@nobodysperfect06 No Bandai is TakaraTomy and Hasbro's rivals and they made gobots with tonka. However Skyfire was a repainted VF-1 Valkyrie from Macross/Robotech, and I think Roadbuster and some other Transformers originally from the Dorvack line. Both Dorvack and Macross toys were made by Takatoku Toys who gave the molds to Hasbro. Although Bandai owns Takataoku now, they didn't when Skyfire and Roadbuster were sold so Bandai has never made any toys for Transformers.
The American opening should have used the axe/mace fight. But, as nice as it is that they didn't use the screechy voice from American season 1, a female voice just doesn't suit it.
There's a part in this intro that show's it all.. The great Optimus Prime looking ..and then all the autobots, everytime I see that I know what a leader must be!
What are you talking about Optimus and Megatron had the energy weapons in the american cartoon also(1 episode). And as far as music the american version kills the crappy Jpop opening and its shorter.
Deeper meaning, in this song? It seems you don't speak Japanese and are relying on subtitles only. There is no "deeper meaning" and a majority of anime nowadays with this so called deeper meaning is either cliche or just pure crap. By the way, Transformers is American, not Japanese. See my other posts for info.
You are right with regards the stories and idea of the Transformers that is American. The actual toys though are just a bunch of Japanese toys from the late 70s early 80s from different lines put together.
Yes, I know, and had a few in my childhood days: Diaclones, Microman, Waruder, etc. But as I keep telling everyone, they were just toys with minimal storylines, and were more mech, completely different than what Hasbro/Marvel turned into TF.
Exactly, this is where the confusion lies. The toys are Japanese, the stories American with regards cartoon and American/British with regards the comic as Simon Furman wrote a lot of stories that were only in the UK comic as it was weekly rather than monthly.
I agree with you 100%. The show is American , I've had to deal with idiots who fabricate their own ideas making up bullshit saying it's Japanese when infact it's not . It only says at the end of every show " A Marvel and Sunbow " Production, two American companies . I'm telling you some people are really dumb and they try and fight their hardest to say it's Japanese . Lol I had some idiot today tell me it's the same animators as DBZ.
It was animated in Japan by Toei Daga Productions; their credit also appears at the end too. Later seasons Nelson Shin's Korean production took over but certain episodes was still animated in Japan. Toei also animated the movie.
'Didn't feel like the transformers?' 'It isnt the same?' Did you miss the emblems, transformations, Spike & Daniel, Optimus Prime dying again, Cybertron exploding, Galvatron drowning, and Ultra Magnus dying when you watched Headmasters? All that show did was skip over the G1 'Rebirth' series finale and continued from it.
you're talking about the few episodes of the headmasters that were acted out by the REAL american actors...... those had the same feel... im talking about the rest of the series once it was taken over completly by the japanese. The episdose they introduce the headmasters werent taken well in the USA so they stop production for it here but continued on.
I'm from the US and I must say I liked the Japanese shows. They were less toy commercials and more story developed with lots more ass-kicking. Some fights in Headmasters even had 'knee shots'!
the action wasnt bad..... but they didnt feel like the transformers. I dont know about you but i grew up watching TF and when i saw it It wasnt watchable because of that reason. Same reason I cant watch the new TF's .... it isnt the same.
"less toy commercials" ARE YOU JOKING. After the japs got ahold of the show all they did was completely wiegh down the characters with lame gimmick after lame gimmick only as an attempt to sell more toys. The jap series suck balls in this reard. There wasnt a worth while transformers series since the Canadian's came out with beast wars.
if you are interested ... the names of the japanese series are .... let me think... Transformers the headmasters, Transformers Super God Master force, transformers victory and transformers Zone.... if you liked the original TF's be prepared to puke.
I thought most of the artists were Korean because Japan does a lot of its cell work in Korea. If you look at the closing credits there are a lot of Korean names mentioned.
I dont know...if you watch the english version, especially the music, this version seems more..."mature", if you know what I mean. The english one never showed Optimus and Megatron with the energon combat weapons, but of course the US toy version never came with them anyway.
I think I like this one a bit more than the american version
