  • my choir did this song as a memorial piece for a faculty member and all of the soldiers who have passed at our school. if i can get my hands on the tape i'd be more than happy to post it for any one who wants to hear it with vocals.

  • I LOVE this song!!! I'm in a quartet that often sings at funerals, and this song is beautiful and perfect. I can't wait until I'm Finally Home!!!

  • This piece is so anointed...so beautiful. God has beautiful (words cannot express the beauty of heaven) home awaiting those that love Him; those that chose to live for Him in the beauty of holiness.

  • I am hoping you will have this song with lyrics on YouTube. This was sang beautifully by Diana Ferree at Riverdale Baptist Church on June 3, 1985,

  • Mrs. Joyce Malone Sr went to heaven this morning. I had the honor of being in her church choir in Pontiac. Many, many times she would lead our choir in singing this song. And now she is reunited with her husband, Dr. Tom Malone Sr.: Finally Home!

  • My uncle has sung this song at so many funerals over the years. Even for his own siblings. I wonder, who will sing it for him at his funeral. I do not know of anyone that could do it the same justice that he has.

    Makes me sad. :-(

  • Gardner and Grace McCabe and their mommy are enjoying Grandma's beautiful piano playing as we sit on the couch overlooking the Blue Ridge Mountains. Thanks, Grandma for sharing your amazing talent. xoxoxox

  • waauw its awesome

  • i really need the vocal version of this song...

    does anyone got it ?

please sent it to me please please please :D

  • I would like it too. I've looked for it here on You Tube, but so far no luck.

  • I watch and listen to this video often. As a tired and busy Pastor I appreciate having a place to go where I can be reminded of HOME. Sure would like more songs from this dear sister !

  • Thank you for posting this. Seems to be the only version I can find on Youtube. Praise the Lord!!!

  • Is this the lady that I've seen at the Tri-State fellowships every now and then? They give an award each year with her husband's name, I believe it's Roy Magnuson?

  • This is she. Roy Magnuson was the minister in Mayville New York and was awarded the Defender of the Faith Award posthumously. So the preachers in the region have kindly remembered him for His faithfulness to our Lord Jesus and they have kept alive the need to "fight manfully onward..." "the good fight" in this late day of apostacy and modernism with their annual award given away each August. He was my hero.

  • But just think of stepping on shore-and finding it Heaven!

    Of touching a hand-and finding it God's!

Of breathing new air and finding it celestial!

Of waking up in glory-and finding it home!

  • When engulfed by the terror of the tempestuous sea,

    Unknown waves before you roll;

At the end of doubt and peril is eternity,

Though fear and conflict seize your soul:

  • But just think of stepping on shore-and finding it Heaven!

    Of touching a hand-and finding it God's!

Of breathing new air and finding it celestial!

Of waking up in glory-and finding it home!

  • When surrounded by the blackness of the darkest night,

    O how lonely death can be;

At the end of this long tunnel is a shining light,

For death is swallowed up in victory!

  • Amazing! Mrs. Magnuson is better than ever! I guess it has been about 31 years since I heard her play at Metropolitan Independent Baptist Church! Thanks for sharing this on you tube!

  • It is amazing to see Mrs. Magnuson again! It has been a long time, 1977, I believe, at Metropolitan Independent Baptist Church! Thanks for posting Roy!

  • i have been searching for that song, but i was kind of hoping to hear someone sing it too. my youth paster is a baritone and the way that the song is interpreted with that tone of voice just gives me chills

  • Well, now you know why this is one of the two songs I posted. I was so enthused my Mom had written an arrangemtent for this song. As a teenager I had a cassette tape of it and the music wedged the words deep in my heart! It is true art, where the music matches the words! I have experienced the song to some degree ... So I guess I will try and lend my voice to leading you guys here to sing - aloud, the praises of our Lord! :-) Lets not be consumers but producers for Jesus our wonderful Lord!

  • there is a video on my channel with a vocal version of this song.

It doesnt have clips of the person singing tho so you can just minimize and enjoy.

  • Watching Mrs. Magnuson play has reminded me of my dear 89-year-old grandmother. She played for church and children's Sunday School for years, probably before I was born. But hearing and watching her play brings back joyful memories of my grandmother. God has blessed those piano-playing hands with grace and love for music.

  • God bless those whose musical talents have sent a piece of musical heaven to our souls! Exquisitely done! Very lovely. Thank you.

  • This amazing song brought tears to my eyes; and so beautifully played, as well.

    This is true worship music....

  • This is absolutely beautiful. I was left with my jaw down. Absolutely stunning technique. 5 stars all the way!

  • Today I listened to your wonderful music and cannot stop listening to this beautiful song. How wonderful to see you playing the piano. I would love to have the words to this song. I did know them, but can't remember all of them. I miss you and would love to see you.

  • Hi Joanne... Great to hear from you!

    "When engulfed by the terror

    Of tempestuous sea

    Unknown waves before you roll

At the end of doubt and peril is eternity

Though fear and conflict seize your soul...

The words are at the top next to the date, but you have to click on the little blue letters (more info).

Im talking to Mom on the phone!... She says to say, "My mother loves you. Are you still singing the psalms? [of the tape Mom sent]

Thanks for the inspiring comment. Grace! Roy

  • Hi Roy..Great to hear from you, also.

Yes, I finally realized how to get the words from the song. I've been singing it all night. I told Robin to listen to it, too. Since her dad (Will) died 6 months ago, it's been very hard on her, and Bill, Mark and me, also. But these words bring such confort.

I am singing the Psalms. I wish they could be put on YouTube also. Love to your family. Joanne

  • I have searched a long time for this song . you play it so beautifully. thank you so much

  • How wonderful it must be to be able to play so beautifully--and to play a song that allows me to sing its beautiful lyrics!

  • beautiful arrangement. I've been looking all day for some sheet music for this for a "first Christmas without a loved one" service at a funeral home. Your accomp. will be perfect!

  • This was so encouraging to listen to and sing along with. Thank you so much for posting!
