he is a genius, they have it figured out, AFI does. When I watched the movie, before i knew it was a mystery, it made sense. It fits together so gracefully. It is an honor to live in the same era as this legend.
I went to all of this just to find out that the mystery was already solved in '06. The lucky few who solved it got these special passes for a concert or something.

So it's safe to say it won't happen in our lifetime or our great grandchildren's. But I guess the only real way to be sure is to wait it out. Ok I have been reading a lot on the whole end of the world theory with 2012. Ok here's the thing A friend of mine was big into this theory and mayan history. The calendar is wrong. They didn't account for the number zero. The beginning. We did so technically according to their calendar the end of the world happened a hundred years ago. I'm not saying this is the absolute end of the theory, but it does blow some major holes in their time line, no?
1) Metaphysical:Spiritual death paralleled with the final-reincarnation theory. Miseria = one everything = misery (depression)
2) Dantean: Inferno + StS share structure and motifs.
3) Ultimately: About depression. The character's misery goes through very repetitious cycles that end in spiritual death. If you've had depression, you might agree that it seems like the same shit keeps happening over and over again. Spanish in Leaving Song Pt. II.

Wanna know the most logical reason behind why the "Leaving Songs" are out of order? Because that is the way that the record label & producer felt the album flowed best, musically. Look as far into it as you want, but the fact of the matter is, it was AFI's first major label release, which means they probably had very little control over matters such as that.
on the sts song booklet, at the end, there's a small drawing and next to it are the words "rabbits are roadkill" so i'd have to say that du and sts were planned release dates.
notice on how the STS album the leaving song pt 2 comes 1st in the order of how the album puts it and the very last song at the very end has the same beat as the 1st song in the cd the. its a complete circle

I think you're reading a little too deep into things. The order of the Leaving Songs really could have nothing to do with anything. For example, Black Flag's album, Damaged, features the song "Damaged II" before "Damaged I".

I've heard a theory that Sing the Sorrow is a concept album of the death of a man. Makes senses now after watching this video. Some say Decemberunderground is also a concept album about the love life of a man. The same character referred to in Sing the Sorrow.

I spent a whole night with a friend trying to solve this and we came up with a pretty neat conclusion IMO.
But I still think there's something really big behind clandestine, something that none of us has ever thought about...

before i even watch this, id like to say that was the stupidest short film ever, made more ridiculous by the fact that this was made AFTER the sing the sorrow album, like they didnt even make this when they were still in obscurity- which would have given it any artistic merit. this is just crappy short meets jumanji meets the ring meets.. rock n roll high school, and/or coffee and cigarettes

For the tracklisting, I get what your saying, but then why is the whole song title Miseria Cantare (the beginning)? I think it's cool that people care this much about this subject and as he clearly stated on the info this is a theory by afi fans, not just him.

Wanna know the most logical reason behind why the "Leaving Songs" are out of order? Because that is the way that the record label & producer felt the album flowed best, musically. Look as far into it as you want, but the fact of the matter is, it was AFI's first major label release, which means they probably had very little control over matters such as that.

I think you're reading a little too deep into things. The order of the Leaving Songs really could have nothing to do with anything. For example, Black Flag's album, Damaged, features the song "Damaged II" before "Damaged I".

that's interesting, about the albums. I'm not hugely into AFI, so I didn't know anything about that. I was looking at the short film on its own, which is actually fairly strong and highly interpretive piece, even without the references to the albums. It was kind of David Lynch-ish. Anyway, without looking to the albums for background information, I was able to (sort of)come up with my own interpretation. But this interpretation is cool, too.

I've heard a theory that Sing the Sorrow is a concept album of the death of a man. Makes senses now after watching this video. Some say Decemberunderground is also a concept album about the love life of a man. The same character referred to in Sing the Sorrow.

thats the point. they CANT reincarnate. rabbits are on their last life on this earth. the black rabbit symbolizes death and the circle symbolizes the reincarnation cycle. once born in the year of the rabbit your cycle is broken. once you die your dead forever.

Because I think all the hours of thinking(ours and the fans)must lead to something TANGIBLE not just a bunch of numerology and metaphore theories. Something like a secret or things afi can't say out loud in the public spot and that they wanted their fans to know dont u think?

Davey is asking if you believe in god because (I know this may sound odd) this whole thing is a questioning of your beliefs. WE (friend and I) spent a whole night researching and REALLY thinking... and I THINK we got it. What Davey is trying to tell us has changed my whole perception on LIFE.
