Canada and Britain both have single payer, and the results are longer waits for treatment and health care rationing. I feel the solution lies in tort and insurance reforms. Palin and her supporters are allowed their beliefs, as I am mine, as you are yours. Reforms are needed, but I don't believe this legislation is the answer.
So you're campaigning against something that doesn't exist. Single payer does not exist. It is not in this bill. I wish it would. And Barney Frank is not aligned with anything close to a majority in congress, so why does his statement have any degree of validity. I believe everyone has a right to healthcare like the fire dept or police or military.
There are social responsibilities tied to being a member of society and these should include taking better care of yourself.
Why is this one function apart from those other essential services?
Therefore, fund it and provide the services.
If someone wants to pay extra for home security they can.
If someone wants additional medical protection they can buy it.

That's because they have better health care. The health care reform is meant to help the poor, not the rich. Some people have no health insurance at all. If you're poor, and your 8 year old daughter needs emergency surgery, you'll end up paying that hospital bill for the next ten years, trapped in poverty.
Best of all. If you want better health care than what the government provides, you'll notice that the price of being insured privately goes down a lot, as they'll have to be more competitive.

My friend was told by an insurance company here in the United States that she would have to wait 6 months for a Cancer test. When my friend asked why, the insurance company said "Because we (The insurance company) said so."

Not paranoid, just highly skeptical. Obama has stated in previous vids that he wanted single payer. Barney Frank stated in a recent video that current legislation was a bridge to single payer. Single payer is automatic enrollment. That's where we're headed for.

It's not on the table NOW, but remember the comment I made earlier concerning Barney Frank. He said this bill could be used as a bridge to single payer. Canada and Britain both have single payer, and the results are longer waits for treatment and health care rationing. I feel the solution lies in tort and insurance reforms. Palin and her supporters are allowed their beliefs, as I am mine, as you are yours. Reforms are needed, but I don't believe this legislation is the answer.

And Barney Frank is not aligned with anything close to a majority in congress, so why does his statement have any degree of validity. That doesn't exist YET, but inevitably will, in my view. No supporter (other than a few like Frank) would mention it, for fear of losing what support is left for this bill. Fear, no; healthy skepticism of a government take-over of health care, certainly. Another big issue for me: the spending is going to amount to trillions, and my concern is that sooner or later, the Chinese will refuse to subsidize the massive debt this bill will generate. The result: crash of the dollar & massive inflation.

The system is 100% profit driven now, with 30% of the "profit" going to the insurance companies CEO and shareholders. What am I getting for the 30% besides beaurocrats getting tween me and my doctor?

I'll tell you what isn't nice. Loading down countless future generations of Americans with massive debt as far as the eye can see because of this monstrosity of a bill. If this bill is passed and the Chinese refuse to subsidize the huge debt that ensues, the dollar will crash and massive inflation result. Smaller reforms to help the uninsured are fine, but there's no sense in reinventing the wheel here. This bill is nothing short of one of the most massive spending bills in U.S. history.
