@Winters11 totally agree with you... can be the person or a program that have some bugs (mac OS or any 3rd party program) the true is that you never know when or with what program its going to happen!!!
While it's certainly a lovely system, spending $900 on a PPC card required for the new OS seems quite ... pointless. Especially considering linux has moved past AmigaOS already 10 years back. People should start using computers, rather than status-symbols again.
@dracothedraconian That must have been some serious user error there buddy. Use linux next time. It's just as good, if not better than mac, and you don't have to shell out $1200+ dollars.
Amiga needs to pull a MorphOS and get this OS on Mac PPC equipment.
The last blurb I've seen ended in:
'AmigaMac has been banned and I've closed this thread. It's a hoax and if I'm wrong then there will be details on another forum or an official website.'
How can it be considered expensive when I just finished seeing a "VIDEO CARD" for $380!!
By the time you get a matching $200 MB/$250 sound card/harddrives/case/power supply ($170)that will be well over $1000 oh and dont forget the crappy $250-$300 OS(Winblows)...Lets not start talking about Macs &Cost!!!
I'm so tired of hearing how "expensive" Amigas are..I bought mine in 1990($1200)&STILL HAVE IT WORKING!U PC/Mac People have gone thru 10 machines/OS/HW/SW upgrades w/little to show(cont'd)
In terms of the money to Gain ratio. My 2GHz 1GBram machine is slow when Hard disk is accessed or internet is loading in data EVEN though it says it is ONLY using %10-30% CPU it might as well be using ALL of it. How much power does it take to move the mouse pointer, flip a window, & do something simple like text or disk access??Long ass startup, stupid shut down sequence....Locking up(window not responding). buying the most expensive upgrade(s) for my Amiga=$2000(CPU/MEM/Vid/RAM/Audio)
One Mac cost that much when first on shelves & the same for high end PC's(they must be High-End to even try to keep up w/Amiga's smooth handling, Plus Amiga was no generic crap machine it was custom built...Mac is closer in this respect.) just being modest, upgrading every 2 years, multiply 8 x $1000=$8,000 NOT including Software that is NOW incompatible w/hardware and vice-versa so Add $800Windows, $1000 others=$9,800
Probably double that figure, for any hardcore people, Professional Production people(They blow 5-6 figures at startup anyway so We'll leave them out)What about the cost of Labor to "Fix"all the problems w/viruses,driver issues, upgrading, etc...
Most of my software for my OS 1.3 works on OS 3.9 &I can multi-boot into older Os'es if need be.The long term cost of ownership(even the short term)is much worst on the PC,MAC platforms because they"obsolescence"on purpose for $ $ $.
And if you write down a whole Book here in the YouTube comments, mate: They are expensive ;) We all know - there`s no sense in denying it. You`re talking about to invest in a HighEnd-PC to came up with the Amiga - but it`s the total opposite of it: Try to get an Amiga that could match a LowEnd PC like mine (Dualcore 2*2ghz, Geforce 7) - for just 400 Euro.
I would get a nice equipped A1200 HD for that Money - If I`m lucky enough maybe a CD32 with a SX-Pro Module
@DoxiMoxi No kidding... In the day I would drool over all the Amiga toys a friend of mine had collected.. Audio Cards, Amiga 3000, Amiga 1200, Video Digitizers, and tons and tons of Hard drives filled with all kinds of software.. Last that I heard about him was another Amiga friend of his died and soon as he got the chance he cleaned out his house All of his Amiga collection.. This is a guy you don't want to know..

@koller16 Well, I know it will not happen so often like in Windows. In reality, and a personal belief, I think that, in MY mac, it will never happen.
3 years been very happy with it!

Part 3 of my rant;
So over 19 years I've spent $3,200...
