The written, inerrant word of God alone is the only source of all doctrine. I am NOT a church hopper, having changed churches 5x in nearly 50 yrs, sometimes due to relocations.
I attend a LCMS called Grace in TN. I'm about to be confirmed after a lifetime in Pentecostal, Holiness, Charismatic and Emergent congregations respectively. But I'm finally at home in the Lutheran Church. I love not being marketed to, too!
@ToastyTownVoice Please do ask them what their understanding is about salvation. Is it by works or by faith? Is it guaranteed or not? Other than this particular doctrinal matter, I agree with you on everything else. I believe you may be a church hopper, but I understand that the lack of stability in the protestant realm combined with constant salesmanship by 'guest preachers' drives you and me beyond madness. The rock concert thing can also get real annoying.
