  • let her cry makes me cry awesome!

  • Love This Song!!!!!!!

  • this is the greatest song ever

  • shit make me cry evertime i hear that shit

  • If I could sing like anybody it would be Darrius Rucker. The timber in his voice is pure dynamite. He's arguably the best male vocalist in music history. Period.

Too bad his songs suck almost as bad as the name of his band.

Hootie and the Blowfish? Really? Who the hell thought that was a good idea, bozo the clown?

  • @danaluxton I think Hootie and the Blowfish is a great name. Unique voice and a name you cant forget; its hard to mistake the band.

  • Such a great song

  • Saw H & the B, in Melbourne,Australia,in the late 90's. Was sooo looking forward to seeing them, but unfortunately, was one of THE most BORING concerts,i've ever attended. Musically...fantastic, but they basically stood there like mannequins & played. Loved the songs, but i felt at times, I wanted a roadie to come out & prick them with a pin,so they'd move. But that aside, their music is still superb. Hold my Hand, Let her Cry & Goodbye are still my favourite songs,of theirs. NEVER get sick of em

  • one of my favorites love pearl jam and soundgarden and also nirvana sad we lost him glad Darius is still singing it sounds the same as country!!

  • ONE OF A KIND !!!! LEGENDS !!!!

  • i've been listening to this song for over 16 years and still enjoy every minute of it. pure talent..

  • artificial singing, this is shit!

  • Comment removed

  • @impossiblelateflip She should fuck you off pal and get her arse reamed by somebody with taste.

  • This video is amazing. Such an amazing decade.

  • DONT LET ME CRY OVER THE LOSS OF THE ONE WOMAN I THOUGHT I COULD EVER SPEND LIFE WITH AGAIN, KITTY..I STILL CRY AND GO NUTS BUT I HAVE TO GET OVER IT AND FIND THE PERFECT GAL.. AND ITS JUST RIGHT IN MY PAWS,...X0...RUFF...

REX..HELP ME BUDDY...I KNOW U ARE THERE AT MY SIDE AND HELPING ME OUT...SO KICK MY ASS AND LET ME FIND HER..X0X0X...love u buddy ...ruff to you...rest in peace..and take care of pops , too..

  • Ya, Ive had enough to drink

  • sexy voice

  • i think this song is fantastic, love his raunchy voice

  • @whiteej21 I like a lot of the stuff from the 50s-90s. I know what you're saying but all this autotune dance/fake rap garbage just irritates me as does the fact that no one cares about content as long as there's a "beat." You have to dig deep to find good music these days whereas when I was growing up in the 80s and 90s it was mainstream.

  • cracked rear view is the most underrated 90s album. So good.

  • the 90s were the best because there wasn't auto tune and also great music like hootie along with many other

  • Another 90's classic! Spiceyboner is right. For those of you who were too young (or living on mars) for 90's music, watch: nirvana, bush, smashing pumpkins, live, soundgarden, radiohead, pearl jam, stone temple pilots, alice in chains, blind melon, better than ezra, spin doctors, screaming trees, red hot chili peppers, candlebox, googoo dolls, and so many more i can't think of right now

  • You know an artist is talented when you can close your eyes during a live performance and think you are listening to the CD...people who didnt live in the 90s dont know what they missed

  • @SpiceyBoner

It should be expected that artists (can) sound the same live as they sound in their albums. And maybe it once was, but sadly, today it's not anymore.

  • i swear this was the cd i was listening to

  • oh man. this is just SO good. i wish songs like this were written these days..

  • Proper Tune ..

  • performed with passion.....love it ;)

  • Singers actually knew how to sing back then. I hate whoever invented auto-tune. All we have today are talentless douchebags who dress like their from outer-fucking-space.

  • @HecklerBoy7 exactly!! bands in the 90's got big/well known because they had pure TALENT. Not because they looked good(generally), or anything like that. I really talent behind bands. Singer/songwriter acoustic stuff still does it for me now though... at least there are some talented people still, just not solo artists and not bands.

  • this is probably the best live performance of this song.

  • This reminds me of my time in California, Hootie you rock!!!!!!!!

  • Paul Schaffer gettin' down @ 2:11 haha

  • I had no clue he was black... That just made me like them even more. Hahah which is slightly racist. Even though I'm white

  • They have got to be the best live performers ever!

  • he is great like his music now to miss this ban

  • if all music was like this i dont think there would be war or hate on this sad planet

  • Thumbs up if you laughed lookin at the guy on the keyboard

  • i wish i could see them live...im 16 and unfortunately missed the band by a few years ahaha

  • wow. i feel sorry for everyone who didn't grow up in the 90s. what passes for music these days just isn't

  • @TheHighTechLowLife I definitely generally agree with this. I do however still enjoy singer/songwriter acoustic music, some of the new rock bands(nothing like they were in the 90's though)... 90's music will always be the best to me :/

  • @TheHighTechLowLife

The 90s were a wasteland for music - one we never recovered from. Darius was one bright spot in a dark time for music.

  • @CanAm85 No way man! The early to mid 90s were like one of the best times im music history. It was the late 90s that ruined everything.

  • @imortalsappy grunge was the best!! grew up in Oregon so we got it second to Seattle!

  • @MsLindalorraine I love grunge sooo much. Alternative rock in general was just amazing at this time. Hence, Hootie and The Blowfish.

  • @imortalsappy ABSOLUTLEY, never a truer word said.

  • @TheHighTechLowLife I agree and say the same for the 80's as well. Even though I did not hit my teens until the 90's, music was as powerful to em in my youth as well. And I totally agree that the music now is just not the same anything.

  • @TheHighTechLowLife people who didnt grow up int the 90`s such as myself. we still know what GOOD music is. and this is it.

  • @TheHighTechLowLife True that!!!!

  • awesome song me and my dads band play this song

  • every song needs 5 keyboards...

  • i didn't realize Darius Rucker was the lead singer to hootie and the blowfish until now...

  • @DorkFit04 i didn't realize Darius Rucker had a solo career until just now

  • @DorkFit04 as magzfaefife says.... WTF?!

  • @TheOjibway84 and i say you two have nothing better to do then sit in your mommy and daddys basement and make stupid comments on youtube XD

  • Great song! Still plays in our store! I'm not racist but I didn't know the lead singer was black! nice! he has a great voice!

  • @TheOjibway84

    WTF..!!

  • @magzfaefife I said I wasn't being racist I seriously thought it was a white man. don't WTF me. obviously I didn't know. holy shit man calm down.

  • Love the background vocals by Soni the drummer. Beautiful song.

  • Not intense enough on the keyboard, if you ask me

  • I'd really appreciate some feedback on my cover of "Let Her Cry" I'm no Darius Rucker, but who is? Thanks in advance

  • Just a great song what ever happened to these guys? (gotta have been the name) ???

  • I never get tired of hearing this...never.

  • didn't Stevie Wonder write this?

  • Which 1 got with monica?

  • Darius is a Fucking Beast, Then and Now! Hoottie's the Shit.

  • That's some raw talent there. Amazing singing

  • If you listen to country music you would know this is Darius Rucker

  • Tiger Woods! I swear it's Tiger Woods! No sticks, no women, but I swear it's Tiger Woods!

  • @tidewaterblues LOL... You're funny!

  • GO HEAD HOOTIE & THE BLOWFISH!

  • This guy has a FUCKING amazing voice.

  • 1995-96 is a great year for hootie and the blowfish...1990's music are the best....!!!!

  • Saw these guys 2x in 1995. The first was in a club in Dallas when they were just getting famous - this single had just come out, and they were awesome. A great bar band.

Later that summer, they were one of the biggest bands in the country, and I saw them at Starplex in Dallas with about 15,000 people. They are not an arena band. One of the worst concerts I have seen, mostly due to the crappy crowd who slept on the whole show.

  • America lets me down in so many ways with talking about races, sports, war, and on and on and on. I bet if he were white and stevie were white, the race card would have never come up. Good job america.

  • more people are impressed by his skill by the color of his skin. which in no way represents anything about the song, or his musical style. people are people.

  • black people even sing country better

  • Wot can i say... this song just blows my mind away....Hootie's hold my hand was my wedding first song, this one is just ............awesome, it plucks heart strings i didn't know i had. And to hear the great black vocal sing rock.......not taking anything away from rap and gospel........that guy is amazing......love this group.

  • I didn't realise Ted from scrubs used to play keyboards for hootie...

  • @JulianAlistair haha i was watching this thinking "i know that guy from somewhere??" and you just answered my question. its definitely Ted from scrubs hahah

  • That's an amazing song and he has an awesome voice. Very sad tho.

  • Back in 1995, I used to think Darius Rucker was "Hootie" and the rest of the band was the "blowfish" (in plural form).

  • I love Hootie and the Blowfish.. they are such an amazing band with beautiful music that just warms your heart.

  • does anyone know if any of them still do anything in music?

  • @94donnacone...Darius Rucker is all over country radio. He has been for the past 2 years. He has a new album out...and his stuff is basically Hootie with a pedal steele guitar.

  • I wish music were like this today...

  • @Chubzdoomer Yeah what the FUCK happened to music?!?

  • @Chubzdoomer Stevie Wonder didn't write this. Darius did. It's a gender reversal role. A song about his girlfriend. How on earth did you think Stevie Wonder wrote this???

  • @ajd40 I wasn't the one who said that. Don't quote the wrong dude!

  • @Chubzdoomer there is daruis rucker solo career lol

  • his eyebrows look weird.... good song

  • sounds just like it does on the radio!

  • Good music from the mid 90s

  • and just let herrr cryyyyyyyy

  • From 2:13 tp 2:18 when Paul Scheiffer gets down on the keyboards is amazing. Wow!!!! Can I get a thumbs up.

  • I can't believe that I didn't set my VCR to capture this in '95. "Cracked Rear View" is one of the best albums of the '90's IMHO. Love Paul Schaffer (sp?) gettin' down on the 'keys. This is beyond classic, thank you for sharing it.

  • Sorry not Darin Darius miss wrote

  • I love this song, actually more than I can explain. It speaks to my soul. I missed them as a band, an I wish they would get back together to do a few shows, I'd fly ne where to watch them play again. Lol Darin has done quite well for himself in country music. I don't know what the other members of hootie are doing but I'm sure they're doing well because they are so talented. Thanks for up loading this video!!!

  • Sickly good live. Sounds exactly like the recorded version. Gross awesome.

  • I'll never get bored to the song even i repeatedly listen to it over and over again. It feels like it cleanses my soul through my ears. Smile ^_^ if only it was always the years of the 90's i prefer it to be, i don't like the music now adays!

  • Nowadays when he plays this song he adds a lot more to it, I think it makes it better. It is very good right here but some other videos really show Darius' potential. He has really matured over the years

  • Thanks for this, fantastic song & an excellent live version !!!!

  • Yessss, I get it, winter of '95 again NY...

  • how could you dislike this song?

  • ang galing ng banda n to,, npaka simple pero ang gaganda ng songs,,astigin

  • BEEEEAUUUTIFULL..and I mean the whole package... :)

  • that dude was a little too intense on his keyboard

  • @NationalBoxingDay lol. so true dawg. He's acting like its a heavy metal song LMFAO

  • I was only in 2nd grade when this song came out and its still one of my favorites!!

  • i miss the song's of the 90's.. so many legendary bands have faded.. but still i love their songs.. rock n roll!! \,,/,

  • omg! love this & u guys ! BAD RN.So relaxing to me.Get off the drugs girls. It'll be OKIE DOKIE soon:)

  • @misskitty19691 who the hell says okie dokie you might be a chick but thats still gay

  • for my 65 lover....

  • emo like music can't kill 90's music till now IMO! #FTW

  • I LOVED THE 90'S WHEN MUSIC STILL HAD INDIVIDUALITY! EVERYONE NOW SOUND ALL THE SAME.

  • @toffi438 You mean Huey Lewis?

  • Seriously people who cares if he's black? There are so many black artists out there there now, its neither something to be proud of nor be offended by. It's a great song, and a great band, no matter what his race may be!

  • @PrincessT87

To me you want it eachway.. " proud of nor be offended "..what does that mean.

You do mix your message,I think you are an idiot

  • @cci110 Uhh it mean's exactly what I put, someones race is completely arbitrary really, so it's something that should be neutral which is why you should feel neither proud of nor be offended. It's not an accomplishment, your race, it's not a hook or hinderance (well at least it shouldn't be, which is the point I'm trying to make). Obviously. I thought I made myself perfectly clear the first time. Now who's the idiot.

  • @PrincessT87

    Dear Girl,

Can't remember what I said and not going to look.

Idoit is a strong term,I have a very good brain last time I looked.

I'm going down the pub,I will buy you a drink, then we can have a

    song together

  • Most of the songs of Hootie and the Blowfish touch me... and the singer sounds so southern.

  • Who cares what colour he/they are? Just enjoy it for the great song it is.

  • @jackHNv I soooooo agree with you. I wouldnt care if it was a singing whale so long as i enjoy the music.

  • im african american and im proud that darius ruckerr is representing and showing everybdy that black people or not all tha same

  • You idiot only black people have a voice this deep and powerful you douche

and you thought he was white HAHAHAHA!!!

  • @Saqortt Thats is so not true it is not the preserve of any one race to have a certain type of voice.

  • @Saqortt Your an idiot . It is not the preserve of ANY one race to have a certain type of voice. The guy has a fabulous voice that is all that matters.

  • @toffi438 If you dont believe me write down (K-Ci&JoJo - Lately(live).

And listen to the second verse.

  • @Saqortt Ive loved this song for years and i prefer the Stevie Wonder original to be honest. And it doesnt change the fact that you dont have to be a certain colour to have a certain type of voice. Ive heard songs a thought it was a white guy and he was black and vice versa. Ive heard songs thought it was a woman and it was a man and vice versa. Its irrelevant though ITS ONLY THE MUSIC THAT COUNTS and if you LOVE IT who CARES who is singing it????????????

  • @toffi438 Darius Rucker said he wrote the song about one of his own past relationships, but swapped the gender roles - that in real life, he was the irresponsible one and his girlfriend was the long-suffering partner who tried to keep things together. This is the original.

  • @Jiggs46 ooops mixed messages here. Im talking about Lately by Stevie Wonder.

It was an answer to @Saqortt he told me to check out another version of Lately to back up his theory that only black guys have deep powerful voices. I dont give a rats ass about colour i was trying to get him to see that voices come in people of all colours shapes sizes sex sexual preferance and religion. If that makes sense.

  • @toffi438 Gotcha :)

  • @Jiggs46 Im glad you do cos the other guy is still banging the same drum. lol

  • @toffi438 dont belive me type up, Michael Clarke Duncan Thanks Tom Hanks

  • @Saqortt James Earl Jones Barry White you can can give me a hundred examples of black guys with deep voices. It wont change my standpoint that it doesnt matter what race a person is all that counts is they blow you away with their music.

  • @Saqortt look up Hungerstrike by temple of the dog... Listen to Eddie Veder's golden baritone voice

  • @Ajbadboy252....Vedder isn't a Baritone....he's a tenor. He's got the exact same vocal range as I do

  • @riffism Sorry but if that's the case then your a baritone as well. Eddie has a lower range than a tenor. Tenor's can sing way higher than Vedder

  • @Ajbadboy252...I have to disagree. I can't recall any songs where Vedder drops below F2 (except maybe for 1 or 2 notes during a phrase) but his high register is much more prevalent. He can roam beyond C5...but he tends to stay around A4 as his highest. All of these notes are the center for a Tenor voice...from F2 through A4.

  • @toffi438 what r u talkin about theres no version of this by stievie wonder

  • @perrodonovan you should read on mate there is more further up the page

  • @toffi438 Comon lads the truth is that class will out regardless of ethnicity. Best wishes to you all and stop being so precious and enjoy good music.

  • @wobbly585 Hey you dont need to tell me thats my standpoint if you read it all its the saquorrt guy banging on about race blah blah blah i could care less so log as the music is good

  • @toffi438 Right I take your point. Sorry

  • @wobbly585 no problem hun

  • @toffi438 Glad that you have forgiven me, take care, XX

  • @wobbly585 You too.XX

  • @toffi438 Stevie Wonder original?? Darius wrote this song! it was based on a relationship in his past, however he reversed the roles.

  • @parabagpuss I know and as i said to the other guy read the whole exchange thats just part of an exchange with Saquortt.

  • Stevie Wonder orginal ???

  • @BrisbaneBulldog80 Oh God here i go again that was just part of a whole conversation if you read on up the page. Your not the first and prob wont be the last to mssge about this AAAAArrrrrgh LOL

  • @toffi438 Stevie Wonder original??? What planet do you live on? This was a song written by Darius as a gender reversal role. It was about his girlfriend.

  • @ajd40 OH FOR GOD SAKE PEOPLE STOP READING ONE COMMENT ITS PART OF A WHOLE CONVERSATION I KNOW STEVIE WONDER DIDNT WRITE THIS SONG OOOOOOOKKKKAAAAAYYYYY!!!!!!!!!! its an exchange i had with Saquort about 3million years ago and im so bored with this now!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • @toffi438

Dude. Stevie Wonder didn't write this song. What are you, some kind of moron?

  • @TheHandsomeFalcon No your the MORON read the post above the one in BLOCK CAPITOLS STATING I KNOW STEVIE WONDER DIDNT WRITE THIS BLOODY SONG AAAAARRRRRRRRGH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • @toffi438 At the risk of causing your head to explode in indignation, it's 'you're the moron,' not 'your the moron.' And it's 'capitals' not 'capitols.'

    Don't mention it, you're welcome.

  • @TheHandsomeFalcon I am soooooo sick of people telling me what you YET again told me, even though i have posted in block capitals about it. I just fired that off and didn't really give a Hootie and the Blowfish about spelling or grammer. Naturally you couldn't just say ooops sorry like some of the others who have commented you had to pick fault. Bit full of youself it seems to me. Oh please don't mention it your so very welcome.

  • @toffi438 Okay maybe if i put a note here. I AM TALKING ABOUT LATELY BY STEVIE WONDER OOOOKKKKKAY!!!!!!!!!!!! AS PER CONVERSATION ABOVE AND BELOW THIS COMMENT MAINLY WITH @SAQORTT. i KNOW SW DIDNT WRITE 'LET HER CRY' Is that clear now are you all gonna find someone else to moan at for a legitimate reason????? PPPPLLLLLLEEEEAAAAASSSSEEEE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • 90s music was so awesome. hootie, the verve pipe, smashing pumpkins. great times. its a shame i was a mini dude and not in my 20s

  • i dont mean to be racist or anythin.. but he does sound like a white guy.;.. lol

and btw this is very rare that dark skin man sings a song without bootie n shakin ass.

great songs though love it!! :)

i dont mean no offence :)

  • @JihadGanjaFarmer . The guy has an awesome voice thats all that matters. And you are being bloody offensive 'dark skin man' black honey its an easy word.

Jesus when are we gonna get past peoples skin colour its 2010 for God sake.

  • Jon lajoie video anyone?

  • OMG HES BLACK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

what a great voice I totally pictured a White Canuck with like a flanel jacket on with a Molson in his hand. This was a nice surprise.

I AM CANADIAN...not sure if they are though :p

  • so good

  • this is the first cd single i ever purchased, think i was 11 years old at the time, no wonder! music was so fresh and raw back then ...90's had alot of great music on radio ..those days are gone ..

  • no offance i never seen a black guy playing a guitar but this song inspires me..

  • @hellogurls99 You're 26 and never seen a black guy play guitar? Browse for Jimi Hendrik...arguably the best ever.
