Interesting as is. Terry hat's off to you on workmanship and explaining function. How many will listen to the "nevers"....? With use it is my understanding these parts polish themselves and as a result of use. Why not just use your gun in practice to get it to its desired level of wear? My dad always said, "don't fix what ain't broken". Also, no "trimming springs". This ain't a 63 "falcon gasser".
I like how Mr. G. keeps his absolute professionalism when speaking about other companies, their products and their work. A gentleman and an artist. Here here!
Thanks a lot for the educational demo, nutnfancy. I did this to my Airweight Centennial, and it was even easier than the Bodyguard in the demo. It uses the same springs, but there is no single-action sear so there are fewer parts to polish, Straight ahead.
Very informative, I emailed Mr. Gardner today about getting my new Airweight 637 CT out to him to do the same thing. In all honesty I believe S&W should be responsible for fixing these guns for free, as I feel it is a quality defect. I like the gun very much, but it is very sad that my Taurus Model 60ss6 has a way better look, feel, and finish, and of course trigger than my new S&W. J vs.K guns I know, but you know what I mean. My 60 hits at 100yds, and cut holes at 25yds 637 is useless at DA
Terry speaks pleasantly, and in nice english. The narrator is a tad annoying. Overall excellent video. I appreciate the technical information. It's not often something like this comes along.
great video...i think i might try the trigger job myself on mine. BTW, fired 80 rounds out off mine for the first time last night and my hand still hurts. this little thing is tough to shoot.
Hey nutn I noticed your front sight on your 638 is colored. I have a 642 and the front ramp in not colored. was wondering if you did your self of it is stock from S&W. Thank you in advance and enjoy your videos.
@Kylef7735 it's not just metal polishing, it's also watching a person erase something or when a person is sanding drywall. Better in person than on video though. OK, gonna get my fix and search for drywall finsihing.
I finally broke down and did the trigger job on my bodyguard after seeing this. This was a '95 pre MIM, pre lock Stainless M649. This was a +p .38 special before they changed model numbers allowing for the .357 variant. Already pretty good trigger but still needed some work. WOW what a fantastic result. Butter comes to mind. I wouldn't have tried this without seeing it first. Thanks for the vid!
I'm getting ready to work over my Ruger GP100 next.
Right now I'm in the process of a trade. A Glock 19 (600 rounds thru it) & 6 mags (3-10 & 3-15 rounders) for a brand new never fired S&W 638 just like yours. Is it a fair trade? Better for him? Better for me? Also, I have a Ruger SP101 .357 3"bbl & I was thinking of sending BOTH revolvers to Terry for Trigger/Action jobs - What are your thoughts? Thank You. Sincerely,d JAMES.
A+ fellas. Not something I would try on my own but it is very good to see how a pro does it! I will be sure to tune into your 1911 video as well. Thanks!

Great video! I watched this vid, pausing often, to take apart my S&W 637 and put it back together. After I was comfortable with that, I polished a most of the parts shown in the video (being very careful). The result is that the double action trigger pull is smother and the single action beaks like glass.
hey nutnfancy do you shoot with both eyes opened even if firing from a far distance? Please answer back thanks. And if you do please post a video about it. thanks
