  • 240p we meet again....

  • with what white balance should you take photo from a gray card?

  • btw: you can set your "custom WB" in post if you are shooting raw :o)

  • Comment removed

  • @blackcaim set your WB to auto. WB isn't about object colors it's about light colortemp.

  • @bodiegroup You are obviously not a professional photographer if you use auto WB.

  • hello there, am a new photographer who just got his first digital camera.

do you guys know what setting for the custom white balace should be used for the colours purple and brown????

  • @blackcaim If you do custom WB, the camera will mix Blue and Amber tone perfectly together to give you the right WB

  • 1:16 outdoor shitting

  • How would you go about custom WB the D300(s) for in studio flash?

  • great video man. peace.

  • Thanks! This was so helpful, and much easier than I could have ever guessed! I have read the manual for my d700 multiple times only to be bored to death and not get anywhere. I use a 6" Photovision calibration target for exposure and white balance, though anything that is neutral (white/black/grey) will work.

  • D3, D700, D300 all have the same procedure.

You can use a gray card if you want to, it's just a bit less convenient to carry around since it doesn't fold up. I wouldn't use a white piece of paper or posterboard. If you go to any office supply store and look at their different "white" papers you will see that they can vary greatly.

  • You also said that you're testing on a D3. That was not a D3. Probably a D700. I know it doesn't make much of a difference; just saying.

Is there a WAY cheaper way of doing this? Like a gray card/posterboard.

  • I think he said D300, not D3. This is the DX version of the D700 FF.

I use half of a white 3 ring binder that I cut apart (works fine and cleans up easy). It's one of the matte ones.

  • the other way of doing this is actually setting the K value - the temperature.

  • Which one is more accurate?

  • Thank you however you did not show us an image with the lastolite
