The first picture, by Cavalli-Sforza (one of the greatest anthropologists in history) shows the genetic distance between different human populations. Non-European Caucasoids are Arabs, Jews and Berbers. They're MUCH closer to Europeans (and closer to all other human populations) than to Africans.

Most of the inhabited northern coast of Africa has a mediterranean climate (duh, it's on the mediterranean basin), so it's no surprise Northern Africans resemble Spaniards, Greeks and Italians more than Nigerians. Even considering North Africans got significantly mixed with blacks due to the Arab slave trade.

We understand that in those days when slaves could be bought and sold,a slave may have gone into slavery for an unpaid debt. The creditor could then enslave you and your family. A man could pay the debt and the slave would be released,free to go. In other words you will be sold into slavery and no man will purchase your freedom.

update on some info missing from this vid. The two most prominant cultures responsible for this are not even mentioned. The spannish and their own tribes.
