Astounding version of a great song. I've been championing Pugwash to my mates here in Dublin for years now. It saddens me that they are so criminally underappreciated. Hopefully with the Andy Partridge label deal and the Duckworth Lewis Method they'll finally get the exposure they so thoroughly deserve!
PS I also must thank them for bringing XTC guitar deity Dave Gregory onstage in Whelans a couple of years back.
not a surprise as I read somewhere that apparently a young Brian May met Jeff Lynne when he was in the Idle Race to learn how he got some of his guitar sounds
Wow congratulations!!it sounds so fresh even better than the original.
What a great and underrated genius Jeff Lynne is!! I have everything available of his work, years of buying records and internet digging, can´t wait for a new record. come on Jeff release something!!!
I know everyone has said this but it IS awesome, and so faithful to Jeff Lynne's original. You guys are fantastic...how about Girl At The Window next!!
You guys are the bomb, I love this song, and The Idle race along with Jeff Lynne, and I'm 17, how many people my age even know about the Idle race? not too many, Awesome job! This video kicked ass!
Just Brilliant !! Birthday Party next, then how about The lady Who Said She Could Fly, then.. sod it, just do the lot, No one can do it this good, apart from, of course, the mighty Lynne god himself bow, grovel, grovel, ouch my knees...
Ah splendid! The love for the tune obviously shines through in the performance! I wonder if you'll try and approximate the huge boingy bass guitar sound of the original during the final mixing stage. I'm greatly looking forward to the new album!
Thomas, this is fantastic! I've listened to it 55 times in a row, and counting. I'll have to let Mr. Lynne know about it. Can't wait for the album! xo Lynn
This is awesome if I do say so myself!! And what a sexy group of geezers ;-) Seriously though, I'm so proud to have finally done a version of this, I love the song so much!! I just wanted to thank the genius of Mr.Peter Fitzpatrick up here for doing all this for fun. What a talent!!
Great cover, really does the original Jeff Lynne song justice. Well done.

All this AND the ahem 'shabbyroad' studios setting with Neil in a psychadelic shirt and a John Lennon 1967 haircut! Ahh bliss.

What a pleasant surprise out of YouTube. I love bands that do more than just imitate the original, and add something of their own to a song. Bravo!
