Fallout is a role-playing game, you play the role of the "Lone Wanderer", your father leaves vault 101, where you live, you go after him, if you didn't security would've killed you and you go out and find him, when you get to the Jefferson memorial he is there trying to purify the wastelands water, then an evil US Army called The "Enclave" take it from you, you get the help from a military orginisation called the "Brotherhood of Steel" and take it back, it IS an RPG!

@Jiyaijo It doesnt have to be shooter, thats why its considered RPG. I played as melee only the whole game. And next time I played as brawler + throwing(ie, grenade, dynamite, etc). Its very customizable game.

Good choice fall out 3 is freaking awesome, and as for Final fantasy .....I really think Square drop the ball after FF7 which is in my opinion the best RPG of any console and any time maybe is the nostalgia but damn that is a good story line, awesome music, battle system kicked ass and was simple..

Fallout 3 is an enjoyable game, but like Oblivion, sometimes it can get overly complicated. E.g when your crippled and you gotta fork out hard-to-make caps for medical resources (Unless you find a bed/Stimpak ofc)
