Paul Washer is doing his part for people to understand what is at stake. Someone has to genuine seek God and when they realize they are a sinner who has no hope for salvation other than the blood of Christ than that's when the holy sprit saves. The only proof of salvation is your fruit and your hatred for sin mainly in your own life.
God through Christ saved us and gave new birth to our dead spirit NOT to our flesh! The flesh must die because of sin. You can NOT save the flesh (by making it spiritual that is works of the flesh) the flesh must die. The newness of life is of spirit NOT the flesh.

Thank God for Paul Washer! I learned a lot. Hi, don't be discouraged. I believe that God loves you and wants to Save you and that's what St Paul said to Timothy that God wants all to come to His knowledge and that all would be Saved. hi, i also had the same problem as you. i used to have problems overcoming my sins too. i would pray and ask for deliverence and still found myself doing the same things. The thing that helped me was the realization of the God's judgement. that he sees sin as exceedingly sinful. that all liars will be tossed in the lake of fire. that thieves and adulterers and murders will not enter heaven. then i saw the words of Jesus that says lust is the same as adultery and hatred is the same as murder.
then I compared myself to those same standards and saw that I was guilty as charged. I realized that God is so holy and so righteous that he will judge right down the very thoughts as well as the deeds. nothing is hidden and all will be revealed if you really want to see a true revelation of god's judgement see revelation 20:11 and just meditate on it and you will see the need to be made right with God.
Keep crying out to Him. He will give you His Son Jesus. Don't give up. When we get something too easy we don't appreciate it as much. When you get Jesus you will know Him in a way that many have not. Don't give up. He already did His part at the cross. Now our part is to ask Him and keep asking Him to come into our hearts that He may change us according to His image and likeness.
He will come to you soon or later. Keep on being hopeless. You will understand what I just said later. You have to realize that even the hopelessness you have now is given by God to plant a desire to have Him in your heart. Oh how blessed are you.

Well, we are to pray for our enemies and love them, but if you're doing neither of these, it certainly isn't a fruit of the Spirit. The fact that you're concerned that you aren't, though, is. Would someone who is not regenerate be upset that they're not doing as God wants? No. They would stay loving their sin and actually deny that they have sin. I think that when God convincts you of a particular sin, in your case, hate, it is important to tell God exactly what you have been telling us. He knows your heart better than anyone else. Cry out to Him, and read the Bible, and keep on praying until He answers. Yes, it is hard. Yes, it is a painful process, but only this way God will bring something glorious out of this. Thank God that He showed you your sin, and ask Him to help you with it-He will, He promised that!

For example, if you love babies, you hate abortion. If love is the fulfillment of the law, sin is the transgression of the law, and you are love (God), you hate sin.
Yes, I agree. Christians should hate whatever God hates, no question about it. But my comment was about hate towards others-non-biblical hate. I think that it is important to not try to suffocate that conviction, but rather go to God who is the Only One who can deal with this kind of sin. It is important to not kill a conviction that God gives you. From what I read, Severion is not complaining about hating something that God hates-that shouldn't make him feel guilty, but rather good.
