  • NO way you're short. :p

  • I agree with BernardProfitendieu. My lower contours need pleats. See I have a chunky rear and muscular legs. Flats would never work for me. Pleats all the way. But oh well, I've never been a trend follower. My philosophy is do exactly the opposite of what the trendies are doing. At least your being an individual and not following the herd!

  • @cflingo211 Pleats are here to stay!!!

they may not be the #1 fasion for mens pants but they never go out of style.

read GQ look at the pics not all of the pants are flat fron alot have single pleats on the front. Pleats are more practical give you more room in the front. i got 1 pair of flat fronts they look cool on me but they are the only ones that do. i have a hard time pulling off the flat fron look because iam not a skinny twat

  • Aaron there will come a day when you will be pushing the 'pleated' pant, that's when it comes back in fashion god help us... because it will come back. Later rather than sooner i hope )

  • What if you are a bigger guy with chunky legs? Wouldn't pleats make more sense?

  • @Speed00007 pleats arn't completely out of style. read GQ plenty of pants on thier maga zeen have a single pleat

  • Aaron, can I safely get rid of all the pleated pants I own? Or should I hang on to them in case they ever come back in style?

  • pleated pants are the only pants they sell, if your going for a suit. I cant wear a matching jacket with pants without going pleated

  • @roger767 Not true at all, there are plenty of flat front pants, even at Ross and Marshall's. I got some Perry Ellis for $24.99. Also, Burlington has the suit separates, with these, you don't have to buy the whole suit, then again, the whole suit only comes up to about $160.00, name brand!!! greetings!!!

  • I agree with you. Pleated pants make me look short and fat. I don't know why they make and sell them. Straight leg pants make me look slim and tall.

  • Aaron, so far I like your videos, but I have to disagree with you on the pleated pants. I feel like it depends on the guy, just like the matter of color[s]. My husband wears pleated pants most of the time,[from Lands End] and continually gets compliments.

My father on the other hand, never wears them; they just don't do anything for him. Pleats are not like bell bottoms, they're a classic style..........

  • how would you define "short"? you describe yourself as short, I'm just curious as to how tall you actually are, I would be considered "fairly short" in the country I live in, I am about 4 inches shorter than national average for men. I have seen quite a few of your videos, and really enjoy the advice you give.

  • maybe a language but, aren't the pants on a suite also what you are referring to as "pleated" ?

  • pleated pants are for old farts

  • Lol.. still watching you videos. I have discovered that I actually already do most of the advice you give. Being a perfectionist and all.

Now I am a bit confused. When you say pleats do you mean those ugly folds flanking the crotch or the creases running down the front of the pant legs typically seen on suit pants? Cause if you meant the prior then you are 100% right. If the latter than hmm. I tend to wear them only with super dressy suit pants. It tends to separate a dress pant from a casual1

  • What do you do with a cell phone and wallet when wearing flat front pants or medium to long rise jeans, thank you

  • @thecj29 put them in your blazer's pockets, dummy

  • Anybody can be fashionable but not everyone can be stylish! I have a pair of cream Canali wide leged pants with cuffs as well as pleats and man are they cool (I mean they feel cool) and comfortable. They also look so good with a blazer.

  • Fashion downward sooner stupid!

  • im 15 can u make a video on teen fashion and the dos and donts on it.

  • My problem is finding non-pleated pants that fit me. I have muscular thighs and flat front pants don't have as much room in the thighs and I'm inching my pants down all day.

  • I've never worn pleated pants even when they were "in". I

  • Wooooh Duuuuude! You're so fashion forward! Let me guess... Edward Green vs. Ferragamo? You're going with Ferragamo! Turnbull & Asser vs. Prada? You're all about Prada! Truefitt & Hill vs. Calvin Klein? You're a CK guy! The fashion forward bumpkin! Soooo cool.

  • @pettiweight I'm more of a Stacy Adams kinda guy

  • And what will you (Aaron) say when pleated pants come back into style? Or let me ask you this: when pleated pants were 'in', did you wear them?

  • I agree that pleats never look good - they always give you a "pouch" around the groin area that is really unflattering. Flat front pants just look better and make the package look better.

  • I disagree and wonder if you've ever worn true pleats (no, I'm not talking about those gathers on your "pleated" dockers - those aren't pleats). True pleats (which are most definitely IN fashion) cost money and need a tailor's hand. Done right, they'll actually make you look thinner.

  • Bernard, are you going to comment on all of my videos and tell the world how wrong I am about everything??? I have a more productive use of your time, make your own videos.

  • @BernardProfitendieu

    Owned....I like flats

  • With regards to pleats, trousers really only should one each side and turned inward rather than outward - it really depends on the cut of the trousers (if bespoke) but "off the peg" never really quite right. I wear flat front preferably with diagonal or "square" pockets as opposed to slanted.

  • I gave up pleats a few years ago and never turned back. However, the stores are still packed with racks and racks of pleated and cuffed dress pants. I dislke the cuffs, too. Why do the stores still carry pleated dress pants in large quantity if they're out?

  • You are correct! The stores still sell a large selection of pleats and cuffs. Why you ask....because people still buy them like crazy. But you will also see a trend that most designers are now making non pleated versions of the same pants. They are slow but they catch on eventually.

  • I've typically always worn pleated pants but now I'm starting to like the flat front because I am thin, about 175 5'11 and they seem to accent my body better. If I am wearing any type of pant weather it be flat or pleated at the office I like to wear pants with cuffs. I think it looks more professional? But Im also not that tall so I dont know if is should be wearing them hemmed to make me look taller? What is a general rule about hemmed vs cuffed in business surroundings and in casual?

  • What is the deal with pleated pants. Pleats are not out. I can't tell you that I have ever seen them recently. I do not look fat or over weight in mine nor has any other man i've seen other than the ones that actually are. flat front pants are casual and not appropriate for a suit, a suit is a dressy thing and flat fronts are not. I haev recieved many complements on my suits which have pleated pants. You do have great advice in your other videos but on this I think you've got it wrong.

  • i like your hairstyle.what is it called so i can get a cut like that?

  • I don't know that it has a name. If you ever come to Atlanta, I will set you up with my stylist and he can show you what to do. I call it messy spiky. I use American Crew Fiber for the hold.

  • thanks..ill just go to a barber and tell them that

  • Love the vids Aaron. One question: Whats that at 1:34 on the back of your head? I hope its not... a mullet.

  • Faketan,

I don't have a mullet, however I do see what you are saying....must have been a humid day. I just made an appointment to get my haircut!!!

  • This was another great clip. Thank you for the insight.

  • Thank you for answering my question. You answered it perfectly. I appreciate your time and effort with this video :)

  • I agree with Pink-- both about Aaron's look AND the topic he covered today.

  • 1492man, I think your comment is completely wrong. I think Aaron's hair (both head and face) look dapper and handsome. Your opinion is just that-- YOUR opinion.

Keep up the good work Aaron! I like the topic and how you addressed it.

  • Common sence;

A-If you are going to address the public,at least get a shave and comb your hair !!

THE BUM LOOK IS SO DEGRADING!

  • 1492man,

I appreciate your comment and opinion. As for degrading, I'm not sure you are using the proper word. Maybe you were meaning to say sloppy. I assure you that my beard is neatly groomed and my hair styled to my liking. Thanks for watching!

  • Talking about common "sence"- you can't even spell. If you're going to post a comment, at least spell words correctly.
