The speech at the end is just beautiful, I wish I could see more of Micheal Vincent
***Spoiler***
A cooler is a cold deck of cards- bringing in a deck he wasn't previously working with (which would be a hot deck).
You see him at 4.57 just before the camera cuts away rech into pockets with both of his hands. At this point he will put one deck into one pocket and take our another deck from the other pocket.
everyone says about i know how thats done its switching decks, but thats part of it, it's how u conceal the deck switch, and this guy does it so good, as penn said this is not hours, days, its decades of practice. but damn seeing that makes it so worth it not just for us the viewers, but for the man who has dedicated his life to making other people amazed, you should so have gone to vegas, i would certainly pay to see you do your job close up. :)
michael vincent, your are my favorite performance, iam a brazilian guy, and every day i see this movie, because was a perfect performance, perfect moves, perfect talk, perfect hands, thank you, for show me the beauty to work with cards
I av figoured out the whole of this rountine and yes there is a deck switch when he pulls the box out of his pocket is when he does it, and btw to do this routine you have gt to have big hands.
michael vincent is a magic legend with a set of some of the best hands in the business, you can buy his dvds but this trick will never taught he publishes great modern classics.even if you bought his dvds, you'd never reach the technical mastery he has.
@Kunkushun1 there is not tutorial for how to do that! ITs just practice, Learning basic moves and stringing them together with colour changes and fast hands.
@TomWhelan1994 Mate, make your mind up?!?! First you say "He does not use a deck switch", check your own post if you've forgot, it's just below. Now you're saying "Yes I know he used a deck switch", so which is it??? And if it's not at the point I said would you kindly explain to me when and where he does 'switch the deck', as I'd be interested to know. You clearly know more than everyone else on the internet, when you can make your mind up, that is.
@DAW1968 Right, at the point that you specified, he performs a classic pass. After my first comment, I thought that I commented again saying "at that specific point", but obviously not. He performs the deck switch just before he sits down- you can't even see it properly in this video. And no I am not smarter than everyone else on the internet, I just don't jump to conclusions... mate.
@TomWhelan1994 Yes I believe he did switch decks when he sat down now that you mention it but it was not something he did mid-trick that would have had an effect on a trick during it, rather it was obviously a set up deck for the next trick.
@TomWhelan1994 He's asked at the end if he 'rung in a cooler' to which he admits he did. 'Cooler' being the term for another deck of cards, i.e. a deck switch. There's no 'trick' deck but he does switch decks, that's how it's done.
We might KNOW how a juggler juggles 12 items: he catches them and throws them back up in the air; but that does not make it any less impressive. Same with Vincent; we KNOW it's slight of hand, but it is still magical to watch him pull it off in front of our eyes and completely negate what every sense in our body is telling us is supposed to happen.
@woodshuck i agreee in abundance, its not just his magic, its his speech. He talks about it so passionately. To do the magic is one thing but to talk as confident and as good as that is amazing. He is one of my favourite magician.
When you really look at it, one of the major moves was really blatant but it went unnoticed (by the audience at least) because of the wonderful misdirection.
