Something about Oistrakh as well as all of his peers at this generation of violin playing was that they put themselves into their playing. I garauntee that if you listen to Milstein or Hefeitz that their playing will be minutely different from each other. That they will have something both different, yet equally beautiful in the movement. Players today seem not to have that as much... thank you so much, this is truly a treasure

I think it is not just the players but our time "not to have that much".
In the age of the cublcle even the soul is digitized, and I don't mean in the just recording methods.... :)
