And I've heard unofficial numbers that the welfare recipients only receive 10% today as opposed to 17% 10 years ago. That is, 9 out of every 10 dollars remains in the government. That pittance given to the poor is obviously a ruse, an excuse to bilk "the rich", i.e. the 49% of the public that actually do pay federal taxes. It's a scam.

I listened to Rush today. He said he plans to leave this country and immigrate to Paraguay or Uruguay. He suggested that all of hte conservatives move down there with him so that they could start a country with real conservative values. He thinks that if they get a critical mass number, the Uruguayans will be grateful for having hard working Americans in theiri country. I think it's a very good idea. I think America is "done" and a waste of time. We can do better as conservatives on our own!

Funny you mentioned how wealth flows. I completely agree with you. I don't like the fact that we gave money to the industry that brought about this recession, but I feel that was necessary evil to prevent massive job loss, which would worsen the economic state. The Republicans support tax cuts on the wealthy because they believe that wealth travels from the top down b/c of investments and job creation. Corporations have loop holes to evade taxes, and so they don't proportionately contribute.

I don't agree with our war of terror in the middle east, but Obama inherited this from the failed Bush administration. We had a surplus after the Clinton administration and now a huge deficit. I agree, why the troop surge? Why we not pulling out? Well one reasons I think is that we have destabilized the infrastructure over there and our actions have forced us to stay. If we keep continuing this war, our country will suffer beyond measure, and China will be the new world power.
I am for the surge in Afghanistan or for pulling everybody out. Not let them die while the messiah weighs the political options and bids for the Olympics we can't afford.
I agree partially. I am for peace in the middle east and increasing our economic infrastructure. War isn't the way to peace. There is no short-term happy-meal solution. We should destroy terrorism at its roots by building schools, educating, rather than using guns and ideology. We need to do more research in order to understand their culture and bridge the Pacific gap. We also need to focus on education here in the states too because we are lagging behind both Europe and Asia.
Maybe YOU should go over there and try to fix the problem. Just don't put "WE" into the equation. We need to fix OURSELVES. I have no health insurance I am Approaching 30 have not been to the dentist or doctor since I was 18. I don't want Obama care. If I get hurt it is my fault and I will have to pay for it that simple. I have to warn you though, you are relatively young and perhaps in good shape now, but I would start considering it soon. Today, medical bills are the leading cause of personal bankruptcy. In reality, if you are diagnosed with a serious disease without health insurance, you will have to pay the full amount, which is ridiculously high these days, and be ineligible for future coverage based on your pre-existing illness. You are low risk now, but in a few years, who knows.

I don't know where you are getting your history facts from, but the Great Depression was caused by underconsumption, overinvestment, poor decisions by bankers/industrialists, and weak government oversight and regulation. We never fully recovered from the Depression until the years prior to WWII. We didn't bounce back in 2 years, and unemployment reached 25% by 1930s. Stimulus provided by increasing industrial expansion which was subsidized by the government helped the recovery. Thanks.

I listened to Rush today. He said he plans to leave this country and immigrate to Paraguay or Uruguay. He suggested that all of hte conservatives move down there with him so that they could start a country with real conservative values. He thinks that if they get a critical mass number, the Uruguayans will be grateful for having hard working Americans in theiri country. I think it's a very good idea. I think America is "done" and a waste of time. We can do better as conservatives on our own!

It's pretty amazing how fast things have changed, due to me seeing my grandma from Georgia being so odd about blacks. My mom simply explained to me that she grew up in a diff era and that it's not ok to say or the n word. I was like ok and when it occurred my brain went mom said she grew up in Georgia and I was ok.

Funny you mentioned how wealth flows. I completely agree with you. I don't like the fact that we gave money to the industry that brought about this recession, but I feel that was necessary evil to prevent massive job loss, which would worsen the economic state. The Republicans support tax cuts on the wealthy because they believe that wealth travels from the top down b/c of investments and job creation. Corporations have loop holes to evade taxes, and so they don't proportionately contribute.

I don't agree with our war of terror in the middle east, but Obama inherited this from the failed Bush administration. We had a surplus after the Clinton administration and now a huge deficit. I agree, why the troop surge? Why we not pulling out? Well one reasons I think is that we have destabilized the infrastructure over there and our actions have forced us to stay. If we keep continuing this war, our country will suffer beyond measure, and China will be the new world power.

I agree partially. I am for peace in the middle east and increasing our economic infrastructure. War isn't the way to peace. There is no short-term happy-meal solution. We should destroy terrorism at its roots by building schools, educating, rather than using guns and ideology. We need to do more research in order to understand their culture and bridge the Pacific gap. We also need to focus on education here in the states too because we are lagging behind both Europe and Asia.

I have no health insurance I am Approaching 30 have not been to the dentist or doctor since I was 18. I don't want Obama care. If I get hurt it is my fault and I will have to pay for it that simple. My boss who owns a small company shouldn't be hosed another 8% so I can have healthcare. Everyone acts as if it is free but it is not. It's true employer health insurance costs big money. This is why we consider the public option that makes healthcare more affordable and to increase competition among monopolizing insurance companies.

chewyballer When the government has the power to tax you and legislate you out, it is not a competition it is called government take over. There are different ways to increase competition amongst insurance companies. We dont need a trillion dollar police on the back of already failing dollar, and if we look into history of social program funding underestimation, this "option" will cost tax payers much more then you think

I have to warn you though, you are relatively young and perhaps in good shape now, but I would start considering it soon. Today, medical bills are the leading cause of personal bankruptcy. In reality, if you are diagnosed with a serious disease without health insurance, you will have to pay the full amount, which is ridiculously high these days, and be ineligible for future coverage based on your pre-existing illness. You are low risk now, but in a few years, who knows.

First of all, the old Democratic party was divided along the lines of slavery, and held a stronghold in the South. They supported states rights and less government oversight, which now resembles the ideals of the Republican party of today. However, nowadays, the Democratic party has shifted closer to Lincoln's Republican party during the Civil War, and todya's Republican party has shifted even more right. In more recent years, the democrats have favored human rights legislation.

Remember how the Democrat Party started---as the Slavery Party. Everything they do is to have power over people. The underlying reason is still the same---to take power away from people. First they used slavery, then they seceded from the union to keep their slaves, then the demanded segregation to keep their power. When the Republicans again stopped them they needed another tool so they used socialism. That is the deadliest of all. It eventually takes away all freedom. Don't give in.

They want him to fail on his plan to socialize the country get it! Socializing the country will make it fail, so the sooner it does, and people realize writing blank checks to corporations is bad idea, the sooner our country will get on the right track. Look at the depression of 1920 went form 2.5% unemploy to 12.5% unemploy and the pres. cut gov. in half and did nothing and it rebounded back to 4.5% in 2 years. We are going to break the nation just wait till China says no to our bonds.

I don't know where you are getting your history facts from, but the Great Depression was caused by underconsumption, overinvestment, poor decisions by bankers/industrialists, and weak government oversight and regulation. We never fully recovered from the Depression until the years prior to WWII. We didn't bounce back in 2 years, and unemployment reached 25% by 1930s. Stimulus provided by increasing industrial expansion which was subsidized by the government helped the recovery. Thanks.

Perhaps an ultraconservative radio commentator or the propaganda put on by FOX "news"? The truth is most black people, if asked real life political issues, with the term Democrat and Republican excluded, would give conservative answers! Obama is half black. He is half white, he was raised by wealth old white people (his grandparents), he lived in a white neighborhood, he went to an expensive/exclusive white College...
