@kwanhui1990 Sorry, speed - great technique, nothing else - sounds like a computer played it - no climax at 2:31 leading to the main theme among other things - there are counter melodies all over - you don't hear those - musicianship is required here - even Slenczynska does a better job. You haven't heard enough of the great pianists of the past to offer an opinion many of whom I heard in public including Brailowsky. This is why I don't like commenting on anything - too many baby responses.
@CD122344 really... musicianship is required? lol I play this song... why don't u upload ur interpretation and I ensure you that I will upload my playing.
@CD122344 Sorry if I am rude in my reply, I feel you need to be more humble... any great pianist would not criticize that any one of these grand masters is "bad", but only that one interpretation is preferred, because he'd understand that to play a song in this level'd require over 50 hours of practice at the minimum.
@kwanhui1990 50 hours!? A pianist such as Yundi shouldn't need 50 hours to master this piece. Since the piece has a lot of similarities to Op. 10 No. 2 and Op. 10 No. 12 among others, he should've be able to learn it fairly easy.
@CD122344 Like you, I also refrain from debating which pianist is "better". This topic is truly an area of taste which is different from individual to individual and there is really no fruit wouldn't u agree?
Doesn't take much convincing that this piece is entitled Winter Wind. The speed at which the fingers ae moving along the keyboard is just amazing. I thin Youndi has the best version
Capito? non so l'italiano.
I'm cold.

Notes are there and that's all. It's bland - a run through - no expression! Listen to Lhevinne's recording. You'll hear the difference.

@CD122344 both have expressions of course, different expressions. One has the expression that you prefer.
