Best tip, for that very first, front piece, point the metal pin open, facing FORWARD and a wee bit downward. the bottom "tooth" will rest on your head/forehead-ish and just with gravity and you looking a little down, reaching and all, it'll hold it against your head like a "kick-stand"... weird I know... but TRY IT!! I only use the pins too!
the way you are rolling the rollers on your hair is not goin to be tight, and, also, the way you roll it its not going to give you the volume you are looking for you woulld have to tease the hell out of the hair and put mega hair spray, so i give your tutorial vid a one star, ntot everybody can afford aveda. mis prizz
yeah , aveda is great for you but its very expensive and its not really all that good specially for people that are allergic to plants base products and aveda test their products with animals like monkeys and thats the truth
