Thanx for posting this. Despite the fact that there are only 2 albums, 2 bonus songs, 1 live song and about 6 youtube videos, I think I listen to this band more than any other. Mimi Goese's voice will always thrill, excite, melt and terrify me at the same time. Her work with Moby (at least 2 videos plus a live performance) and some other stuff she's working on (also available on youtube) ABSOLUTELY MUST be heard ! Look for some on my channel. I'll try to post links later. Again, thanx much.
No, Bjork is from the Sugar Cubes. They are great too! Check out Birthday, a song that made them famous in the US...I saw Mimi in NYC doing her performance art. It was in 1993. Wish I could have seen Hugo Largo at the Einstein a-go-go in Jacksonville back in the 80's. College radio played their Eskimo Song.
Oh! Thank you for posting this, I have never seen them perform before - never even knew what they looked like. What a treat after all these years! [btw, I decided to search YouTube today because one of their lyrics was stuck in my head: color landscapes echoing vivid blues and brilliant reds.] What a great underrated band. Thanks again.
Does anybody here know where I can get their version "Gloria In Excelsius"? They did it for a Warner Bros. Christmas album in '88. This is beautiful, BTW.
And I thought that I was the only one that absolutely adored this band. Check them out on MySpace. There's a song called "Unclear" that's not on any of their albums and I believe was taken live from the concert that "Scream Tall" above was taken from. It is incredibly beautiful, like pretty much all their material. What a magical band they were. I have an promo LP where Brian Eno introduces the band and speaks about them for about 30 minutes while snippets of their music plays in the back.

It's neither Björk nor Magga, but Mimi, who was never in Sugarcubes.

I love this band's music more than life itself, but Mimi's shtick has always made me want to pull my eyes out of their sockets.
