Hi Carrie, I am going through treatment now with the Damon braces. I refused to have teeth extracted and went with a pendulum appliance. It moves my molars back to correct my overbite. Do you know if this can cause the same damage?
Thanks for your bravery and sharing your experience.
Hi! Im getting my braces soon but they're gonna pull out 4 teeth first (number 6 both lower and upper teeth). I have an overjet and my teeth are not crooked.
By your post I already know what kind of person you are. Sometimes they say you never understand until you walk in someone elses shoes. As much as I dislike your comment and the dislike you placed on this video, I don't have the heart to wish this on you.
It probably won't be very painful. But I highly recommend getting an opinion at a functional orthodontist before you remove anything. You can find one locally at iaortho.org, traditional orthos (as over 95% in the us are) make their job easier this way.
Please don't, I just went to another ortho about correction today, and he quoted me $42,000. Get more opinions, or see if there is a functional orthodontist in your area. This is a 1950's procedure that has serious problems attached. Please see the 1st video in my favorites, I wish you the best, Carrie
@ccarrieb its for braces carrie. 4 teeth removed from the back the dentist said 10000 would be the total cost and my dad said thats ok. Im just worried about changes. Thanks
The problem is almost everyone who has this procedure has problems later. The ortho makes more money from the extractions, and yes there will be changes. I made a video on the consent form that your family will have to sign for these services, you are taking a huge risk. Show your parent the videos in the favorites, I'm trying to help you not have to spent $40,000 in 10 or 20 years to reverse the damage. You are young and your jaw grows to age 24. Best of luck, Carrie
thanks for the video and i was just wondering if having only one tooth pulled can cause problems or should that be ok? Also this is kinda of stupid question but can the orthor still retract teeth farther back into the mouth without pulling teeth?
No prob, and yes almost all train track braces are retractive, some faces do change but it's a lot less common than extraction cases. I have other videos on this as well, I wish you the best, Carrie
Hi Carrie, I'm sorry to hear about your experience, I got 4 teeth pulled out 4 years ago I'm 24 now, and now I have slight tmj dysfunction...one doctor said to wear a TMJ splint and then get braces again, and they keep saying I need to get this done as soon as possible. But I was wondering what procedures are you doing to get this fixed? Or any advice? Thank you.
Hi sure you can email me here.. After tons of research I am trying save up to work with Dr.Hang, please watch his video it's 1st in my favorites. I am using my energy now to help others not get in our position. Around 24 is when your jaw stops growing, also around the time that my TMJ head aches kicked into full force. Best of luck, Carrie
Hi thanks for the reply. I contacted a couple of ortho's (I don't live in the States), and one said that he would use a TMJ splint to bring the jaw forward and then use Damon to bring the teeth out to that position, I was wondering if you have heard of that method?
Although, all of them seem to say everybody is different. There is another method I heard of which is to reopen the space but I am worried that it might make the TMJ problems worse if the ortho
Keep making these vids. The orthodontic community will be pissed. Haha! It's about time the public knew the truth. BTW keep the wisdoms. Sadly, I didn't. So I lost 7 teeth for nothing. Funny how these orthodontists are never held accountable.

This comment has received too many negative votes show
Step 1) Step away from the camera
Step 2) Get a fucking life
There are so many people who have real deformities. You don't need a doctor, you need psychotherapy.
"Like" this if you are watching this and agree.

I have the same problem and having less teeth than you but What's the solution? ccrieb?
lugana1000 4 months ago
@lugana1000
A splint and then reopen the gaps for implants, some functional orthos say it makes you look 10 years younger.
ccarrieb 4 months ago
@ccarrieb I think jaw surgery it's easier.
Because which gaps will be reopening for the implants?
And who will do this orthos or an oral surgeon?
lugana1000 4 months ago
@lugana1000
Jaw surgery is the worst move you can make, what ever is being cut away is not meant to be, and the condition usually returns.
