@xoxo0414 You may need a heavier moisturizer for the more dry areas of your face. I actually use a heavier moisturizer for nighttime, essentially a night cream. My skin gets the most dry during the night, especially in the winter, as the air outside and inside my home is very dry.

Sorry, I forgot to ask another question, hope you don't think I'm spamming. I saw a set of makeup brushes on sale at Target, e.l.f. brushes. Are those a good brand of brushes to use in your opinion? Again, thanks.
@pinkiecharm, thanks for replying...what I heard is that ELF have good eye brushes but bad face brushes and that won't work for me because I need face brushes, not eye ones. Any other brand you could recommend? I heard MAC are good but those are too pricey for me.
@ilurvemv Their 1 dollar line face brushes are CRAP! Don't buy them. Their $1 eye brushes are great. Then for the 3 dollar line, it flips, The face brushes are much better than the eye brushes, thats my opinion.
Thanks much for the review. I was thinking of buying this today, glad I didn't if it's not good for covering acne scars. :(
Are there any tinted moisturizers you recommend that would be good for covering acne/acne scars or would I HAVE to use foundation? I bought this ungodly expensive Philosophy stuff from Sephora but I'm looking for a cheaper alternative. Like you, I hate wearing heavy makeup so I'd rather go w/a tinted moisturizer if possible. TIA.
Hi, tank you for the review really helping.. Does it good for moisturizing your skin in winter? and which one is better this one or the physician formula Organic wear 100% Natural Origin Tinted Moisturizer? :)
@ItsNotSymmetrical I use concealer where I need it with this tinted moisturizer but I think if you use too much concealer, the overall look is going to be uneven, kinda patchy.
hi! thanks for the review; it was very helpful! :)
I am definitely going to get this product. The only concern I have is what color I should get. I have warm undertones in my skin and I'm a bit darker than I usually am right now because it's summer. In Mac msf natural, I'm the shade medium plus. Do you think I should get fair to light or light to medium?
what foundation would u recommend for dry to normal skin that needs coverage and long lasting?! please respond its for my wedding!!!? REVLON COLORSTAY? MAYBELLINE 24 HR SUPSTAY? RIMMEL LASTING FINISH? OR ANY OTHERS PLEASE ANYONE HELP!
@beautywithkat I haven't tried Rimmel's Lasting Finish so I can't comment on it but I really like Maybelline's SuperStay 24HR Makeup. It definitely lasts ALL day.
Hi Pinkie, your videos are wonderful! I tried the Cover Girl tinted moisturizer, and you are right...It's wonderful! I'm 60, and I need coverage, but makeup is just too heavy. I tried it and it took off at least 10 years from my aging face! It gave just enough coverage, left my skin moist, and I saw an improvement immediately. Over 45? Try it!
I'm 60, but most people think I'm mid 40s. I love the compliments when they find out the truth, but I am having a horrible time finding foundation coverage without it leaving wrinkle lines, or drying my skin. Would you recommend CG tinted moisturizer for me? With a little moisturizer and blush, people tell me I don't need make up, but I like to cover dark circles under my eyes, and concealers are horrible. I don't want heaviness, but I also want coverage with a dewy not greasy, look.
@amindapm1 If you only want something to even out your skintone and maybe add a little moisture, any tinted moisturizer would work well for that. However, a tinted moisturizer won't cover dark circles or really any major discolorations.
@pinkiecharm My eyes are wrinkled enough that makeup just seeps down in them making me look years older, and the concealers are either stick, which just does nothing, or they are a liquid, which accentuates the wrinkles. This doesn't cover at all? I mean, I don't need a lot of color...just need to even out the dark areas a little. You don't think it would work?
@amindapm1 There are powder concealers, which cover well. Bare Escentuals makes one, as a matter of face. The CoverGirl T/M won't cover dark circles. It's a pretty sheer tinted moisturizer and generally, tinted moisturizers don't have a lot of coverage-they're not designed to. However, if the darkness is very light, it might diminish them very little but not seeing them, I can't say for sure. I'm sorry, I don't know what else to suggest.
Im 14 and want to start wearing some coverage on my face. but i have oily skin and i'm kinda tan would you recommend this for me or another product? also i love your videos!!! they are so much help to me and your opinions are so honest. Thanks.
@46nicolemarie hey! im 15 and i didnt want to use foundation because i think its to heavy..so i bought this...i was amazed! it was so light and made me look glowing ! it looks so natural, and only a few bucks. i have a mix of oily and dry skin, and it works. If your really oily then just dont use alot, A little goes a long way..and go to the store and try the testers for your skin. I went to ulta and asked a makeup artist for help, she tested it on my skin and showed me the best one. good luck !
@46nicolemarie I wouldn't personally recommend a tinted moisturizer to someone with oily skin just because it's in their design to help add more moisture to the skin and they tend to leave the skin dewy, which can make oily skin look greasy. If you still want to use a T/M, I would probably suggest adding a bit of powder over it to help mattify the skin.
I am so excited that I found a review by you for this product since I bought it without reading any reviews! You are my go-to cosmetic reviewer! Thanks so much :)
If you apply sunscreen over the tinted moisturizer would you have to reapply the tinted moisturizer as well? (since I have to reapply sunscreen throughout the day)
@laCathiee Depends on when you apply it. If you apply the sunscreen a while after the tinted moisturiser then most likely not. But I would recommend instead of applying a liquid sunscreen you can buy transluscent powder sunscreens (available at Sephora, I cannot exactly remember the name of the product. This way you can control oil while in the sun as well as protect it. If you want more coverage throughout the day, then you can buy a regular powder that has spf in it. Hope this helps! :)
This video was sooo helpfull!! I wear foundation ( sometimes) in the winter because i have a lot of discoloration. but now that its going into the summer and im out doing a lot i needed something different. after seeing this video i went out and bought this product and it worked perfectly! Thank you so much!
hey :) so i've been wearing makeup for about a year and a half now, and i thought it was maybe time for a face makeup considering i have some redness in my cheeks. i dont want to wear a foundation so i thought about a tinted moisturizer. do you think the covergirl would be best?
@KerryanneTheLlama A tinted moisturizer isn't going to cover up any redness. They don't normally have that kind of coverage and the CoverGirl is pretty sheer.
@katalyst552 Tinted moisturizers are rarely good for oily skin unless stated that they're oil free. Laura Mercier makes an oil-free tinted moisturizer. I also think Tarte's would be good for oily skin because it isn't as dewy-looking as most other tinted moisturizers.
If you wear the CoverGirl beneath a powder, it would probably work for oily skin.
If I were to be stranded on an island, and I could only bring ONE THING, what TINTED MOISTURIZER should I get to use as foundation also? Prefer drugstore. I am trying to be a minimalist though I have mini brown spots on one cheek but no big deal. I love DEWY AND RADIANCE. I heard bad reviews about Aveeno Tinted Moisturizer, I hope this will do the trick. Thank you.
PS - Same with bronzer, is there a light/fair bronzer that is dewy (NOT SHIMMERY) and not turn orange on my skin?
@nemoryer YES! :) One of them is mark's Pro Bronzing Powder in Pro Glow, which is the shade I use. I'm not a big fan of drugstore brand tinted moisturizers overall, especially if you're looking for one with more coverage.
@nemoryer YOU ARE SO RIGHT ON THE MONEY my beloved Irene! I went to the internet and researched Mark as I've never heard of this bronzing powder before. Makeup Alley gave it ALL stars, would you believe? All 33 reviews gave it the highest points. I am AMAZED by your knowledge! Kudos! BTW, have you done a video on this? Please help me find it if you have! You always have the most amazing GLOW and RADIANCE on your face when you make these videos! Thanks. Amazing!
Thank you so much for doing this review. I have been looking at different tinted mosturizers from Sephora, etc. I think I'm going to give this a try! :)
i love your reviews! they're always the first ones to pop up when i type something in and they're the best! very informative and helpful; so thanks :)
@lipstickonthemirror1 You can definitely use your fingers to apply a tinted moisturizer and no, you don't HAVE to set it with powder, although it will help prevent the tinted moisturizer from transferring as much.
I like the review. Very specific, very informative, very helpful. The only thing that I've noticed is, you're very awkward. Take a breath, stop giggling, and keep breathing. Other than that criticism, I love everything about you. Keep up the reviews. I am going to go buy this today. ^_^
@TWCPAEB I didn't find I was at all "awkward", but just a little giggly. That happens. I'm generally a giggly kinda gal. :) Also, keep in mind this video is more than a year old. Thanks for the feedback. :)
Hi! My skin is very uneven and blotchy and it is definitely not ready to switch over to tinted moisturizers, but if I do finally get it to look decent, what is a good concealer to use with a tinted moisterizer?
first of all u have amazing skin! I was wondering what tinted moisturiers are for? could u please to a before and after video usuing aqua smoothers :) thank you sooo much <3 ur vids :)
@kristalblair Thank you! :) I posted a skincare routine a few months ago if you'd like to check that out. As far as advice for your issue, for something like uneven skin you might want to look into something specifically designed for that. I know Clinique has a line of items to help correct uneven skintone. It's tough to make any other suggestions without more information.
@invincible221 This is very different from the Tarte SO. This is much lighter in coverage and feels a bit tacky on the skin, whereas the Tarte has incredibly good coverage for a T/M and isn't at all tacky.
Why do you always mention mac products? mac mac mac mac People like me can't afford to buy stuff like that. I wanted a review on the covergirl tinted moisturizer not high end brand ones to compare them to.
@Cosmeticsare1 I don't "always mention MAC." I do use MAC as a reference or comparison because it's one of the best known high-end brands and for those who are familiar with it, comparing another product to its MAC version helps those folks better understand what I'm saying.
Just because I mention another product, doesn't negate the fact that this is still a review on the product listed in the title.
um I'm still not allowed to wear makeup so I was wondering if you can use your hands to apply this and do you have to set it with a powder and since I have physical education can this withstand sweat and heat and last does thus withstand water you know like swimming? sorry that was a lot of questions I hope you can answer these questions, I love your channel and keep up the good work:)
@serenejulep Yes you can use your clean hands to apply this product. I would suggest using a powder to set it as tinted moisturizers tend to transfer very easily. I would wear this while working out or swimming because it is not water resistant.
DOES THIS TINTED MOISTERIZER CREATE WRINKLES? I BOUGHT THIS IN LIGHT TO MEDIUM AND IT WAS A LITTLE MORE LIGHT THAN MY SKIN COLOR. THEN I BOUGHT THE MEDIUM TO DEEP AND IT WAS WAY TO DARK..THE LIGHT TO MEDIUM LOOKS A LITTLE TO LIGHT BUT WOULD BE MY COLOR IF IT WAS A LITTLE DARKER BUT NOT DARKER THAN MEDIUM TO DEEP...WHAT SHOULD I DO?
@coolfann1 Please turn off your Caps Lock. All caps equals yelling and yelling is unnecessary. Thanks.
Face makeup doesn't "create" wrinkles. If you're unsure of the color, maybe try a similar product from another brand or you can mix two of the colors together to create a color that better fits your skintone. Or you can even use a darker face powder over the lightest shade so that it better matches your skintone.
could you please do a review on Neutrogena Tone Correcting Tinted Moisture Sheer Tint SPF 30 (this is like the longest name ever but i copied it from CVS website)?
Ah, I owned this and loved it! I had the light to medium, whereas I feel like I could have gone for light. However, I'm asian, and I have yellow under-tones. Is the light shade more cool toned than light?
@SuperRiceNinja Wet n' Wild's is actually more like a foundation (light) rather than a tinted moisturizer so it IS heavier, if you want a light foundation, use Wet n' Wild's, if you want a tinted moisturizer, use this.
have you tried the laura mecier tinted moisturizer?? please let me know your thoughts on it!!! because i want a tinted moisturizer and i am either going to buy the covergirl or the laura mecier!!! :):)
Hi! Since you don't like wearing foundation bc it is heavy and thick you should try Maybelline mineral power liquid foundation. It has light to medium coverage yet it is thin and lightweight! Btw, I love your videos!
Hi! I noticed that after I put this on, it kinda makes my face shiny looking, do you know if there is there any way to fix that? Like a powder or something (except foundation)? Preferably something from drugstore? Thanks!
@pinkpuppyya Sometimes tinted moisturizers can leave a dewy finish on the skin. All you have to do is apply a light dusting of powder and that should help fix that. :)
@strawberryglitters31 I don't think CoverGirl has ever produced a paraben free product. *lol* I'm almost positive it's got at least a couple of parabens in, but I don't have my tube handy to check. You could probably find out for sure using Google.
i totaly agree with you ive tried mac and also hard candy and i realy liked hard candy alot but the tube got like this oily ring in it gross wouldn go away so i found cg and tadah!!!fantaboulis lol i love it everything like you said the shade is perfect and its hard to find my color so im stickin to that one love your vids and info very helpful
I bought this a few weeks ago, like it a lot! I use my Everyday Minerals concealer on just a few spots here and there and under my eyes and it really works out. Then I just set with a translucent powder and I'm good to go.
After watching this video I decided I wanted to try a tinted moisturizer. I'd been curious about them, but was kind of clueless. lol I got Hard Candy Sheer Envy for cheap at Walmart. I hope it has nice coverage but absorbs into my skin better than traditional foundations.
@apandalover212 Tinted moisturizers tend to transfer even with a primer or with powder. I don't often use powder but I do like to use a primer just to help it apply more smoothly.
This was just what I needed. I don't normally buy very much makeup,,. but I've been researching this stuff for a while, and this video has convinced me!!
ive been tryin to find this..i dont know y...but i cant find it...it really bothers me cuz ive wanted it for so long...so after watching this review...i want it even more...GREATTT i want it...yet i cant find it...BTW love all ur reviews..i like the way u compare it to other things it really helps <3
@thatgirllx0x yupp infact you HAVE to because of the SPF...SPF's useally (sunblock or Tinted moisturizer) wear out in 3-4 hours so if your in the sun definetly reapply it. its light so it wont look cakey at all
Tinted moisturizers aren't for me. I have the Jane Nearly Foundation tinted moisturizer and every time I use it I always have to put on a concealer over my pimples and eye circles. TMs are only good if you have normal/dry skin that doesn't have many flaws.
thank you so much for this review. i also love tinted moisturizers. have you tried the neutrogena healthy skin enhancer tinted moisturizer? how does the CG one compare to that one? thanks again!
i was watching your video last night and it really persuaded me to go buy it so i did today and absolutely love it thank you so much

@amindapm1 There are powder concealers, which cover well. Bare Escentuals makes one, as a matter of face. The CoverGirl T/M won't cover dark circles. @lipstickonthemirror1 You can definitely use your fingers to apply a tinted moisturizer and no, you don't HAVE to set it with powder, although it will help prevent the tinted moisturizer from transferring as much.
pinkiecharm 11 months ago
Have you tried Wet n Wild's tinted moisturizer in Beige?
bluefavorites 11 months ago
Didn't like this one :/ made my skin look oily/shiny when I have really dry skin, and it made the texture of my skin look really weird, in a bad way

I love love love your reviews.

I like the review. Very specific, very informative, very helpful. The only thing that I've noticed is, you're very awkward. Take a breath, stop giggling, and keep breathing. Other than that criticism, I love everything about you. Keep up the reviews. I am going to go buy this today. ^_^
TWCPAEB 1 year ago
@TWCPAEB I didn't find I was at all "awkward", but just a little giggly. That happens. I'm generally a giggly kinda gal. :) Also, keep in mind this video is more than a year old. Thanks for the feedback. :)

would this even out my skin tone if I do not need a lot, as well as big pores on my nose? i'm sorry if you've already answered this =\
Volley22101 1 year ago
@Volley22101 I don't have large pores so I can't say how this will work for that, but it does a good job at evening out my skin tone.

Did they change the packaging on these?
melissajonas705 1 year ago
Hi! My skin is very uneven and blotchy and it is definitely not ready to switch over to tinted moisturizers, but if I do finally get it to look decent, what is a good concealer to use with a tinted moisterizer?

You are such an excellent reviewer, and you have very beautiful skin :) I love all of your videos!

I am just wondering, does the mac and covergirl both has a pink-ish undertone?
ive been trying to find a tinted moisturizer that has more of a yellow tone.
Thanks!!

xxyuzixx 1 year ago
@kristalblair Thank you! :) I posted a skincare routine a few months ago if you'd like to check that out. As far as advice for your issue, for something like uneven skin you might want to look into something specifically designed for that. I know Clinique has a line of items to help correct uneven skintone. It's tough to make any other suggestions without more information.

how does this compare to the tarte smooth operator? i was thinking of getting that one but i picked this up to try at walmart cause it was cheap
invincible221 1 year ago
@invincible221 This is very different from the Tarte SO. This is much lighter in coverage and feels a bit tacky on the skin, whereas the Tarte has incredibly good coverage for a T/M and isn't at all tacky.
pinkiecharm 1 year ago
@pinkiecharm thanks! i think i'm going to end up trying the tarte one. I do like the way the cover girl one looks but I don't like the way it feels

just got this in two different colors because i was unsure and they both looked fine on.

Why do you always mention mac products? mac mac mac mac People like me can't afford to buy stuff like that. I wanted a review on the covergirl tinted moisturizer not high end brand ones to compare them to.
Cosmeticsare1 1 year ago
@Cosmeticsare1 I don't "always mention MAC." I do use MAC as a reference or comparison because it's one of the best known high-end brands and for those who are familiar with it, comparing another product to its MAC version helps those folks better understand what I'm saying.
Just because I mention another product, doesn't negate the fact that this is still a review on the product listed in the title.
pinkiecharm 1 year ago
um I'm still not allowed to wear makeup so I was wondering if you can use your hands to apply this and do you have to set it with a powder and since I have physical education can this withstand sweat and heat and last does thus withstand water you know like swimming? sorry that was a lot of questions I hope you can answer these questions, I love your channel and keep up the good work:)
serenejulep 1 year ago
@serenejulep Yes you can use your clean hands to apply this product. I would suggest using a powder to set it as tinted moisturizers tend to transfer very easily. I would wear this while working out or swimming because it is not water resistant.

where did you get the cover girl tinted moisturizer?

DOES THIS TINTED MOISTERIZER CREATE WRINKLES? I BOUGHT THIS IN LIGHT TO MEDIUM AND IT WAS A LITTLE MORE LIGHT THAN MY SKIN COLOR. THEN I BOUGHT THE MEDIUM TO DEEP AND IT WAS WAY TO DARK..THE LIGHT TO MEDIUM LOOKS A LITTLE TO LIGHT BUT WOULD BE MY COLOR IF IT WAS A LITTLE DARKER BUT NOT DARKER THAN MEDIUM TO DEEP...WHAT SHOULD I DO?
coolfann1 1 year ago
@coolfann1 Please turn off your Caps Lock. All caps equals yelling and yelling is unnecessary. Thanks.
Face makeup doesn't "create" wrinkles. If you're unsure of the color, maybe try a similar product from another brand or you can mix two of the colors together to create a color that better fits your skintone. Or you can even use a darker face powder over the lightest shade so that it better matches your skintone.

Ah, I owned this and loved it! I had the light to medium, whereas I feel like I could have gone for light. However, I'm asian, and I have yellow under-tones. Is the light shade more cool toned than light?

@romanticists I think they all have a warm undertone.

SuperRiceNinja 1 year ago
would you compare this to wet n wild's sheer tinted moisturizer? lots of people say this is great and it cost less than CG too
SuperRiceNinja 1 year ago
@SuperRiceNinja Wet n' Wild's is actually more like a foundation (light) rather than a tinted moisturizer so it IS heavier, if you want a light foundation, use Wet n' Wild's, if you want a tinted moisturizer, use this.

whats the best drugstore powder for oily skin?

@agnethapoopiehead haha ive tried so many but one of the best that i rele like is dream matte powder by maybelline

Hi! I noticed that after I put this on, it kinda makes my face shiny looking, do you know if there is there any way to fix that? Like a powder or something (except foundation)? Preferably something from drugstore? Thanks!
pinkpuppyya 1 year ago
@pinkpuppyya Sometimes tinted moisturizers can leave a dewy finish on the skin. All you have to do is apply a light dusting of powder and that should help fix that. :)

@strawberryglitters31 I don't think CoverGirl has ever produced a paraben free product. *lol* I'm almost positive it's got at least a couple of parabens in, but I don't have my tube handy to check. You could probably find out for sure using Google.

do you need to set it with anything? or use a primer?
apandalover212 1 year ago
@apandalover212 Tinted moisturizers tend to transfer even with a primer or with powder. I don't often use powder but I do like to use a primer just to help it apply more smoothly.

can u reapply tinted moisturizers during the day?
thatgirllx0x 1 year ago
@thatgirllx0x yupp infact you HAVE to because of the SPF...SPF's useally (sunblock or Tinted moisturizer) wear out in 3-4 hours so if your in the sun definetly reapply it. its light so it wont look cakey at all

Tinted moisturizers aren't for me. I have the Jane Nearly Foundation tinted moisturizer and every time I use it I always have to put on a concealer over my pimples and eye circles. TMs are only good if you have normal/dry skin that doesn't have many flaws.
