I think Mariah loves to experiment with her voice. She'll always give a different performance with the same song, so it gives you the feel like its a new song.
I learned how to sing myself and I have a great talent on listening closely. This performance was scrachy but as a singer you do have bad days, but that doesn´t mean that you are going to loose your voice or even loose your talent. Mariah is unique so that means different than others. She always sang on a very difficult way. She sang the song in the right key on that night. That was one of her easier song. I can even sing it myself and that means somethin because I don't come close to Mariah.

Common sense will tell you that someone who has been singing professionally for about 20 yrs now will not sound the same as they used. Its just how it is. Unless ya done public vocals live u have no idea what u talki about. This is a great performance live. The problem is - what you get used to is the touched up, computerised version. this was a truly good performance. x

I used to enjoy Mariah in the very beginning of her career, but I believe she should give her voice a rest. I think so many high notes has strained her to almost unrepair....She might want to retrain her voice with a very good vocal coach if she wants to sing in the years to come....This is not a mean post...it's a post of grave concern. Take a break Mariah! We still love you, at least, I know I still do. Take care of yourself!

Common sense will tell you that someone who has been singing professionally for about 20 yrs now will not sound the same as they used. Its just how it is. Simple as that, like someone has already said if you early 90's Mariah go and listen to early 90's Mariah or just appriciate that she still has a gift and is using it the best she can despite the set backs. However this was a great performance especially from 3:08 to the end

mariah does not lip the song. mariah has a seven octive voice. mariah can still hit those notes when she wants, trust. its just mariah concentrates too hard on trying to make it sound good instead of singing with emotions like how she use to. Mariah is really insercure, especially since for the past decade, everybody wants to talk about her singing everytime she performs live, lik their waiting for that one note she cant hit, then their lik... oop she cant sing. mariah just has to b secure

I know she didn't. Read it again dumbass. If you actually use your eyes you'll be able to see that she sings "So" at the time I previously posted. But obviously, the pre-recorded last chorus doesn't have that in, so nothing came out and she looked scared as if she had messed up. If she were singing live that "So" would have been sounded, but it wasn't. That's what you call forgetting what is on a pre-recorded track.
