I find it funny how Edmonton and their fans and announcers bitched and moaned about Boogaard being a talentless goon, but the second they signed Steve MacIntyre, they suddenly realized the spot in the game for enforcers and the important role they play. And Boogaard's really stepped up his game this year. He isn't head hunting as much, but actually forechecking and actually getting involved crashing the net and making some opportunities.
The first call I'll agree with. But the second penalty was ridiculous. High sticking? The announcers were bad too. The puck was gone for 3 seconds? I only counted 2, and the video was in slow motion. So it would be more like 1, or 1 1/2 seconds.

In the old NHL, I could see where he fit in..but I thought the NHL redesigned the game so that there would be no room for players like this.
Scorers score , playmakers set up goals, Guys like boogaard do neither , but they do contribute. When a high scoring line of an opponent is on the ice and boogaard is there, they'll have to keep an eye out for him and that breaks concentration. And i disagree with the fact that he hits to injure, A lot of his hits are clean and good , But look bad because the other guy is hitting the ice so hard but that's simply cause of the physical difference, Boogaard does contribute .
I completely agree that Kevin Quinn and Ray Ferarro are perhaps the Worst commentators EVER!!! But Boogaard is still possibly the WORST player in the league. All he does is head hunt and attempt to injure.
I love how there are only two sets of announcers that complain about Boogaard. Ferraro bitches and moans just like the candy ass piece of shit he was as a player. Boogs does the same shit that many, many other players pull. Sucks for them he is so damn big and strong. And Brian Gayward from the ducks bitches all the time. With all the time Gayward spent on the bench you'd think he could provide some actual insight into the game....
yeah when you have the puck. If you think his hit on Hemsky was clean your an idiot, guys like boogard have no place in the NHL. 1 assist last year. Nice career.

The cross check to the head was a penalty. Shouldn't have been called a high-stick though.
