  • 9:13 Doodles just fondling the 1911 in the background. haha

  • Interesting as is. Terry hat's off to you on workmanship and explaining function. How many will listen to the "nevers"....? With use it is my understanding these parts polish themselves and as a result of use. Why not just use your gun in practice to get it to its desired level of wear? My dad always said, "don't fix what ain't broken". Also, no "trimming springs". This ain't a 63 "falcon gasser".

  • What watch is he wearing?

  • Most informative video ever!

  • Good video, but the camera mounted on a tripod would have been nice. I almost got motion sickness from all the bobbing around.

  • What a great, super informative and educational vid. thanks for making it.

  • @11:18 ahhhhhhh that noise!!! its like scratching chalkboard to me!!!

  • Excellent work both by the Mr Terry and nutnfancy.

  • I like how Mr. G. keeps his absolute professionalism when speaking about other companies, their products and their work. A gentleman and an artist. Here here!

  • Wow! We need more videos of a revolver breakdown disassembly. Awesome video!  trigger jobs to lighten the trigger pull

  • Terry G needs his own YouTube channel.

  • Agree!

  • i really love seeing these gun smithing videos. it's really fascinating stuff.

  • Great Vid thank you!

  • Thanks a lot for the educational demo, nutnfancy. I did this to my Airweight Centennial, and it was even easier than the Bodyguard in the demo. It uses the same springs, but there is no single-action sear so there are fewer parts to polish, Straight ahead.

  • 7 people had misfires.

  • Very informative, I emailed Mr. Gardner today about getting my new Airweight 637 CT out to him to do the same thing. In all honesty I believe S&W should be responsible for fixing these guns for free, as I feel it is a quality defect. I like the gun very much, but it is very sad that my Taurus Model 60ss6 has a way better look, feel, and finish, and of course trigger than my new S&W. J vs.K guns I know, but you know what I mean. My 60 hits at 100yds, and cut holes at 25yds 637 is useless at DA

  • Terry speaks pleasantly, and in nice english. The narrator is a tad annoying. Overall excellent video. I appreciate the technical information. It's not often something like this comes along.

    Thanks.

  • I NOTICED YOU DRY FIRING THE 638 AFTER THE MODIFICATION.DOES IT DAMAGE THE FIRING PIN?

  • Terry should make his own youtube channnel with such avideo every week.

  • Epic video in its quiet way. The detailed show-and-tell by Terry G is GOLD.

Seasoned, real-deal gunsmiths like him are such a resource.

  • Great video guys - thanks!

  • one of the best gun videos i 've ever seen.

  • great video...i think i might try the trigger job myself on mine. BTW, fired 80 rounds out off mine for the first time last night and my hand still hurts. this little thing is tough to shoot.

  • wow!very interesting and straight forward!i`am ready to to a trigger job on my buddy`s .38 after watching this!

  • @bobsolla Bad bad bad idea. Lol, please tell me youw ere joking.

  • 21:40 - "This is where a band-aid would come in handy."

Ouch. That's not too encouraging. Those rebound slides are hell to get back in - I was hoping there was an easier way.

  • Hey nutn I noticed your front sight on your 638 is colored. I have a 642 and the front ramp in not colored. was wondering if you did your self of it is stock from S&W. Thank you in advance and enjoy your videos.

  • Am I the only person who gets a mental massage when watching a person polish metal with a stone?

  • @RightWingCon81 Nope, lol, its even more soothing when you are the person doing it.

  • @Kylef7735 it's not just metal polishing, it's also watching a person erase something or when a person is sanding drywall. Better in person than on video though. OK, gonna get my fix and search for drywall finsihing.

  • this is bull shit

  • @goullume I have no idea what you are reffering to, but your grammar is bull shit too.

  • @Kylef7735 How is my grammar bull shit.

  • @goullume No capitalization, no punctiuation.

And what were you reffering to as "bull shit"

  • Outstanding video

  • How can I talk to Terry about some of the materials he uses? This is one of my favorite vids. TNP4LIFE

  • Best dogon trigger job video to date! Thank you nutn

  • Great vid!!

  • i actually want to be a gunsmith and am planing on going to a school for it

  • I finally broke down and did the trigger job on my bodyguard after seeing this. This was a '95 pre MIM, pre lock Stainless M649. This was a +p .38 special before they changed model numbers allowing for the .357 variant. Already pretty good trigger but still needed some work. WOW what a fantastic result. Butter comes to mind. I wouldn't have tried this without seeing it first. Thanks for the vid!

I'm getting ready to work over my Ruger GP100 next.

  • WTG NutNFancy. Longtime subscriber -- this one's saved to playlist.

Thanks for what you do, brother.

    -- Stay gold...

  • 28:25 Ahh yeahh ! Like he's fucking xD

  • Wow great video!

  • Right now I'm in the process of a trade. A Glock 19 (600 rounds thru it) & 6 mags (3-10 & 3-15 rounders) for a brand new never fired S&W 638 just like yours. Is it a fair trade? Better for him? Better for me? Also, I have a Ruger SP101 .357 3"bbl & I was thinking of sending BOTH revolvers to Terry for Trigger/Action jobs - What are your thoughts? Thank You. Sincerely,d JAMES.

  • A+ fellas. Not something I would try on my own but it is very good to see how a pro does it! I will be sure to tune into your 1911 video as well. Thanks!

  • These videos are fascinating.. Please keep them coming.

  • its amazing how a lot of this stuff can be done without many special tools, just some polishing stones and such

  • Another quality episode! Really fascinating to see the guts of this revolver...thanks to you nutn' and to Terry for his willingness to share his knowledge and expertise. I bet he'll soon be swamped!

I see why they call him Yoda ;)

  • Lol at Doodle playing with his Taurus in the background @ 9:18 :D

  • Can you explain why S&W don't install weaker springs in the first place?

  • Good stuff...the music at the end was groovy too!

Thanks for another high quality informational video!

  • Great video! I watched this vid, pausing often, to take apart my S&W 637 and put it back together. After I was comfortable with that, I polished a most of the parts shown in the video (being very careful). The result is that the double action trigger pull is smother and the single action beaks like glass.

  • @blackflag1966

    It's like "what is brain"?

    Yeah you don't have one.

  • i wish i was a gunsmith :(

  • @xdsk0x Why arent you?

  • @Kylef7735 im working on it :)

  • @xdsk0x Awesome.

  • hey nutnfancy do you shoot with both eyes opened even if firing from a far distance? Please answer back thanks. And if you do please post a video about it. thanks

  • I love all of the Terry G videos thanks for bringing them to us Nutn.

  • Veri or tnprs: Please help me here. I watched all nutns videos but can't remember, did he have his p226 get a trigger job on it? What video? Mine is stock and don't want to hear all the forum bologna (thanks oscar myer for singing me how to spell that word).

    Thanks all, Will

  • @mywillpower1 I don't believe he made a video of his P226 getting a trigger job.

  • where can you buy gunsmithing tools.

  • @LisaRhea25 Brownells

  • awesome to watch a real pro at work - cheers

  • would really like info on the knife nunts son was carrying. belive he said hk steathy assender but cant find any info online about it

  • @bubba102893 Benchmade H&K Ascender, large variety. Previously reviewed, he loves.

  • @nutnfancy does your son bring guns and knives to school?

  • @nunvikingsofthesea Hes in college now, and im sure he carrys an EDC knife, but guns arent allowed on campus, and if you break the law, then you are just as bad as the bad guys.

  • @nutnfancy Im active duty military and Iv'e carry an hk ascender everyday in a saltwater environment and love it. No rust and sure holds one hell of an edge.

  • This video was a good thing for me, because hopefully in a few months i'll be taking an apprenticeship to learn to be a gun smith.

  • Great Video

  • Dude! The first 10 minutes alone was worth the whole video just for the educational factor on the firing mechanism! Awesome!

  • @1083CharlieZulu Yes, it was great review of the lockwork. Fun times!

  • epic ligament movement at 28:30

  • I've previously heard you use the song that plays at the beginning of this video, but I can't seem to figure out its title. I looked through the partnersinrhyme site, but I'm still drawing a blank. Would you mind telling me the name of that song? Thanks! I love your vids, btw.

  • crisp

  • Love these gunsmithing videos!

  • Did tacticaldoodle just start picking up guns and dry firing them???

  • @thegeneral123

I think that was his and Nutn's Taurus 1911 that Terry worked on. I think the vid was made in Sept 09 or so. Just uploaded this week.

  • That Terry is a true professional. Nice video.

  • Ya know... I'm not a big revolver fan (not at all really), but I'll take 30 minutes out of my day to watch a master gun smith... It's always an honor and a pleasure to be able to watch Terry G (Yoda) at work. Thanks for bringing us a long Nutn and it was great to see Tac-D back home!

  • Fantastic video. A whole lot of teaching, but I would not begin to compete with an expert like Terry. Thank you both!!

  • Speaking if SIG, I haven't been seeing much of the P226 lately.

  • Would love to see Terry´s work in an AR-15 or your AK.

  • Fascinating video !

  • What hardness and size stones did Terry use?

  • Very impressive work. A true master.

  • YODA!!!

  • That man is a true craftsman. He is worth the money and time. No doubt. Thanks for your knowledge Yoda G.

  • Man.. I live 10 minutes from this amazing shop, I wish I could get over there more often.

  • Would love more info on the knife your son had. Thanks.

  • NutnFancy!!! I MADE 10 ACCOUNTS TO SUB TO YOU!! :D AWESOME VIDEOS!!!! :)

  • The government should make terry immortal

  • Excellent :) Went right into hospital for an unplanned surgery after my vacation... but again Nutn saves my day with informative and entertaining vids. I can't wait to get out again :) Thanks Dude!

  • Would these surfaces that are being polished eventually polish themselves over years of use?

  • What do I have to search for to find more work by this gunsmith? I would like to see more of his work.

  • outstanding !!

  • okay tnp'ers, WHO could give this vid a thumbs down? it's VERY informative and precise, what MORE do you need, someone to hold your hand and give you a fresh bottle?

  • @sprunk82 LOL love the comment, sprunk! ;) -- Veri

  • beautiful footage of an amazing guns inner workings.

  • Great baby Smith! It looks like a fine watch when he took the side cover off. DO WANT!

  • This series with Terry-Yoda are Absolutely Awesome. Total Quality & Educational. You guys are Lucky to have the chance to visit him that often.

Another pretty interesting thing about him is the places he goes to buy replacing stuff + the people in the biz he knows HA

Hey it'll be cool to show some more of his tools around etc.

    Somewhat similar to a watchmaker.

    .

    Thanks again for uploading

  • Nicely done! It's a joy to watch a good gunsmith work.

  • I want one! :-) How do I get my 642 out to him? I'm in Georgia. Thank you guys at the project for sheding some light on mods for this awesome handgun series.

  • @NoiseMostBeautiful All the contact info is in the sidebar. You could call Terry and firm up plans on your shipping options. -- Veri

  • nutn... I know you have a military job, a police job, a volunteer firefighter job, a part-time EMT job, a dating service job, plus all of your commitments to family and friends..., but I sure am glad that you spend time making videos of yourself doing cool stuff. :)

  • @1775Montezuma Don't forget his babysitting service! :P -- Veri

  • @nutnfancy youre lucky that its not illegal to mount a laser on a firearm! :D

  • amazing how easy gunsmiths make it look... i wish i had a good gunsmith around here...

  • @aj45colt Same here. I have to travel a few hours to get to a good one.

  • Mini 14 would be grate to see.

  • totally love the gunsmithing videos. Need more.

  • Be sure not to pry it off... Instead beat it with a hammer... lol I understand why he did it that way just thought it was kind of funny.

  • Nutn, what is your most viewed video??

  • The reason he said the hammer would break before a accidental discharge, is that the hammer and sear are made from powdered metal using a complex metallurgical process!

  • why the F did they close that to airsoft!!!!!!

  • @tigerm48

close what to airsoft? i skipped around on this vid cause im short on time

  • @NickDenning3 shit sorry i commented on the wrong video. i had that damn autoplay on the subscription vids on and the vid ended and switched before i pressed enter on the comment. haha

  • @tigerm48

Oh haha. I was really interested cause i thought Nutn' was talkin about somethin airsoft related. & yes I do airsoft & im proud of it. In my own defence, i shoot at the range alot more than I airsoft.

  • @NickDenning3 thats cool im the same way. love airsoft but hit up the range alot too

  • @tigerm48

Same. I honestly wish i could airsoft more. I only go about 2-3 times a year. & i go to the range as much as my wallet will let me hahaha

  • This video was so great to watch and learn

  • Love these vids at Terry's workbench! Thanks for posting.

  • I own a few S&W revolvers. Model 67, 29,686 and can see that this video will be useful for working and cleaning all of them. Thank you for all the useful information and thank Yoda also.

  • does anybody know what smith and wesson has done to right their betrayal in 2000 with the clinton administration?

  • This is an amazing video. I just recently subscribed to your channel and I have enjoyed every one of your reviews. Keep up the good work, I know i will be eagerly awaiting every update.

  • Simple fix ... buy a Ruger LCR (hee hee)

  • @ZombieTactics If you want plastic, buy a semi auto. I do admit an LCR has a lighter; albeit, not as smooth trigger.

  • Oh man, Terry is too cool for school. What a total pro and a hard working dood to boot. I'd pay fat stacks for him to teach me what he does as a master. Friggin love these vids.

  • Outstanding! Explanation.

  • @Xalphadog69X Agreed, Terry is the de Vinci of his craft. I want him to paint my portrait then add some lube.

  • Nice job as usual. The Terry G vids are great. Keep 'em coming Nutn!

  • Outstanding! Explanation of function, craftmanship par excellence, humour, just outstanding! Nice job on this one Mr. Nutnfancy. Respect!

  • Does anyone know where the best place to buy arkansas stones is?

  • This is a great video and I'm sure it will help get Terry and Impact Guns more business as it inspires confidence in the work.

It's good to see Tactical Doodle again too. Thanks for your time.

  • Awesome!

  • Thanks for another great vid. I really enjoy watching Terry explain the function of the pistols that you bring him. Most guys would charge extra to sit and explain how it works and what he is doing to improve it. :) Really entertaining and interesting. Thanks again Nutnfancy. I really appreciate your work.

  • I'm not much of a revolver guy but dang its awesome to watch Terry do his thing!

  • Wow ...'Yoda' fits appropriately. Smart friggin guy!

  • Do a Dan Wesson Review

  • Arkansas stone, is that the knife sharpener?

  • @shidoink It's a fine stone that's good for this type of job and like you might use it to make your knife egde sharper.

  • awesome

  • @blackflag1966 Second Kind of Cool is what makes something personally pleasing to you or others, something about the object that makes a personal connection with you and makes you like it even more.

  • Does doing this take away from the life span of your firearm? I mean it seems like almost all of these processes occur naturally anyway.

  • Was doodles blade the mini ascender or the full size?

  • @blackflag1966

It means that you just like it

  • Hey Nutn when working with aluminium use varsol as a cutting luquid because aluminium gets hot and turns really sticky and grabs drill bits ect.

  • coolness...

  • how does one become a gun smith?

  • @BustaMonkey1234

There are a couple schools that you can go to, I'm sure there is a website showing all of them, just go take a look.

  • @blackflag1966 Sein eigener Ausdruck für Sachen die er einfach mag, ohne weitere Begründung. 1st k. o. c. sind für ihn dagegen funktionale Dinge.

  • dude i know that guy! you say hes from ogden? Ive talked to him before in slc :) I was with my dad and we made small talk in a costco somewhere ::)

  • i have done minor gun smithing befor but nothing too much.

  • I like this one, looks simple yet sophisticated. Taurus has a similar function.
