satch is actually better than even his fans realize. he holds the guitar correctly, can sight read music, understands musical theory, can play quickly, is willing to experiment, has a unique tone, is technically proficient, and is miles ahead of everybody except steve vai (even though i hate vai, such a wanker) and jeff beck when it comes to whammy skills. and hes a wonderful songwriter who puts emotions through his playing. he is a god

Yup, good eye. Satch uses Floyd Rose on all his guitars. Just his preference. I passed on buying the JS 1200 for just that reason.

It does seem a bit strange though that all the guitars he uses have Floyd Rose when the JS series use Edge. You would think they would have Floyd Rose on them, but then again, Ibanez WOULD want to flaunt their hardware.

Well, as it ended up, I did buy the JS1200. It is a Floyd Licensed Tremolo, and quite good. I saw a recent interview where he said the Original Floyds stay in tune better, and pull up to a higher pitch.

Outside of some very minor turns on the fine adjusters once and a while, the Edge Pro is impressive so far as staying in tune

actually, its just opinion. some think edge is better, others think ofr is better. but both are equally nice. :D

Joe uses the original Edge not the Edge Pro. If you buy his guitar at any store it WILL have an Edge Pro on it. This is because Ibanez does not put the Original Edge or even the Lo Pro Edge on guitars anymore. Though they do still manufacture them. Joe does not use the Edge Pro. I have seen his guitars up close and in person. Without a doubt they are the Original Ibanez Edge trems. Which is basically a cooler modern version of the Original Floyd Rose.
