Which robbed her of control, which is a very scary feeling. All the more scary and hurtful coming from someone she loves.

I've read up on the subject. :\ It's scary especially because it's so subtle and true to life; rape can come from moments like this, where it starts off friendly, then crosses a line. And it's frustrating that some take the attitude "that's not so bad", because it teaches the women who experience that frightening loss of control regarding their own body that it's 'not that bad". They internalize that fear and shame. v.v

@magicklorelai Yeah - and what adds to it is that a lot of women really don't need any encouragement to think like that - despite everything feminists (good and bad) have tried to do, a lot of women have such low self esteem by default that they convince themselves they deserve it. So a lot of these cases go on unchecked for many years - it's a miserable existence.
