:

Its the story about the sick kid in the middle. On the left you got the red room, whose girl is turning more extravagant/crazy. The religious kid on the right (the "angel") is praying, trying to study and to keep things quite, but then gives up. Chaos starts. Both "bad"(left) and "good"(right) are being reprehended for all the chaos. The religious kid then brings things back to order by turning back time and behaving instead of taking part of the chaos. The music shows that all three are in sync
