i play in a pool in winston salem on the wall there is a blown up print of the cover of the detroit times . the cover has a guy by the name of Taxi Danny playing pool, the caption says, "the states of grace of pool, Taxi Danny, Cornbread Red and others." Taxi danny now lives in winston salem and plays pool where I do. He is in his 90's has had a stroke and had to switch to playing pool left handed, he still plays well. to be able to just sit and listen to his stories is a great blessing.
wow great video ..My dad has told me great stories of him playing pool with Cornbread Red back in the day....He always say he was the best pool player he has ever known and just a great man in general!!!
What a classic and a rare gem. These two American legendary players, Corenbread and Strawberry, make up the very fabric of the history of pool. They were never afraid to step up to the plate and play anybody, as they had no fear. God bless them both, and may they rest in peace!
Wow. RIP to your dad. I've met him a comuple times at the Glass City Open in Toledo. Class act and he put on a banking exposition like I've never seen in my life. Of of the sharpest eyes in biliards history.
if pool fans get a chance, buy a copy of Cornbread's book. it's a good read! i havn't read it for about 10 years, but plan on reading it again soon. filled with nice stories.
@WhiteOrchard13 i know you posted this comment 4 years ago but i have to say how sorry i am for your loss. he was a brilliant player and although i never knew him, im pretty sur he was a great father too. will
