HI Emily, Just came across ur channel & I've been watching ur videos all day & i'm glad! I think you are very kind & talented. Your approach is the best! I was thinking of getting a labrador pup. I have heard they are very active and i was kinda worried if i could give so much time to it. But after seeing your border collie Splash act so calm, mature & not at all hyper at all, i can say u've done a great job.
Can you also post how to potty train a dog or housetrain it, Will be grateful.
hmm the idea is very interesting in trying to get a dog to comunicate like/dislike..I really like it, how's it going?can Splash tell you what she wants and doesn't want with other items ?I'd really want to teach my dog to nod yes and no. Like this : "Kora do you want water?"(Kora shakes head -no no).."Kora do you want beer?"(kora nods-YES YES) :D ooo I'm gonna check if you have a tutorial on how to teach a dog to nod :))
I am amazed, you are such a smart girl. I can definitely see that you read about Ivan Pavlov's conditioning. You are great, keep up the good work, you will be famous one day. I will continue looking at your future posts! I can't wait to get my puppy started.
cool, im starting to think most of the amazing dog tricks are a collie thing, well I don't mean amazing but like the mass amounts of tricks that one collie can do.
wow i love the part when u said think ur funny? lol that was tooooooooo cute i wish u could be here to help me train my dog....he's soooo damn bad! i want splash!
Your videos are amazing, thank you so much, you are my hero! I have a 4 months old rough collie puppie and we are going to a dog school where they teach real clicker training so hopefully some day my Sky will know all the tricks your dogs do:)
Is there anything Splash can't do? I'd say not! You have done an awesome job with Splash and Kiko. Your videos help so much, thank you for taking the time to make them. I'll keep watching and learning!
More great inspirational video - great stuff from Splash and Kiko. Have just started trying to teach 'yes' to Milo - have just about got 'no'. We still need lots more practice though!
I can't wait to see when she figures out how to tell her dislikes from likes! You should exersize her like that every day at every task, untill she gets the idea, just not over board. Be careful! She might just start to talk back when you ask her to do a trick!
Aaawh, you guys are absolutely awsome, a great source of inspiration, if my dogs learn how to perform even half of the tricks your dogs know I'll be more than satisfied.
I absolutely adore Kiko's tounge hanging out, did she forget it out there perhaps? :P
Keep up the good work, I'll sure do keep following you here on youtube!
My dog is mayyyy to hyper and has the attention span of a nat so i was only able to teach her speak sit and laydown :/ ~i plan on trying to teach her more though~
hehe, actually when I set up the shot the first time, I asked splash if she wanted the treats, and kiko got up and tried to eat them. she is always trying to see what works with Emily!
I love the paw work. Question... Hasty does "ashamed" where she brushes her paw over her nose. I can't seem to get her to rest her paw on her nose and leave it there like Splash does. Any suggestions on how to do that when the paw movement is so fast?
I shaped it, but you could just keep asking the dog the cue over and over and click when the dog holds the paw on the nose the longest, at some point they will get it that it is more reinforcing to just hold it there than to keep pawing. Also Splash does know a lot of maintained paw behaviors- 'keep doing that' - like a maintained paw lift etc. so it generalized quickly.
that is so amazing, Splash is such a great dog and you are a wonder! I loved seeing Kiko too, she is so lovely and does her tricks in such a delicate and refined way :-)
Your dogs are amazing as usual! I just love Splash's playdead.............with the limp into the flopping down, into all 4's up to the sky - very theatrical!

I have the same question...how do you get the paw to stay by their face?
poodletrek 2 years ago
