  • 2:16 is the best thing in the world. Those three sound like a section of 30.

  • JUST THE RIGHT TEMPO ACCORDING TO ORCHESTRAL VERSIONS , FASTER WOULD LOSE DETAIL , GREAT PLAYING FOR A DIFFICULT ARRANGEMENT. SHOSTAKOVICH WORKS VERY WELL FOR BRASS BANDS

  • I've played this, but in a much faster tempo, it's a good piece :)

  • I don't think you understand how badly I want to play this.

  • Even though I'm a woodwind player, I love this!

Played this at NJ All-State '11.

  • Hey look, it's Jens Lindemann fielding the flugelhorn!

  • Magnificent!

    Thanks for posting

  • go mark gould!

  • Excellent............no cimbalo ? no Wagner tubas?

    no ophicleide ?

  • 2:16 is one of my favorite moments in all Shostakovich. Sounding great everyone! Good to see Demondrae in there, as well.

  • great sounding ensemble. they pull of this very technically difficult piece pretty well. unfortunately, the tempo slows quite a bit in the louder section a little past the halfway point. besides that, this is a great performance

  • AMAZING. im totally shocked that a brass band can play something that are for strings and wind at such a difficulty. 2:07! the upper trumpets!

and by the way, it should be allegro but not scherzo

  • Superb performance! Great technique and sound.

  • Are these guys ever coming over to England? I'd love to see them live...

  • Ok, these guys are smokin,' that's all I have to say!

  • Amazing!!

  • We gratefully and finally acknowledge the United States has a brass band that rivals the Brits!! Thank the Maker; our great country may be on the path to cultural redemption! Great job people and might I humbly say thank you!

  • There's stil a couple of high class imports in the band. Steve Mead and "Il Duce" (Peter Roberts).

  • And Andrew Duncan on Bass representing Scotland

  • In Battle Creek, Harper Creek High School

  • BRAVO!

  • I think in the Spring of 2006.

  • When and where is this performance?
