  • Good close quarter techniques here, and great defensive reversals. If you enjoy Kali but want something more street applicable (I am a cop), then I would also highly recommend Krav Maga.

  • I like Filipino Martial Arts even i'm from Japan

  • i thought Taijutsu was empty hand combat

  • @ZachFire101

Taijutsu is a genaric term for japanese empty hand combat. This is Kali/FMA which was used by the Filipino Maro. Hope that was of some help.

  • @PDunkel66 - do you mean Moro? note that Moro never uses FMA or Kali, I know that they have Martial arts but not Kali..probably a form of Silat..

  • So, this is wut my dad was teaching

  • I use eskrima rattan ......

  • That section with the Sarong was terribly awesome... XD

  • whats this song called plz tell m asap if anyone knows

  • whats this song called plz help me

  • hey i play judo and takekwondo i newley heard bout this style of martial arts its rly gr8 but we dont have it in here so i got to learn it on u tube how many time u think i well replay this videos untell i learn :D

  • if you look carefully the martial arts that jackie chan used some of it are filipino martial arts and if you watch UFC at 1:02 that is the famous lock right and its the filipino who inveted it

    go Philippines

  • It's Panuntukan, not panatukan. Panuntukan came from the root word "suntok", which means punch. :)

    P.S. I'm Filipino.

  • @jmattdai - its panantukan. not panuntukan. do your research bro. nakikinig mo lang ata sa mga kanto yung panuntukan eh kaya kala mo yun na yun. :) peace

  • I've just b egun my fma and penckgat silat training at 'old dragon' kung fu san soo studio in oceanside,ca and can honestly say it is truly real time streetfighting combat arts.wether it's empty or w/sticks,knives or sarongs,it's quick and efficient.

  • I like Matt Whites Karambit performance. it looks like a very direct and efficient form. Which is great for hand to hand combat.

  • this is not an FMA. and what's with that cloth.that's not a part of FMA.

  • What an amazing MA..My knowledge of your arts is rudimentary at best..I'm coming to the Phillippines later this year where I hope to receive practical instruction..Thankyou for the vid..Jason(New Zealand)

  • wrong FMA bow!!!!.......

  • The fuck? as far as I knew, we fought with yoyos! this is cool

  • @alyek321 hmm.. i'll do some digging but i'm not surprised that jkd has fma principles. bruce worked w/ dan inosanto to develop jkd. as for the take-downs and locks you mentioned you're right, they do look like filipino kuntao and a little bit of sliat but some of them also resemble japanese jujitsu a little bit.

  • I really wouldn't put music in martial arts videos because it sometimes can distract the mind, and people wouldnt really be able to see the full meaning and way of the technique that a martial artist is using, but anyway great vid.

  • huh? in filipino arts needed to wear kimono? I thought it has own wear style? I don't get it......

  • It looks better then Brazilian jiu jitsu. BJJ is down right gay.

  • i have a master bu im not alloud to say his name he only thought me karambit but im hpinghe could touch me the others to

  • fuck who teach you those moves!!! one of deadly marial arts of the philippines i hope they dont learn arnis pwahahahaha

  • wow this showed up while im searching FULL METAL ALCHEMIST :|

  • IF WE WERE ALL AT WAR YOU'D WISH YOU KNEW FMA:

    - Brutal

    - Effective

    -No show boating

    -Absolutely deadly

Every JASON BOURNE would know these tactics like the back of his hand.

Learn how to protect your family, FMA.

  • i would like to learn "panantukan" Filipino boxing, been researching for a while, but i live in Canada and am not of Filipino decent and cant to find any schools or teachers.

  • Mabuhay ang Filipino Martial Arts!!!

  • Cool!!カッコいい!!

  • Nice Demo

  • such an amazing martial art.

  • hmm.. didn't expect my comments to be rated 2nd highest.. thanks guys! :D

  • I have a lot of respect for this martial art. It's history dates back when the tribal men fended the Spanish off from there island many many decades ago. And if it was enough to flat out obliterate the conquistadors into retreating, it must be bad ass.

  • I am not from the Phillipines, but after watching this video, I would love to learn this art. I am a black belt in Okinawan Karate, which is a great style. I have been obsessed with Bruce Lee's style, Jeet Kune Do, which borrows heavily from many of the techniques in this video. Awesome!

  • Kudos guys, this was really good! Mabuhay ang Cebu

  • awesome, +10

  • My favorite part was either with the Sarong/Marong or the Karambit.

  • did u guys notice that none of the names shown in the beginning sound filipino

  • I love it.

  • damn wish they had a gym for this in the bahamas would really help my fundamentals for how i fight but i still dont like how i am always mixing striking with arm locks and grappling it bothers me is this bad or good? Or I am just over dramtizing the situation

  • @gangpopeye Watch USUERU videos.

  • my dad teaches this vary hard to lean

  • Great technique! Smooth and deadly. Just the way the martial arts were intended to be. If anybody could tell me the name of the song used it would be much appreciated.

  • oh boris there is a 3rd principle,

don't get tied in too much to set principles :)

  • where can i get the sash from. I am looking for a sash for my kids class to avoid the whole belt thing.

    tnxs

  • there are only 2 principles in Filipino martial arts and Filipino fighting,

1.) Get away from danger if there is still a way to get away from it.

2.) If there's none then " ATTACK, ATTACK and more ATTACK" the opponent, Filipinos call this the "BAHALA NA" Principle..

  • @borisblues

man this is soo true, even the kids i grew up with and take care of back in Philippines have this mentality.

  • ever wonder y a lot of professional boxing coaches wonder y or how manny pacman move so fast?, manny mixes filipino martial arts and professional boxing, check out his foot work, it's similar from arnis skrima etc. and also check his lateral movements, it's from knife fighting techniques from filipinos' MA pacmans history came from a dark street life survival fighting...

  • Philippines is home to the best fighting styles in the world by quite a large margin. The speed and flexibility is unmatched from what I've seen.

  • actually many of us Filipinos now this MA system,,, but since life in the philippines is hard they cant spare some time learning this.... all of their time are devoted to work... so never always think about many of us Filipinos never knew this MA exists

  • Comment removed

  • Simply Amazing!

  • TRUE SHIT !!!

  • it's a shame that a majority of our brothers and sisters are ignorant of this art w/c is ours.. they'd rather take up foreign arts like tae kwon do or karate when they could take up fma, a system bred here in our homeland meant for glorious war and self-defense.. a unique art that teaches adaptability, cunning and respect.. i hope that in the future more pinoys will take an interest to our own martial art..

  • @lavatun how true u are but some places in philippines like mindanao or visayas dont have dojos about fma.........

  • @halleljk which is a shame.. it's not their fault for learning what is available but it's still unfortunate that a lot of pinoys aren't interested in our own fighting system..

  • @lavatun yea it is and when som1 sees this vid and hes like real old hes gonna regret that all hes life being young ....and he did not learn fma or even new about it.......that just heartache man.........

  • @lavatun

well in all honesty probably not a lot of fillo's know this actually exists, not to mention there arnt too many places to learn. Dont put people down for not knowing.

  • @neoknux009 i know.. and you're right, there aren't a lot of places to learn, ya gotta look for them w/ other people who have actually trained at these places.. it's still a relatively secretive art in the philippines.. still, it would feel good to see our kababayans learn.. :D

  • @lavatun Agreed.

  • @lavatun that day might actually happen; I'm white caucasian but I definently taken up classes once my Tae Kwon Do shift is over.

  • @DaddyWarbucks452 i hope so..

  • @lavatun - I'm with your there Bro.!!! 100% KALI ...KALIKASAN NG DIGMAAN!!!

  • @lavatun I like your patriotism and i want to learn this art but i cannot find this here in the philippines so i end up learning from masters of other arts like capoeira, muay thai, tai chi chuan, karate, taekwondo and boxing. Drop me a message if you know anyone in the philippines are still teaching in the philippines and not overseas and i would gladly be their student.

P.S. Kali is not for me. Empty hands are what suit me best...

  • @blakwingz the way we train in fma is different. we start off w/ weapons first then progress to smaller & smaller weapons then finally to empty hands. but it depends on what style of fma you want to train. i was trained in dumaguete, negros oriental and our master taught us in a way that emphasizes the relation between armed and unarmed combat. ex: we train in sticks then knife then palmspike then empty hands then back to stick but w/ different movements. it's hard to explain w/o demonstrating.

  • @lavatun Iam is college here in the US with a young lady who is from the Phillipines. I have studied Pitiki Tirsia previously and loved it until my instructor moved ......the young lady I mentioned had no idea that the phillipines even HAD indegionous martial arts. She was born and raised in the Phillipines and didnt leave until she was 20.

  • Comment removed

  • @kensai1968 that's just sad for me. this martial art is more known to foreigners than to pinoys who were born and grew up here in the philippines. i know it's not their fault but it's still a shame.

  • @lavatun Yep true to that, I'm filipino and when I found out about filipnio martial arts I really got interested in studying it.

  • @Lemuel117 that's good. :D ever noticed that for some reason it's easy to learn but hard to perfect even the basics? not to mention it's unnecessarily brutal.

  • @lavatun yeah I have noticed that, I want to learn this martial arts really bad like for example if some random person picked a fight with me and if I knew this martial art they are going to wish they never messed with me.

  • @Lemuel117 my master asked me and my friend why we wanted to learn. we told him for self-defense and it was true but he warned us that if he finds out that we used what we learned to pick fights he'll banish us from his training house. i've never used what i learned to defend myself so far and personally i hope it stays that way but i still practice to keep myself sharp.

  • @lavatun, i doubt that, i believe most filipinos know about their ma but i agree that it was as not popular as karate or tae kwon do but is now gaining popularity. fma's name also differs and depends on which part of PI you are. in luzon, fma is known as arnis, in visayas it is escrima and in mindanao it is kali. being ignorant and preferring another are not the same. during marcos and cory's time, arnis was integrated in physical education in all colleges and universities in the philippines.

  • @lavatun

You're actually fortunate you still have your MAs. My people lost our MAs when the white man came and raped the minds of my ancestors with Christian propaganda. The white evangelists changed everything so that even our martial dances have become a source of ridicule and jest. Few people practice them anymore and even fewer know what the moves really mean. I'd say you're lucky because you can make a serious difference in your country.

  • @AintNoSuperiorStyle truly unfortunate.. where do you come from brother? do you still practice your people's arts?

  • @lavatun

My father's ancestors were from Tonga, a country that had a maritime empire in the S. Pacific. We have Asian MAs now like ITF & WTF tkd, judo, soobahkdo and sumo but the native arts are all but dead. One dance, Soke, is all about using two sticks against the staff but is a dance reserved for kids. To see adults performing it warrants personal & public ridicule so it almost never happens.

  • @AintNoSuperiorStyle interesting.. by the way you described it, it has similarities to FMA stick work.. i'll do some digging on this.. why not try to propagate this martial art?..

  • Comment removed

  • @lavatun

The soke works in a 1on 1, 2 on 2, & 1 on 4 pattern initially. Then, to accommodate positioning, a dancer moves parallel to the opposite side along the rows while exchanging blows with the others. Obviously, the longer the line, the more the practice. However, the younger generation have no idea that this dance teaches stick fighting & many of the dance teachers haven't realized it yet either. In short, it sucks.

  • @lavatun Those moves like most other Filipino arts are integrated with Japanese or Chinese arts. You can see a lot of linear Karate and circular kungfu there with some juijitsu judo throws and locks. The only original Filipino Arts that has unique moves totally different from other arts was also called Eskrima but it was an older version. It was demonstrated by one of the Original Doce Paris in Cebu. Unfortunately newer Eskrima burried those techniques with integration from foriegn arts.

  • @padukamahasari yes, very true. it's very hard to find fma w/ just that. fma. most of modern fma's moves now have been supplimented w/ other martial arts moves. doesn't necessarily make them less efficient and effective but it does make them somewhat "un-filipino"

  • @lavatun all martail arts teach u respect adaptability and cunning boss.

  • @pezilla123 true.. :D you gotta admit though, most martial arts are sneakier than others. take wing chun for example. "sticky hands" will give any martial art a hard time if done by a competent wing chun fighter. i think the equivalent of sticky hands we have in arnis/eskrima/kali is palit-palit.

  • @lavatun i do muay thai so i dont know what sticky hands means lol explain?

  • @pezilla123 cool.. :D brutally direct and uncompromising, muay thai. sticky hands from wing chun is like a chess game involving parries, feints and blocks that lead your opponent constantly guessing about what you're gonna do next at in-your-face close range. can't really explain in full detail coz i don't practice wing chun though i've seen it in action. :D i think it's better if you watch a vid about wing chun's sticky hands.

  • @lavatun thats pretty cool i looked it up looks hard lol

  • @pezilla123 yes, yes it is. XD and yet it's unbelievably fun. :D palit-palit has a similar concept but different movements.

  • Another hidden gem exclusive to the Philippines that most of us kababayans dont even know exists. Not meaning to offend the guys here (or any non-filipino watching), they did great, but are we letting people like them take advantage of this beautiful thing, like how foreigners control Filipinos in Makati? Let's own this field, just like how Koreans own Taekwondo and how the Japanese own Karate.

  • most filipino martial art is self defense against stick and knife attack..

  • did you guys using som Ju-Jitsu and aikido techniques?

  • i got into a fight the other day and i used panaktucan to take this sucker down and it was freakn awesome

  • As a half filipino *other half russian* who has lived in both America and the Philippines, people need to chill out about the racist jokes. At least foreigners take an interest in FMA just give them some brownie points there, and people that hate/ are being racist against filipinos about their fighting *two names for you* batista and manny pacquiao, don't tell us we suck until you faced the best of us.

  • i know the best school who teaches fma... pma...

  • good but in a real fight techno music isnt going to be in the background nice demo

  • 2:08 - 2:10 nutshot!!!

  • Comment removed

  • @policeluigi lol... we all have instinct to fight... but the only difference is how we fight... some know ordinary street fight skills, or kali or FMA, etc... I do FMA and i have gun...

  • Good to see you practicing FMA. Work on making your demos more realistic.

  • @unclebraddah

    can u do better?

  • This is sooo funny, haha!

  • Truly awesome. I've come from European Traditional WC background and started learning this art, its brilliant, and you chaps just did it a world of justice.

  • beautiful... but if you want to make it better, you must remove your shoes and upper garments, do it outside, in the soil - feel the earth and become part of it.

  • It is good but too showy... I could understand being like this if you are doing forms, but if you actually train to fight like you are in a movie that is not good

  • fight like you train. train like you fight. all nonsense..

  • damn! thats nasty! i never thought such art would originate in our country. . .

  • he should play in a Jackie Chan or Tony Jaa film

  • That sarong style was awesome totally unpredictable. Ive never seen a style like that before.

  • @MrLouieG maaan please dont talk to many shit like that.please waste the time of another people with these bullshit comments.ohh god

  • @Fight4YourDreams that is the truth.i hope filipinos read this.

  • @MrLouieG i beg 2 differ, there are still those who are dedicated to FMA such as me and my peers, though it is disappointing there are some who would rather learn other arts, but that is their decision and not a soul in this would is entitled to criticize their lifestyle, the best we can do is encourage others in learning our martial art

  • @Archfiend1900

    dude that was great! :]

    thumbs up yo

    þïñÖÿ Pride! :]]

  • @MrLouieG no ur stupid fuk ur country

  • goddamn

  • @policeluigi yeh!, if you go to europe you will get your ass kicked and so as in asia, speccially in the philippines.BUT!the only difference is that, asia has ass kicken ,head banging, bone crashing, balls smashing MARTIAL ARTS!...hope you remember that.

  • the best knife attack and defense in the world are found here in philippines...

  • i am a filipino and a practitioner of filipino martial arts at the same time... therefore as a mixed martial artist, i know the limitations of our art.. its a copy from all sorts of art.. although i am ashamed to tell you, its not even a perfect copy...

  • this is the Philippine martial arts and its called eskrima people who practice eskrima is called eskrimadors, you know they should put a filipino in teken 7

    martial arts called eskrima

  • uh... halo-halo ata.

  • im a filipino and believe me the techniques are imperfect copies of other martial arts mixed together

  • I agree I saw som tapi tapi but I allso saw move from jujitsu karate and funokata

  • bullshit bullshit bullshit and again bullshit.people like you shut up please.you dont know what are you talking so please.........

  • Comment removed

  • @harrygats i wouldn't say "imperfect copies" of other martial arts.. it is true that all forms of fma are descended from malaysian, chinese and japanese martial arts but along the way its development they evolved into something different.. this form of martial art has been tested and proven to be effective since the olden days, days before the time of lapu-lapu. it's an old art, not as old as other more well-known martial arts but there is a reason why other countries use our system. . it works.

  • Awesome demo. Wish you were in my part of the country.

  • Very nice demo!

  • nice work guys!

  • shut up rumaidane!!!theyr good.even i cant do that!thats different than my empty handed style.but it is better

  • They got it all wrong. Fucking bunch of white idiotic bastards.

  • y'all should be nice nd dey be apreciatin our martial arts.... they are some of the few of the guys who still do that...

  • magandang maganda, nice flow.

  • theyre good

  • Americanos r shit at using our MARTIAL ARTS!!!!

  • Are you a martial artist yourself? You sound like a punk with that attitude.

Yeah a lot of americans suck, at a lot of things.

Isn't it the same everywhere though?

Mediocrity is all over the world, not just here boy.

Can't imagine you're any good yourself if this is how you spend your free time.

  • yea fuckwit iam actually im number 1 in Australia for Muay Thai, Kickboxing and im only 16 n i verse 20 yr olds so fuck off buddy dont try n talk me down u low life cunt

  • Then ask your teacher for a lesson in humility boy.

I could care less what you say you are on the internet. With a mouth like yours it's only a matter of time before someone puts you in your place.

  • hhaha fuck ur funny i have Respect for all fighters even if there not good, thats what its all about learning, respecting, control and self descpline as a fighter! i can tell you right now i know im not the best theres no such thing as the best fighter trust me i've had my times when i have lost my fights n bouts but i dont mind coz i respect fighters that work their arse off training to be a good fighter and win a fight or bout so dont talk to me as if im up myself

  • WTF?

One moment you're crazy arrogant, the next moment you're all Mr. Discipline.

You're either crazy, or fucking with me.

I'll have no part in this. Good day sir!

  • umm no im not crazy! i wasnt even being arrogant at the start

  • Number 1 in Australia? I seriously doubt that. And by seriously, I mean no way in hell. What's your name? Number 1 in what organization? What notable awards have you gotten?

  • so if i google your name i should it no problem?

  • @Zombiebloodfeast Ya i seriously doubt #1 in Australia would have that attitude. And its possible but if hes Filipino why is he #1 in Australia? And his grammar is horrible. Anybody can say anything over the internet. While im at it, ld just like to say that i am Lord Poopy McWedge the 3rd and i rule all of Europe and i have 4 wives who are all actresses and im a blackbelt in every martial art. Im #1 in the U.S. and im 3 years old and vs. 20 year olds. I'm so good they call me a rainbow belt.

  • lol

    The cavalry has arrived.

    @orenmcgrath & LoosaFace

All good points. I'm curious too now that you're asking.

I vote crazy. That and little to no real MA background.

Shhhhh, careful, he's a "soulja". He'll come do arrogantly mediocre dance move all over yo face.

  • @Zombiebloodfeast Make that a Rambo belt LOL

  • @thegamerman7 ha! sweet. . . rainbow belt.. XD

  • americans doesnt have their own war so they find war in other countries... like for example... world war 2, gulf war, war in iraq, vietnam war,.. america is in need a lot of attention...

  • weew... nice... the new ratio fighting today is 1 filipino is to 20 americans... haha... running is the new martial arts of the americans,.... hahaha

  • their would be no philippines if it wasnt for america. learn your history.

  • haha.. u learn your history.

US are total meddlers. Their intention was not to help us. US exploited our country. Bringing ethnic Filipinos living in the mountains like the Aetas to show the American population during that time that Filipinos were still barbaric.

I totally believe we were going to be just fine without your said help fighting off the Spanish colonizers.

  • I can't argue with ignorance.

  • dont forget portigul

  • @uglybetty40891 i agree tottally agree. but do not forget general douglas macarthur when his words 'i shall return'' echoed in our hearts and gave us strengh and courage during japanese occupation

  • @kenshin9518.. haha.. the Americans are not proud of being called quitters and such. We were under their rule so they could not abandon us, and letting us go and be captured by the Japs is a sign of weakness...

anyways, all is past. But I just can't let anyone who have superiority complex tell us that because of them we lived. Filipino pride! I wish Britain occupied us, most country they occupied are great now, specifically HK, and i luv that accent. :D

  • @uglybetty40891 traitors like u need to get hanged

  • @skrud151 Am I a traitor because you benefit from being a Fil-Am?

  • 5/5

  • go to the philippines ill kill you ^^

  • sweet
