  • I have one question.

I am a complete noob when it comes to Didjeridoos and I just received my first one in the mail today.

One end is much more open than the other end.

Which end do I apply the beeswax to?

  • @righteous0warrior the smaller end the larger end is the bell

  • very cool, thanks for sharing! peace

  • does a beeswax mouthpiece become sticky ? my didj came with some wax on it, and its super sticky after playing a while, hurts a bit :S

  • I put in the microwave until soft enough to mold :)

  • od they have to have a bees wax mouth piece

  • do they have to be beeswax

  • hi i live in brisbane but i dont know were to get beeswax.

    can some1 help me?

  • just go into a speciality health store or candle store : you can usually get a big block for $3 from a health store or a decent sized beewax candle for $10

  • ebay

  • @jacksoncalvert

any hardware store should have it.

i got mine from bunnings hardware for about 7 bux

  • I don't know where you live, but I got beeswax from a store called Greenearth. They sell candles, arts, crafts, etc. But any store that sells beeswax candles should be fine. Make sure it is 100% beeswax and not a composite beeswax or a processed one. I bought 6 packs and just took the wick out when the wax melted.

It works great! let me know how it goes

  • Thanks for the tip!but where can i get beeswax?

  • Thanks, just what I needed. Nice demo and list on closing credits.

  • Hi,

Thank you for your videos they are apprecited and helpful.

Hope this is not a silly question! Is it ok to play a didgeridoo without a wax mouthpiece? I have played mine for a year without one (it's my first didgeridoo)and it seems fine to play but I am concerned about if that harm the didgeridoo at all (like cause cracks in the wood etc)? Thank you if you can offer any opinion.

    best wishes,

    Tfish

  • its not needed... its more for comfort if you play for long periods of time

  • Beeswax can't crack your didge, it preserves it. As allareone421, playing long times can hurt your lips :)

  • I bought a didgeridoo from ebay a few weeks back. It doesn't apepar to have any mouthpiece at all, just wood. The bit that you breathe in too looks like a hollowed out basin of wood and i have not seen anyone else with a didgeridoo like it. Shall i buy some wax and have a go at crafting a mouthpiece? It seems like the hole is too big at the moment to circular breathe with.

  • A 30g bar on average is good for about three mouthpieces.
