Before you start buying the equipment after watching band of brothers you should spend your first money in books about the equipment and not buy it because you saw it in a video.

And reenacting is not: buy the uniform and show all your stuff. Suffering in a foxhole at night waiting for some jerry that won't come looks more like it.

And I know my nickname is 506th but, I reenact Airborne 502nd and 1st Marines now.

i have no clue about canada but they had some d-day commemorations near me last year. they had an airborne reenactment and they jumped out of a DC-3 (because I don't think we have any C-47's available in New Zealand) but it was awesome. Also at the start of February the same group is coming again so they'll probly chute in again =] they have to use the aviation club chutes tho so they're like red and pink lol. but yeah most good groups do jump

No you can't use an M1 Helmet. You need to use an M1C or M2 Paratrooper Helmet if you are planning on doing Airborne. And do some research on what you need for Earlier and Late War Impressions.

in early WWII they used pistols to jump until the m1 carbine was made (forget date) and they used that as a + of the pistol but - garand...

The Colt 1911, and the revolvers and other models were made as a Sidearm for soldiers. It was more of a "back up" and not the main weapon. Earlier in the war it was issued mostly to officers and later on in the war, NCO's and sometimes Pfc's. and Pvt's. got them.

During Normandy nearly everyone in the 101st had Colt 1911's.

Okay. That is wrong. They had M1903 Rifles, M1 Garands, M1 Carbines. Later on the M3 Grease Gun, Thompson version SMG's, and BAR's were added. But they had weapons in the beginning.

soldier of fortune isnt that expensive guys, you get what you pay for. you want a decent, proper, original looking uniform, that wont fall apart when you put it on, you have to pay for it.

I avoid SoF like the plague (except for the Corcorans and Maybe their M42s)

Plus its better to buy original webbing, its vastly better quality and not orange like the modern repro stuff.

So you wont run in to the FARB concept, You might want to do some research before buying what you want for reenacting. First start with what unit you will be joining. For instance i am with the 101st But with the 501st Para Infantre Regement. you might be able to order from the cmp, but i don't know about overseas shipping or the laws you have in the UK, but the M1 Carbine is just as good for reenacting, and cheaper, so buy one of those if you get the chance before an M1, but it's your choice
