  • sad

  • They have the largest canines in relation to their skull size of any other carnivore on earth.........I'm told!!!!

  • He wants O-U-T.

  • Clouded Leopards can only meow. I want one so bad they are gorgeous & my favorite type of animal! Especially Bornean Clouded Leopards!♥

  • Look at that coat. wow seriously... what a beautiful creature.

  • its head as if a big cat...

  • i'm so jealous it's unbelievable!

what does their fur feel like? I bet I could bet them all day like this one wants in the video

  • I can go there cuz i live in thailand XD

  • Ohhh how cute... what a great waste of money :)

  • OMG! I want a clouded leopard as a pet! I wonder if they'll allow you to keep one?

  • it is soooooooooooo cute!!!!

  • poor thing looks bored, wants to get out and be free!

  • Awww it meows just like a cat, and it has a long tail.

  • Not a good OPEN zoo.

  • lol at first i thought that it was a snake

  • Yes, they do make little meows, but also make a very deep, loud and scaey "MAAOOW!" They cannot roar like lions and tigers. They can purr like cheetahs and pumas, who cannot roar (cheetahs and pumas also have a meow-voice). They lack the hyoid bone in their throats, which would enable them to roar. Sound cute, but can be aggressive, and definitely NOT good as a pet!!! Clouded Leopards ARE, though, the MOST BEAUTIFUL CATS IN THE WORLD............if not the most beautiful animal!!

  • Hur kitty kitty kitty!!!

  • Magnificent animal. It is upsetting to see it caged. That should be roaming forests or whatever they do.

  • a !!! i love it!!!

  • I dunno about a cat the size of a dog, with the strength to kill you while playing.

  • their toung is like sandpaper lolz

  • im buyin one as soon as i move out!

  • Such a unique cat from its face to its pattern

  • Did a leopard have sex with a python? I mean, look at its spots

  • Just beautiful!

  • awwwwww it's sooo cute :3

  • KITTY!

  • wow, i would love to be in the presence of such an animal, i hope one day i get to be

  • It's so nice and cute.It even sounds like a house cat.But god only knows what those claws would do to the furniture

  • i feel so angry when i think of their habitat being destroyed... i mean i wish people could think about the clouded leopard just a little bit more than a new shopping center :(

  • you know this animal could be trying to kill me,id let it cause i there so beautiful!

  • Absolutely beautiful! I love big cats. I really hope these fellas don't go extinct, such amazing creatures~ <3

  • You booped its nose :-)

  • Comment removed

  • Thailand ? So this poor little thing will certainly end up on a plate, covered with peanut sauce, huh?

  • OH MY GOD that is a beautiful coat! love the markings. would love to take it home if i knew i couldnt die trying pet it

  • looks like a snake!

  • Dude! I want this!

  • where were you able to do this?

  • yeah. they're soo sweet! I'm in love with this cats!!! please save the clouded leopards!! they're wonderful animals!! ♥

  • what a beautiful little fellow. i'm in love with that leopard. look at those paws, big and fluffy. if i were there, i would have smuggled him at home to myself.. and if the police found him, i would just say it my kittycat, who have been on a speciel diet. XD

  • are their tongues rough like a domestic cat's would be?

  • leave it up to you geeks to hunt it for the fur or insides.

    indeed

  • kitty kitty!

  • i think that is the most beautful creature i have ever seen

  • that isnt the cage he lives in? thats rly tiny!

  • The most beautifull cat species ever.Second is the ocelot.

  • @Ult1mateUltron YES! i so agree. Ocelot ! they are also very very beautiful.

Cats are so so facinating ^__^

  • They do also purr!................not your little house-kitty, though! A wild NML, and to be respected as such!

  • Dragonongkh@ do you know how cruel that would be

  • Very stupid thing to do by trying to pet her/him(even thought I would want to) but I absoulutley love the cloudeds! :)

  • absolutely GORGEOUS cat. my favorite. =)

  • I heard snow leopards don't roar, only meow and pur. Isn't that what divides big cats from other cats? I just always thought snow leopards and clouded leopards were categorized as big cats

  • I was surprised to hear this animal meowing and squeaking. I'd always assumed that leopards roared. Are they able to purr as well?

  • This isn't a leopard, it's a clouded leopard. This is an adult. They only get to be 30-60 pounds. They can purr, but they don't roar.

  • Really? Then it is the only pantherine (big cat) that can purr. I'm not sure if it is really so, I think they make soft roaring sounds with higher fequency more similar to purring, when they feel confortably. It's the same case like snow leopards.. Their full sound is meowing, but when they are f. e. fighting they growl almost like other big cats. But it would be very interesting to see if they can or can't purr, after seeing this I can believe that they really can purr

  • @K8S450DR

Just from a quick check on Wikipedia:

"Like other big cats, they do not appear able to purr, but they otherwise have a wide range of vocalisations, including mewing, hissing, growling, moaning, and snorting"

This one was a smaller Clouded Leopard, the bigger males did indeed sound like any other large cat especially if they were aggravated, often around feeding time.

  • @Soervin Yes I think so. Also the meowing sounds not exactly equally to feline cats. In each case, gorgeous creature

  • @purrscooter This is a Clouded Leopard, not an African leopard

  • I would think it would be ok being that close to a leopard in its youth, but animals still have their natural instincts, it's still possible to go CRAZY on your ass when its order....still its a cute leopard

  • @LovelyxMoments This is not a baby leopard, this is an adult of a species of wildcat known as the "clouded leopard"

Regardless of age or species, having this kind of interaction between humans and animals is not a great idea.

  • wow i didn't know it was a adult, but I wasn't giving my support for opening a "petting zoo" with these animals, i was only saying that animals who are born to be hunters in the wild can still have some of those instincts in a cage. There's still a danger there and i agree with you that this kind of interaction isn't a great idea. But will you please read my comments a little more carefully because you obviously didn't :-)

  • @LovelyxMoments Sorry if that sounded a little stand-offish. I replied to your specifically to let you know that it was an adult, the second half of it wasn't directed at you but if you notice there are plenty of comments below yours that do express a desire to "pet" and play with the animals. There are a lot of people who don't realize how dangerous it is.

  • I'm sorry if I sounded mean towards you too, but yea it also kinda disturbs me that so many people commenting are talking about these animals like they're pets. I was only trying to educate them with my comment and I see that you were too.....But why did you gives me a thumbs down?! BTW I was the one who gave u a thumbs up to let u know i meant it when i agreed with you.

  • @LovelyxMoments I didnt give you a thumbs down - at least I didnt intend to! o.O

Thanks for the thumbs up though!

  • Oh, then if it wasn't you, then my bad

But whoever it was can SUCK IT and go get mauled by a clouded leopard because they thought it was "cool" to pet these animals and treat them like house cats :P

  • This isn't a baby. Clouded leopards are small animals. Full grown leopards can be 150-200 lbs. Clouded leopards top out at around 60 lbs.

  • I love clouded leopards :) please tell me is it possible, can everyone get in the cage and pet the clouded leopard? is it allowed or did you pay for it ?

  • thats badass

  • Wait wait wait.. did that gigantic kitty just make that cute little meow?!?! Now I really want one :)

  • so cute!!!!

  • Wow if we can have this as a pet and raise it to be as friendly and big in size and wow everybody can ride on tigers instead of cars

  • You can't really since they are extremely unpredictable and could turn their backs on you any time.

Plus they are big in a house and hard to look after.

  • @dragonongkh I wouldn't recommend it - you'd have to be REALLY committed to having one as a pet, which means spending as much time as possible socializing with the cat and training them. It also takes a good cat too - Cats have their own personalities too, this kitty may have been used to the attention.

Also, I bet it'd REALLY hurt if they bit you - Their teeth are the size of a tiger's!

  • im joking dude before i knew it i am eaten up by one of em

  • She was quite calm for the most part.

Was fun throwing a stick and she would run and get it kinda like a dog...

Only had one time where I was afraid of her and that was when I had given her lunch and was standing behind her... made a baaaaad noise that really got me worried :p

15 after lunch... all fun and games again... the rest of the clouded leopards there though I would definately NOT want to be in a cage with, they'd rip me to shreds! :D

  • @Soervin the should have bitch

  • naaaaaaw its adorable!

  • woah, you are so lucky, having an encounter with such a beautiful critter, and its TAME :D I'm jealous! DX

  • They are just big wild cats. In most places they are extinct- you just find a few if lucky in captive. I have always been fascinated by them since I was a kid growing up in England, my one dream was to see a Formosan clouded leopard in Taiwan the jade Mountains but sadly they are all believed to be gone

  • Poor sweet kitty of the jungle.

  • Holy crap! That is ONE tame feline!!! s/he's rubbing on the filmer's legs, meowing for attention and accepting it! S/he really should have some stuff to play with in their enclosure unless that's a "Petting area" where s/he can interact with visitors.

  • Do these kinds of cats grow as big as the one in this video? I always thought that wildcats can grow up to be big as lions, or rarely tigers, nut this one is quite as big as a house dog, and it's just as friendly as a house cat.

  • Beautiful fur!

  • After it died naturally???

  • wow jeremys. what a dickhead

  • Thats one cat i would love to have lol

  • cute!

  • Nice peacekeeping essays people

  • What a wonderfull kitty... I would like to see it someday. It must be great to be an animal keeper - it is my dream job.

  • Very pretty animals. We need to do all we can to make sure we don't lose animals like this. People threaten their lives so much, it's horrible to think of losing these amazing creatures. It's wonderful and beautiful from a distance, it should never be worn for fur. We are going to lose amazing creatures like this because people are such selfish aholes...

  • Agreed!

  • I love Jo Gayle, she's such a petite little girl! I live with her right now on the Smithsonian CRC. I would give almost anything to do what you are doing there.

  • I didn't know that Clouded Leopards meow. That's adorable! Aren't they supposedly the only cat alive today who is the most closely related to Smiledon?

  • wow what a boring pen.. give it some plants or something or rocks to climb..

  • Words cannot describe how absolutely beautiful and perfect these cats are.

  • Well, first of all, I wouldn't listen to someone with that kind of username... especially on the subject of zoos. xD

  • Such a preciouse looking creature. Made my day.

  • Oh, my goodness, they not only have beautiful markings, they have the cutest meows! I wish them good luck in repopulating clouded leopards...

  • Beautiful Cat. I just went to the San Diego Zoo this weekend and saw two of them I'm sad that they are on the endangered list.

  • San Diego Zoo's damned expensive, though... I caught a glimpse of one of the clouded leopards, but [s]he was hiding up on the rocks in the back for most of the time. There was another, but it was in a cage back behind the front enclosure so I didn't get to see it much. It was pacing around and making quite a racket, though... was there for a few hours, at least. Did get to feed a treat to the snow leopards, though, which was... mindblowing.

  • So sad that such a beautiful creature is endangered. The bad thing is, their beauty is also the reason why there's so few of them. I'm guessing the were hunted especially for their fur.

  • i live in san francisco, and you can go to chinatown and buy a leopard for pet.....or lunch.

  • I love Clouded Leopards. They are just so gorgeousl

  • Clouded leopards are such beautiful cats.

  • I'd go all the way to Thailand to play with him... so awesome.

  • I'm gonna adopt one one on WWF

  • That's a bad ass leopard. You should let him free though. Haha.

  • they are prolly repopulating first. the clouded leopard is very very rare.

  • they make such a cute sound!

  • cute! hehe

  • How sweeeeeet! The cat is adorable.

  • Wow. just.. wow.

  • do they make good pets

  • In theory maybe, but they're so critically endangered it would be pretty selfish to keep them as such. Being bigger and stronger than a housecat the mischief they cause would be much larger as well. In "growing up clouded leopard" the lady who raised them had all her breakable items glued down - and that was when they were kittens. Also the domestic cat is FAR tougher against diseases than big cats.

Might have been easier if she had someone else hold the camera, with only one hand free...

  • OMG!!!!!!! SO CeeeeUUUUUUUUUUUTE!

  • One of the most beautiful creatures on earth! I'd love to work in a zoo where I could see these magnificent cats every day!

  • almost all gone like the Tiger...

  • No you can not own a Clouded Leopard they are Highly endangered !! Which is such a pity because these animals are so amazing ... But yea the cat you probably saw was a Hybrid cat The Bengal Cat or Savannah Cat . There look alot like clouded leopards at a distance ..

  • can u own one of thouse, im sure ive seen one in a garden in my neighbourhoood it was attached to a chain, i thought it was a big cat

  • he's beautiful!

  • Aww seems friendly ^_^

What a beautiful beautiful creature. Just look at those colors and markings. Gorgeous!

I truly hope they never go extinct. quit the damn development of their land already!

  • these animals are beautiful. it would be terrible if they extinct

  • It is very pretty and looks very well looked after.

    How did you get it?

  • wow, so provocative, why??,

  • aww...so cute ^_^....she kinda miaws like a cat too o.O

  • yeah...clouded leopard, as snow leopard, is a strange cat that remembers somehow both big and small cats...they are fantastic! God bless cats!

  • This is my 2nd favorite cat, after the Caracal. I like them because they are small but yet have big cat physiology .. plus the coat, their agility in trees, and long teeth

  • My favorite animal in the world! I want one!! Seeing that they're so gentle makes me want one even more!!!!!!!!

  • they don't roar as yes they are part of the big cat family that don't, and your wrong about the adults they are gental as well, just not during mating and eating.

  • i remember reading that some big cats couldnt roar, and i was wondering if the clouded leopard was one of them (from its wierd meows)

i used to know this stuff! arg!

  • Only the Panthera races roar, Panthera tigris(tiger), Panthera leo(lion), panthera onca(jaguar) and Panthera pardus(leopard).

  • Gorgeous animal. This has got to be the most beautiful of all cats.

  • sad, it looks afraid. c'mon it would kill you by now.

  • how did u interact with that animal

  • Very well... except when she was eating... like all big cats she would get angry even if you would just only approach her while she was eating. But other than that she was very easy going... pretty much like a huge kitten in some ways... playful and jumped around on trees in the small jungle inside the cage. The bigger and adult Clouded Leopards I couldn't approach in this way at all... if I would just get close to their cage they would growl at me.

  • @WildTiger6 so, who's cat you had for lunch?

    indeed

  • I dodn't know - I've only heard one make a growling sound. Pretty cat.

  • Unexpected voice it has - it sounds like a little kitten?

  • It wasn't fully grown at the time I recorded it... but the adults sound similar... So I just think that's how they sound.

  • aww.. thats so cute!!!

  • wow, what a beautiful animal Sorvin :) was that really you with the leopard, if so, really cool... GreetZ Ren

  • Hey sorvin, very nice and cute :D
