  • L'amour est à regarder quelqu'un mourir

  • Always love is watching someone die that's the way it is.

  • I always forget how much I love this song and video.

  • love is watching someone die

  • Oh i get it! does this count as being slow? but i just figured out that the girl who was trying to get his attention is Sarah. and shes dead so shes a ghost. Hes sitting there looking depressed because he just got back from the hospital to watch her die. the song is the story of the the hospital visit and the music video is the aftermath!

  • We destroy ourselves trying not to destroy eachother.

  • That's James Ransone! also known as ziggy from the wire...or Ray pearson from Generation Kill..or Tim from How to make it in America...or Nick from Treme!

  • Choreographing a dance to this. It's gonna be a tear-jerker.

  • @EmmaSkies I hope you upload it on youtube! I'll definitely watch it!

  • Absolutely amazing. I couldn't even blink...he would be a fool for not loving her. I like the interpretation that she's a ghost stuck in an endless loop of hopeless love, so great it you cringe! DC4C is the best!

  • Man, this video is so intense, especially when I interpret as her being a ghost stuck in a never ending loop, not realising she's dead, that's why he never responds till the last minute, cause he can't see or hear her. That's why she is all in white. And the song is so sad too T-T

  • il m'aime un peu, beaucoup, passionnément, à la folie, pas du tout =

you take a flower and strip it of its petals one by one saying this: he loves me a little, a lot, passionately, like crazy, not at all.

After so many years it is still brilliant.

  • Cool Story, Bro. Made me cry tears N' shit.

  • What a fool for not liking her.

  • @Fakedinosaur I don't think you "Get it." He DOES love her, as much as someone can love a ghost.

  • I always thought a la folie meant 'into madness'

  • wow people dislike this song really i never knew it was possible

  • is there somewhere a better quality version of this vid? i love it but can't watch it not bothered by the bad quality of this piece of art.

  • So the title for the album this was taken from, was really "Tiny Prayers to Father Time"

  • @theddrumdrummer6669 No, the album from which this song is taken is title "Plans"

  • love the concept, love the actors, love her handwriting

  • "so who is going to watch you die?"

Those lyrics are like taking one of Gokus kamahamaha waves straight to the heart.

    Intense.

  • I originally thought of these guys as more of a talentless boy band, but they're not bad. This song has pretty powerful lyrics actually.

  • @CodyHernek94 oh wow "a talentless boy band"? that opinion seriously couldnt be more wrong

  • @dancinfeevahh1695

you are right aobut what it says:) it the French version of "he loves me, he loves me not..."

    :)

  • This video is flawless.

  • This makes me want to cry everywhere

  • I watch this at least once a day lol

  • SHUT UP AND ENJOY THE MUSIC!

    ╭∩╮(︶︿︶)╭∩╮

  • So, it's probably been said somewhere in the comment archives, but what do the words she's writing mean?

  • @seagreenfloorboards u kno when a girl pluck a flower and saays "he loves me ha love me not"... well its just like that but in french. Just a little bit different. You can go on google translate for the exact translation.

  • @seagreenfloorboards woah, my grammer is bad lol.. my bad XD

  • @seagreenfloorboards

On the mirror she writes "He loves me". On her hand she writes "A little?" On the wall she writes "Very Much!" On his arm "passionately" On her leg she carves "With madness" And she finishes the sentence on the mirror "not at all."

  • guys seriously, are you really arguing about grammar?! jeez

  • @35wes What is the world without order?

  • Sorry just realized youtube is retarded and edits the second space out after a sentence.

  • man this makes me sad

  • My friend used this for his photo story project and it was awesome. i just had to come and check it out.

  • This may be dorky but I just watched Greys Anatomy season 8 episode 9. Brought me straight to this song

  • Last year on Halloween I lost my wife, prior to that I never heard the words of this song but now i hear the words all the time because they speak to what my last hours in the Hospital with her was like, every beep on the LCD took you a little further away from me....Love is watching someone die....

  • Beautiful :)

  • The dislike bar is as small as Justin Bieber's penis.

  • @youheapslovei I think it's as small as your penis.

  • @ColdHeartAssassin That's correct, considering that I don't have a penis.

  • No matter how many times i watch/listen to death cab i always end up crying. So damn beautiful man!

  • I love this song so much!!!!!

  • this is the real video?

  • @kimiko171 yes~

  • at 7:08 click 1:14

  • What Did All The Words she Wrote Saidd ??

  • @heyitskierra PLEASE I'D LIKE TO KNOQW!!!

  • @heyitskierra the mirror first said "he loves me", her hand said "a little", the wall said "a lot", her arm said "passionately", her leg said "madly",and at the end the mirror said "he loves me, not at all".

My french isn't that great, but I think that's what it said for the most part, hope I helped! :)

  • @dancinfeevahh1695 Oh Yeaah It Helped Thanksss ! :)

  • @heyitskierra Its French Im not sure but the lat thing she wrote on the mirror at the end said See you later

  • dear youtube, this video kept me through the most difficult time of my life, i beg you please do not take it down

  • PJ Ransone casually breaking my heart. Don't mind me, I'm just going to crawl in a corner and cry for the next 3 or 4 hours. This video is great though!

  • why do they want to take it down?

  • I don't remember this video being such terrible quality before... did someone reupload it?

  • i love this video...

  • The last line makes me fall apart..

  • Does is mean that love is watching someone die with watching being an action that love carries out or does it mean that love equals watching someone die?

  • @pronouncingvariables I took it as meaning being there with someone as they die is the ultimate show of your love for someone. It's very easy to get freaked out and want to distance yourself from a loved one that's dying because it's easier to let them go, but true love is holding on until the very last instant of life. Hence the singer staying in the waiting room and waiting for the nurse to give him the news and all he can think about is what she said: "Love is watching someone die."

  • on the mirror: "il m'aime" — he loves me … on her hand: "un peu" — … just a little bit? painted on the wall: "beaucoup" — … a lot? on her arm: "passionément" — … passionately? cut into her leg: "a la folie" — … unto madness? on the mirror, she adds: "il m'aime … pas du tout" — he does not love me at all.
  • this makes me so sad. its just such a beautiful song :]

  • Il m'aime = He loves me

un peu? = a little bit

    beaucoup = very much

    passionement = passionately

a la folie = to insanity

pas du tout = not at all

  • Comment removed

  • The mirror starts with "He loves me" - il m'aime then at the end she writes "Not at all" - Pas du tout.

  • What did she write on the wall? And her arm? And the mirror...?

  • @ForevermoreNevermore And her leg....?

  • @ForevermoreNevermore he loves me

    a little a lot ! passionately

    ... madly not at all

  • I hope this song never gets popular. Or more than it already is.

  • it looks like 36 people didnt understand what sarah said ..

  • i cant believe i had forgotten about this song

  • I couldn't be there. How do I console my family?;(

  • @hotnursenancy Honestly you can only be there to hold them and let them cry on your shoulder and cry with them. <3

  • Love is watching someone die.....who's gonna watch you die? I think this line is referring to the true love it requires to stay by someone's side and to aid them to the other side. It's a very deep thought that I think we all have at different times in our lives. Fantastic portrayal of the journey, I've been there....

  • Can someone tell me what the line' Love is watching someone die' means? I love this song but idk wat that means

  • My great-grandmother died last night after having a stroke three weeks ago, and this song describes the last three weeks in every single line.

"It stung like a violent wind that our memories depend on a faulty camera in our minds." Anyone who's watched someone suffer from Alzheimers for years knows how true that is. "A place where we only say goodbye." Pretty much defines Hospice. And especially "Love is watching someone die." I've definitely come to appreciate that line the last few weeks.

  • @geekspawngirl

I'm going throw this right now - my grandmother is dying ... I absolutely understand your words.

  • @tulud ._.

  • @tulud ghetto bigots

  • @YourSoulEmbarks

LOL fuck off this shit music is nothing compared to the classics

  • @tulud Gotta love the block feature :D

  • I just saw em at Red Rocks tonight, awesome show

  • As each descending peak on the LCD

Took you a little farther away from me<3

  • 34 now! D:

  • such a beautiful video. brings tears to my eyes.

  • Hah, I'm messing. ;) Thanks for posting the video. Beautifully sad.

  • I know, right? People need to punctuate correctly.

  • @Shadowinchester Let's cook Grandma!! .... Or Let's cook, Grandma!!

RIght you are. Punctuation saves lives.

  • @DarkSideOfTheMoon991

The panda eats shoots and leaves. The panda eats, shoots, and leaves.

  • @Shadowinchester If you are going to be a grammar/punctuation Nazi, at least put a second space after your question mark.

  • @Chrislyons1012 Were you just born stupid..?

  • @Shadowinchester So you replied with an insult. Do you have anything more creative than to revert to one of the oldest most played out generic internet insults in existence, calling someone a kid, or young? You corrected someone's grammar and in the process made a grammatical error. Get over it.

  • @Chrislyons1012 its just youtube guys, not freshman english.

  • @BgoshJosh Agreed, that was the point of my post. It's the internet... The home of gross misspelling and improper grammar. Well, the second home, after the entire south US. I play games online and hate when people criticize grammar, it usually comes after they have lost some sort of argument and the only way that they can continue or turn it around is to A. Call them a kid B. Criticize punctuation. This is a universal in all games I've played

  • @Chrislyons1012 I don't understand the necessity for grammar and punctuation on the internet. In the case of : "Let's eat Grandma." and "Let's eat, Grandma." just through common sense and reading the statements made before and after that sentence, (excluding grammatical criticism) you can deduce the implication that you want to suggest or command for YOU and your grandma, to go eat something, not the other way around.

  • @Chrislyons1012 Shut the fuck up and barbecue your grandfather's wife already.

  • @Shadowinchester guys chill, you're missing the video.

  • my favorite song of all times.

  • 33 people dont have a brain.

  • @checkyourpocketsx i know right?

  • Comment removed

  • James Ransone makes that character so powerful by...barely doing anything at all. I think that's what made it so powerful. Beautiful video.

  • and then i look right under what i posted and feel like an absolute idiot(:

  • can someone please post the translation's of what she wrote, they seem to be in french and i am very curious. please please post them if you can translate.

  • anyone can translate what she is writing?

  • first thing she writes: he loves me

    second: alot

on her leg: this is madness

last on mirror: not at all (entire sentence on mirror reads he doesn't love me at all)

  • @rtea730 thank yooou <3

and ohmygod story of my life. now that i rewatch this im like bawling my eyes out

  • Would've been nice to understand what she was writing:)

  • @thewhowontgetfooled first she writes on the mirror 'he loves me', on her hand stand 'a bit?' on the wall 'alot', on her arm 'passionate' and on her leg 'crazy'. after that she finished the sentence on the mirror 'he doesn't love me at all'. at the end it just means 'he loves me' again.

i hope i didn't make any mistakes, i'm german so my english might be not the best :D

  • MY PROF TOLD ME THAT THE CONCEPT OF THIS VIDEO IS A SIMPLY "HE LOVES ME, HE LOVES ME NOT.." CONCEPT. :)

  • This is the greatest video I have ever seen in my life.

  • what language is it theyre speaking?

  • @xxaviatakidxx French

  • @xxaviatakidxx french

  • When my freind convinced me to watch this video....at frist i was confused and depressed for them, but as i read the lyrics and watched and listened again....i began to cry. and i thought, "Why am i crying? i can't stop crying...let this heartache stop..."

  • Sara said love is wataching some one die ...so who's going to watch you die?

  • i love this vid. its so sad but one of the best

  • This is such a beautiful piece of work. I love the concept of it and the powerful emotion it evokes.

  • i'm a guy and i'm not afraid to admit that this song makes me tear up

  • Even though its probably not significant to any of wat happens in the video, how or maybe why does the water faucet turn off by itself in 6:24? Both her hands were clearly on her face.

  • this song always reminds me of the end of Odd Thomas and i get really sad, if you've read the book you know what i'm talking about.

  • Why is it only showing my views? :o

  • Lil Ray Ray says "Word to the motherfucking street, yo."

  • 31 people don't have someone to watch them die.

  • Guys, youtube wants to take this video down (like every video). Im working hard on keeping this video here until i die. Thanks for your support. :)

  • @35wes rename it

  • @35wes I hope they don't. This video always makes me feel better. ):

  • @35wes why would they ever want to remove this piece of amazing artwork?

  • @35wes, Yay for you for sharing this song with me. This is the first time I've heard it, and I'm practically crying on my keyboard. Great song!! I give you thumbs up.

Youtube, you suck for trying to take it down!!!!!! I give you thumbs down!

  • @35wes Thanks you !!!!! :)

  • I've no one who would watch me die... </3

  • @inaniell1 don't die man

  • what did sarah say ?

  • @popeStatus4 "Love is watching someone die."

  • il m'aime pas du tout

  • this is therapy

  • who will see me die?

  • he loves me.

  • this song is incredibly sad. I love it though. Love is watching/ being there for someone as they die.. no one wants to dies alone. When i watched this video(nothing to do with the song btw, just the vid) it made me smile a bit. Because MY name is Sara and I speak/learn french as a second language..... It's just one of those dorky things...

  • love is watching someone die

  • Can't stop thinking about him.

    Can't stop the tears.

    Can't stop the pain.

    Can't stop the blood.

    Can't stop the want.

    Can't stop loving him.

Can't stop listening to this damn song.

  • she is not actually there, the songs represents her, that why he has it on repeat. He was in the ICU if you listen to the lyrics but didn't go in to see her as she was dying, the nurse delivered the news to him. He remembers what she said to him: love is watching someone die. He didn't watch her die so now he is extremely upset with himself, and she feels like he didn't love her which is why she plays that French Game of love me, love me not, and ends with he does not love me at all.

  • @KCkoolaidking OMG i didn't understand it before. I got the video, and i got the song, but i didn't get what they had to do w/ each other, but you did it. you're a genius

  • @KCkoolaidking this song was already emotional, you explaining it made it even more emotional.

  • @KCkoolaidking on the mirror: "il m'aime" — he loves me … on her hand: "un peu" — … just a little bit? painted on the wall: "beaucoup" — … a lot? on her arm: "passionément" — … passionately? cut into her leg: "a la folie" — … unto madness? on the mirror, she adds: "il m'aime … pas du tout" — he does not love me at all. I loved your comment, but i felt that maybe people might want to know what she wrote XD
  • @KCkoolaidking That does make sense. At first I thought it was him who was sick, but the line saying there is no comfort in the waiting room shows otherwise. Usually people try so hard to interpret the meaning, when really it's pretty dry-cut and simple. But that's the beauty of artists...they know how to make turn something simple into something beautiful. Well done. : )

  • just an incredibly gripping, fantastic interpretation of the song

  • Possibly the saddest song ever.

  • :'( this is so sadd:( I learned the beginning piano to this song. the piano is lovely

  • i really don't know what is worse - to never fall in love with each other or to fall in it and lose that .

  • (continued) 30 people dont know the true pain of losing a loved one and how hard it is not having them there every day, when you have expected them for a very long time. ( i never thought that someone could say "piss" with such grace). R.I.P. - My Dear Sweet Baby Boy Payton, i hope to see you again one day :')

  • he cant see her or feel or or feel her, so she trys to get his attention by writing things that they once had all around. she has died and he cant handle it. (i have to look away when she cuts herself). this song and video speak a lot to me. i have go through this myself, watching someone die, and it is sad, but i stayed with them until the end. the never ending pain of a loss of someone is shown by the writing being done over and over again, and the music replaying. (continues above)

  • It stung like a violent wind

    That our memories depend

    On a faulty camera

    In our

    Minds.

  • But love is watchin( someone die.

  • Who's Sarah?

  • 30 people didn't know what Sarah said.

  • Sad :(

  • @ryantyler2230 she said love is watching someone die

  • captivating.

  • @ryantyler2230 dont beg for thumbs up its pathetic. beautiful song and video.
