I liked the monster's new look. I hated how corny the older version one was. However. Our version was a pansy, and therefore fails as godzilla. BUT That being said, it still beats the crap out of the previous versions in terms of non cheesy-ness.
I like the movie, but i treat it as a separate monster movie entirely to the Japanese Godzilla. As a movie alone, I think this is the best godzilla movie. Except for the original Gojira 1954, since it had a message and was state of the art in its time, and also it was badass. But in general overall I think that the Japanese Godzilla is better.

There is a big difference between the american Godzilla and the Japanese Godzilla as you can see. I don't understand if this is a whole different Godzilla or not. I'm guessing it is because it is way to different from the other Godzilla to be the same. I like the way this Godzilla looks and acts. The other Godzilla just wiggles his arms around and breathed fire.
Not many people like this movie because all the monster did in every scene was run. The movie was good up until after Zilla made his appearance. From there it was nothing but the coward chicken lizard and yapping between Nick and his former airhead girlfriend.

I LOVED that movie so much. However I do think that there biggest mistake was naming the movie and the creature Godzilla. The movie was ana AMAZING movie but not a good Godzilla movie. If you think about they kind of follow the same design. Both were modeled after dinosaurs only in the 50's dinosaurs were thought to stand upright, but now we know that they walked like birds. I like Zilla better because he more of an animal, something you could beleive. Godzilla is also a great monster.

I actually did enjoy this film. I will admit that it could've been a LOT better, but it was still enjoyable fun. I would like to see the franchise revisited by americans again, (even though the director was french), I would like to see another american renderation of the series. I also wish they would show more realistic versions of the other japanese monsters that "Godzilla" would battle. Although I guess that's what the animated series was for.
Agreed. The old fat one looked like it was eating pie all the time. This one also was more realistic in one matter, such as the fact that it was not invincible and could die, unlike the old magic fattie. Though I do give the old one some credits, as some of the old godzilla movies were great in story line, but what always got me was that it always had the old one ignoring giant missle hiting it and not even trying to avoid them. It rarely got hurt, and usually almost immediately healed
It's better than awesome! I have the DVD because I like it so much.

I understand that you like this movie, and unlike some people you were mature of reminding everyone that is your opinion. As much as I HATE THIS PIECE OF SHIT MOVIE and as nothing to do with the REAL Godzilla, It has (unfortunately) become a guilty pleasure. ONLY because I like Broderick and Reno, and the soundtrack wasn't so bad either. Other than that, the movie was shit. YET WHY DO I KEEP WATCHING IT?!? lol.

I like the american version better, Behavior and appearence wise its more realistic if an Iguana became 100 foot tall and gained the ability to breathe fire. I'm sure it wouldn't go around with a menacing look on its face fighting giant moths. yea the japanese versions much stronger but its a made up creature, whatever facts you give for either version including mine above wouldn't really matter anyway, its a MADE UP creature, they could make them as strong or weak as the wanted. fiction.

Yea. Its not blue like the orginal Gozilla its red and looks more like fire instead of a firely blue stream. It looks more like a flamethrower.

yeah, and in the movie it showed that it wasn't really breathing fire, it was just breathing on cars and made the gas tanks explode and then THAT would catch fire. idk y, who knew Fish Breath was so flamable?

There is a big difference between the american Godzilla and the Japanese Godzilla as you can see. I don't understand if this is a whole different Godzilla or not. I'm guessing it is because it is way to different from the other Godzilla to be the same. I like the way this Godzilla looks and acts. The other Godzilla just wiggles his arms around and breathed fire.

Not many people like this movie because all the monster did in every scene was run. The movie was good up until after Zilla made his appearance. From there it was nothing but the coward chicken lizard and yapping between Nick and his former airhead girlfriend.

I LOVED that movie so much. However I do think that there biggest mistake was naming the movie and the creature Godzilla. The movie was ana AMAZING movie but not a good Godzilla movie. The movie totally redisigned Godzilla, took away some of its abilities and gave it a new personality so I can understand why fans of the original Godzilla would be disappointed.

Giant lizard appears because of nuclear radiation, Rampages through the city, Scientist are trying to find a way to defeat it, and at the end the humans win. The only difference between the two was that this one had the part with the nest.

If you think about they kind of follow the same design. Both were modeled after dinosaurs only in the 50's dinosaurs were thought to stand upright, but now we know that they walked like birds. I like Zilla better because he more of an animal, something you could beleive. Godzilla is also a great monster.

I actually did enjoy this film. I will admit that it could've been a LOT better, but it was still enjoyable fun. I would like to see the franchise revisited by americans again, (even though the director was french), I would like to see another american renderation of the series. I also wish they would show more realistic versions of the other japanese monsters that "Godzilla" would battle. Although I guess that's what the animated series was for.

Agreed. The old fat one looked like it was eating pie all the time. This one also was more realistic in one matter, such as the fact that it was not invincible and could die, unlike the old magic fattie. Though I do give the old one some credits, as some of the old godzilla movies were great in story line, but what always got me was that it always had the old one ignoring giant missle hiting it and not even trying to avoid them. It rarely got hurt, and usually almost immediately healed
