when i heard this song for the very first time, i totally fell in love with this band. they're my favorite ever since and i've got all their albums and most of the solo work.
The best song for me from the whole RS album no doubt about it. Very much in sync with the style and depth of Roxette ballads that follow a similar arrangement. Saddly like Per said back then about this song "it sounds very much like other Roxette ballads [...] we do get tired of ourselves" which made me sad because I feel he overlooked the beauty within this recording: both lyrically and melodically and Marie's vocals as always. The most (if not the only) serious track on the album.
@Fabian81 I was kinda angered at the time to feel that this song sounding so much in sync with a true big Roxette ballad having only 4 mins was just not enough ... something was missing. It's also for me in a way the very last Roxette ballad to sound a bit more "dramatic and intense" in its melody because all the other ballads were lighter, more serene or happier ... the sad depressive emotions have been a bit gone except in my opinion in "I'm Glad You Called" it's very sad but still serene.
@Fabian81 Anyway it's just too good to have been "squized into a 4 minute small ballad" where i can still listen there were corners of potential stuff in it that could have been extended or reworked ... something about this song deserved being labelled "big ballad" which according to Per back in 2001, was that Roxette was running away this time around (due to people's perception of what Roxette's music was - being nothing else but a big ballad). However MWMLML deserved so much better!
