Yes you are correct on the first part! But the reason Christians in Spain were able to conqour the muslim empire in the southern part of the pennisula is because the muslims were becoming increasingly radical and were starting to decline both economically and culturally.

while I was in Spain, the morroccons are the highest group of immigrants and I used to see that many were wearing western clothing, shorts, short cut sleeves shirts, no hats, and their wives are all covered with their sharias carrying their children in their arms (women) or handling the stroller. I also saw that they don't eat pork, but then, they sure like to smoke pot and drink any type of alcoholic beverage, beer, whisky etc.

while I was in Tanger, I also saw that men don't even carry their children in their arms, or carry them in their strollers, the women does the whole job, also, in the restaurants you don't see any women inside, most of them are men, smoking some interesting "flavor" pipes, and drinking tea. And in the beach you can't wear a bikini set or else the police will come over and send you to prison. and that's in Morrocco, just imagine in Irak, Saudi Arabia.

I've been in Morroco and the oldest people wouldnt even show their face but the eyes in the streets wearing the sharia, while the younger ones seem not to wear the sharia (veil), but once they get marry their husbands (most of them) force them to wear the sharia, and if not, sometimes they get kicked by their husbands, and that's in Morrocco, not so strict like in Saudi Arabia, and divorce it's an ok for men demanding but not ok for a woman, those are morrocon laws
