  • Too bad the GBA had the PSP debut four years into its lifespan.

  • I want a fucking leaked beta of this shit. Just to say I played one of the possibly greatest GBA games of all time

  • OMG ITS NOVA FROM STARCRAFT!!!!!

  • why do u guys think this is goodlooking ?

  • the two top comments are the same....

  • wow this looks like it was from the same creators of iridion....

  • This, the Shantae port, and Resident Evil 2, should have never been canceled GBA games

  • 1:50

    M. Bates?

    Wonder what that stands for...

  • i need to say it...DAT ASS!

  • Damn it, this game looks badass!! This is the best use of raycasting I've ever seen on the system!!

  • Now that I look at the video closely, I can say that this isn't actually TRUE 3D! It uses the same rendering methods as Doom and Duke3D (Both of those games aren't technically 3D either)

  • @xilefian That's pretty obvious, man. But yes, it is TRULY 3D in the fact that it does contain actually rendered, 3D geometric figures (mainly cubes and rectangular prisms) but I understand what you mean; the characters are, in fact, all sprites.

  • @PixieStixxandAdderal No, it isn't 3D full stop! I program these engines, it's just really clever maths. There is no Z axis at all in this world, there is only X and Y for the map and objects then on the screen there's translated X and Y, a true 3D engine would have more than two vertexes to a face

  • @xilefian Huh. Well, damn. That all sounds pretty legit.

But this game looks sweet, I wish it got a release, I woulda played the balls out of it.

  • @xilefian Yup. Just like DOOM.

  • Her sprite is OBNOXIOUS. The game looks cool, though! :D

  • looks like a snes game/n64 graphics but im not surprised. I have mario kart and its real 3d!

  • Doesn't look like real 3D to me

  • @GhostSniper3081 Characters and objects are 2D sprites. The environment is poligon graphics. So at least the environment is real 3D. Don't forget, it's a GBA. And those graphics are just amazing for a GBA.

  • @DeweyTheTotodile It does look good, but looks like the fake 3D of games like Doom and Duke 3D

  • @GhostSniper3081 They actually have all polygone graphics so they're real 3D. Like I said: only objects and character sprites are 2D in those games. Fake 3D is mode 7 graphics like Mario Kart (Snes, GBA) or Pilot Wings for the Snes. Looking good but not real 3D.

  • This game has some AWESOME Drum and Bass! ^^

  • OH GOD SO MANY PIXELS

  • 3D just doesn't work on GBA

  • this is true 3d but since the gba lack a 3d chip it has to use most of it,s 32bit power to create 3d,it atleast has enough power left for mono audio.

if the gba dit had a 3d chip it had way more power left for other things like colision detection, physics more special effects etc,,and in hicher quality, and stereo sound.

  • apparently, this game is being remade for the Dreamcast

    hope it's true

  • @Minority119 whuh?

  • @Poever yeah, there's an entry of it in the Indie Dreams Wikia =P

  • 0:18 MEDIC!

  • @utmosttaco lol XD

  • this looks good for a gba game.... y was it canceled?

  • lol, good? this looks like shit.

  • @Forthias its already good for a GBA...not your PS3...^^

  • @tingsh321 I understand its GBA, it still dosn't look that great... Play to your platforms strong points, like side-scrollers or classic-style rpgs. The psuedo-3D they tried to pull off on the GBA wasn't any better than it was on the Snes or the Genesis (which the gba had pretty much equivelant specs to) lol. Try playing Stunt Race FX, the only game that tried to do 3D and pulled it off, IMO, was Star Fox.

  • sweet looking game, I found her virtual buttocks a bit distracting :D

  • Why they do that? Are they fucking MAD?

  • because they get lazy and dont want to finish them. plus the gba is obsolete.

  • Very nice engine. You can see the mirrors at 2:00 after she kills that guy.

Looks like it uses a BSP to render the environment, since all the doors open upwards. It's a shame it was cancelled it was very cool and cinematic.

  • these graphics are sick as fuck for GBA

  • LOL @ "Dr. James Taylor". Does he recite the lyrics to "Handy Man"?

Also, this game reminds me of Steel Harbinger for Playstation.

  • this is just a simple raycaster engine

  • I got few answer why it failed...

There were too many sprites and scripts and text!

So there werent many spaces for the whole story,we even see subway!

Also many effects, more then Doom 2 or even DN:A also many levels and skyboxes, many things were inside, lot of features...

It was too big even with a big compilation, also if they made for GBA then why they dint made an cell/mobile phone version of the game?

  • They should've made a GBA Tomb Raider game like this.

  • would have been nice to see what the gba could actually pull off; Nintendo themselves said 3d was impossible, but duke advanced was good all things considered.

Would have been interesting at least to see how far a 3rd party could push the hardware. The enigma is why Nintendo never bothers to push their own hardware; The DS library was crap for the first year, you had rehashed mario 64 and a bunch of flash type games, and nothing else. when the hardware starts to get pushed, its abandoned.

  • aaahaha epic girl character win !

  • Neat concept, but very unoriginal. They should have thought of a more simple concept that had less detail (Simple texture and Geometrical shapes). Otherwise you get THIS kind of ugly.

  • Man, Nova can't catch a break. First Radium, then Starcraft Ghost...

  • from what year is that hahahahahaha!

  • nice

  • Hm... in my opinion i doesn't look good, seem just like a repetitive killing game.

I like games with a lot of things you can do.

  • Holy shit, I saw this in a magazine. Damn what was it!!!?

  • This actually looked really promising. Too bad the demo was never released.

  • DAT ASS

  • Haha, I remember being pretty hyped about these GBA tech demos and the possibilities they'd bring to future GBA games back in the day, but these look pretty pathetic and quite unusable by todays standards:D Still, a nice effort on the GBA hardware...

  • Reminds me of a Third Person DOOM

  • Actually reminds me of the very first MDK.

  • had this beta been leaked? i'd like to try it

  • the graphics actually remind me of Duke Nukem 3D

  • DAT ASS

  • why do all the good games get cancelled!?!

  • they always cancell the good looking games

  • yeah, a lot of good games would appear in GBA, but they cancelled them

    i hate when that happen

  • @t377y000 NINTENDO always cancell them

  • @t377y000 Usually due to poor framerates. Ideas will forever be limited by hardware.

  • @yomothafucka34 the GBA just could not handle this.

  • @Boxanadu The Gameboy Advance has as much power as a Playstation 1.

  • @sonicheroes777

lol, no it doesn't, the Playstation 1 had far better hardware than the GBA. The GBA should be seen as a buffed up SNES that fits in your pocket.

  • @Boxanadu what do u mean it couldnt handle this thesed graphics are RRUUBBIISSHH even for gba

  • @yomothafucka34 money used up on dev't not much left for advertising it.

  • note to developers: If the system you are making your game for has the graphical capibilities of a SNES, scandily clothed women are not a good selling tactic.

  • @Midwestgamer2 uh, this is a 32 bit came console, not 16 bit...

  • i just love how her ass is always in the way...no serously i do im not being sarcastic BOOTYBOOTYBOOTYBOOTYBOOTY EVERYWHERE

  • wat a loser

  • I just took a look at this vid and a few comments, and I will rest the war you are all having.

The level or maps, not get warped when the camera looks up or down so that implies that the levels are in true 3d.

As for the characters, they are defo sprites, because them become point pixelated when you view them close up, and they have an 8 directional camera turn point, if they where true 3d you could see them at ever degree (360).

  • I mean just check from 0:35 for the true 3d effect of the level.

  • 0:29!

  • yeah i love that grafics really i grow up playing too the pc you know duke nukem , doom, wolfenstein, erectict, hexen, and many more that i cant remember really that grafics make me feel like in that great times sure i love it

  • this is not the first fps game on gba doom is fps

  • i know tou said this ages ago but. this game isnt an fps. its a third person adventure game. do you even know what fps stands for?

  • i'd tap that

  • This game's 3D is waaay better than the SSX3 for GBA! Looks cool.

  • but still. buy a PSP at least it has the best 3D so far for hand held.

  • i can't hardly enjoy these kind of graphics in nowaday

  • coool they should remake dues ex for gba XD

  • deus ex...

  • woops thanks for correcting me thats what i meant

but deus ex for gameboy would rock right?

  • This looks like a yukky repetition of that sega CD tat.

  • The problem wit h3-d on gba is that the walls were terribly deformed when you walk past them. Play driv3r to understand what i mean.

  • deforming of the textures is fixed with perspective correction. This is usually a 3D hardware feature only and not software driven. Examples are the Saturn, Playstation 1, and not the GBA.

But come on people! It's a freaking GBA! THIS IS AWESOME! for it's size, and what it is running on.

  • meant "and "now" the GBA

  • I think its because many of the GBA's 3d models are made out of flat-shapes induced to make a cube...just like combining 4 flat pieces of cardboard to make a box...

  • I always fine it funny when people don't believe videos like this are running on a real GBA or that isn't 3d. The GBA had plenty of release titles that were about as impressive as this. Sega Rally is a 3d racing game on the GBA, Doom and Duke Nukem are on it. Max Payne and Tony Hawk featured polygon characters. It's not like saying the SNES was doing this.

  • Let alone saying the NES was doing it

  • I want to see nes doing things like this vid ;]

  • true, people and even nintendo said that the GBA was as powerfull as the SNES, even though its more like a 3DO in specs.

  • yea but the snes could also produce 3D like donkey kong country and jurassic park had a FPS part when u went inside builing

  • yes but the GBA has the ability to produce high quality 3D models without a chip and can maintain a good framerate

  • donkey kong country is not 3d, same jurassic park, it's prerender, the only 3d you can see on the snes is starfox, and only because it used a chip on the cartrigde

  • donkey kong is 3D, the backgrounds r 2D but all of the characters and enemy's are 3D, also, jurassic park has a first person shooter part of it (3D) it looks just like how wolfenstein, or duke nukem on GBA look, same graphics

  • "donkey kong is 3D, the backgrounds r 2D but all of the characters and enemy's are 3D" <- Hahahaha. Thanks for the laugh ;)

  • umm ok? is there something wrong with that?

  • Nothing. It's just that you think Donkey Kong Country actually had 3D graphics. It was all pre-rendered. That means it's not 3D regardless of what the source was.

  • yea but it was capable, it may not have had as many as the gba did, but it did have some, like the ones i mentioned, and mariokart snes was also partially 3D, just in a cartoony style of graphics

  • Comment removed

  • This IS 3D. It's just like Doom and also the maps and the world objects (sprites) are in 2D. Note that, as the graphics aren't very detailed, the engine probably uses a z-buffer technique for drawing the walls.

Anyhow, the world is ugly and the animation is bad. Softened movements or faster animation could improve the game a lot.

  • It's not 3D. It's 2D, but sprites are like in 3D.

  • If they were to made this shouded also remake The Legend Of Zelda Ocarina Of Time or Super Smash Bros.

  • That's pretty impressive for a GBA.

  • Was this not released?

  • For GBA, that's pretty amazing graphics.

  • the action is 3d.not the graphics

  • thats just silly

  • looks pretty good on gba, but i do think that they could have done better on the person, she's really squarey, even for gba

  • As much as I love seeing 3D games on 2D systems, this looks like something I wouldn't touch with a 10-foot pole. I'm sorry, but as great as the graphics are, the gameplay looks utterly boring and broken

  • This not looks 3D, it look like a "Ray Casting" engine, all looks 2D with perspective

  • Just to let you know. this game was released. It was only for Pocket PC. I have it. and its an OK game. Graphics wise it pretty good. Go to ClickGamer Dot com and type in Radium and you will see it.

  • I saw a preview of this in a magazine and thought it was cool... but now I figure out it was never released... I wish it would have come out.

  • considering the hardware it runs on...pretty amazing.

  • I remember this, at first I though it was a Metroid game, the similarities of the lead character are astounding.

  • The controls MUST be shit..
