Ancient egyptians were black african people that migrated out of what we call modern day kenya/uganda/ethiopia-somalia. Modern day egyptians are mixture of different group of people. Some of them do have dna that goes back to ancient time, but they don't look like ancient egyptians. The guy in the video can clearly see his african feature, but he is mixed like most modern day egyptians. They are also egyptians that had no so whatever connection with ancient egyptians.

Most (credible) anthropologists don't subscribe to a concept of race (like a 'pure negro'). Black/White is just a stratification system INVENTED in the 1700s to justify the Atlantic slave trade. I've clearly stated, SEVERAL times, that I'm not Egyptian nor do I claim any heritage- only that they're ALSO AFRICANS. I like history & culture so I majored in archeology and anthro in college. I like (modern) Egyptians because they are a nice, warm, and welcoming group of people. How does liking something equate to claiming heritage?

You keep throwing around the antiquated concept of a "negro" but mainstream academia does not subscribe to these archaic concepts. Do you know what a West African Fulani looks like? What about a Tuareg? Lines are more logically drawn along ethnicity, which is why you can group the lightest to the darkest Egyptian as Egyptian....

@snowmchristv …Who cares if SOME (to say many is a gross generalization) black Americans want to associate with AEgypt? It's African. The fabric of the universe isn't going to unwind b/c of this... Also, Native Americans can have pride in overall Native American culture regardless of tribal/ethnic affiliation, yet a double standard gets applied for AAs and other Africans. Europeans can be proud of the diverse cultural heritages of Europe but AAs are only allowed to focus on one area of Africa?

@snowmchristv There are several mil AAs in the US. The "so many" you perceive equates to a minor fraction of a small percent that hold any interest in Egypt at all. Ancient history isn't a hot topic on every AA's interest list (for example, there weren't many AAs at the NYC King Tut exhibit). Also, AEgypt is African, not Asian, in it's fundamental structure & nature but I really don't care what you want to take pride in, it has no impact on my livelihood whatsoever.

@snowmchristv When I got off the tour bus my 2nd day in Egypt, an old man came up to me (I was the only "black" person in the group) & he gestured (b/c he couldn't speak English) that we were both blessed by the sun to have brown skin. He touched my skin, touched his skin, looked up at the sun and made a gesture for "wonderful." So yeah, that's the black/brown/red AFRICAN connection I'm talking about. He didn't do that to any of the whites, and there was even a Lebanese woman in our group.

However, today, sematic population is 30% of total population of egypt, this is not due to invasions, it is since the ancient times. 45% are north african. Egypt cannot be black in skin,because, thank god, we are relatively positioned in high altitudes, like our arab brothers, and other middle eastern and north african brothers, wh we all have medium skin tones, and caucasian features which is middle eastern in orgine. We live in the sahara, look out it in the map. deserts gets cold at night, producing a light skin colour. Thank God
