  • Love you guys !!! john hunter Phillips

  • You guys do a slammin' job covering BB tunes and making sure that they are scored accurately. The sound from the original track of this was castanets. Not a set of spoons... :-/

  • OH MY GOD!!!!!!

  • @stockedandready C'mon dude... the guy doing the falsettos is a bit off on some of the stuff, but come on... the Beach Boys themselves seldom sounded this good live. Then again, they didn't have as many singers on stage at once, but give these guys their due. And if you need any further proof of their excellence, click on their "Heroes & Villains" video. THEN make your judgement. I think you'll see my point.

    Excellent work, Fendertones!

  • Wow Wow Wow Awesome thanks fendertones please do more and new music Videos. !!!

  • One of my favorite Beach Boys songs and you guys do it justice....!!!! 10 Stars....

  • Damn! Like your having time of your lives lol Keeping the music alive! Love it :)

ps wish I was up there with you guys *sigh*

  • How can people be negative, these guys give it their best shot, and all their covers are excellent.

  • @stockedandready sorry can't hear it. you must have Brian ears.

  • @alburtise YOU CAN'T HEAR THAT?!!!!!! omfg it's more than notable, and these guys don't know how to sing brian. Great rendition though, I'd still prefer the BB original

  • @memejawd No criticism intended. We're certainly in agreement that no one sings like Brian!

  • @memejawd While no one could match Brian's vocal range from the early/mid-1960s, you gotta give these kids props. They're good and come pretty darn close to matching those magical Beach Boys' harmonies.

  • This is absolutely amazing! I'm not sure what to say but WOW! These guys really need to take this on as a full time deal. Someone posted earlier that this group gives Brian Wilson's group a run for their money...I AGREE!!!

  • @stockedandready well you need that many guys singing to match the studio techniques.....

  • great job

  • a cool take on a ghreat song hey GOOD JOB

  • YT viewers...you're watching brilliance from 2004......

can we reconvene these 20-25 or so and make the magic again this summer?

    BBoys 50 yr anniversary!!!

if potential 'project' whether live or tv or net is underway...please advise.

I would definitely want to be part of this someway/somehow.....if travel involved let me know...ive got a carload who'd get there!!!!!!! wherever it is..

repping on eastern Canada and the USA......

  • If any of you nay sayers have ever seen a BB concert, you will find that their sound is not where as clean as the recordings. Even when they use 7 singers as they do most of the time. This group is about as good at is gets.

  • To the comment (100 guys on stage) bullshit ye cant count, and somethin else Brian Wilson whilst rehearsing with his new band "Quote" hey you guys are better than the Beach Boys, , well strange as it may seem I think these guys fall into the same catagory, not better but hell mighty close, there isnt another act Worldwide that could replicate the sounds these guys make,Im from Scotland and would love to see these guys tour, a lot of hard work and dedication and all for charity God Bless em all

  • The Mega amounts of talent in all the Fendertones members is mind blowing and even more amazing the way they put it all together.....what a sound.....Wow!!

Lets all get together fellow Youtube fans and do what we must - to become audience members of one of their live performances! But - as Maxwell Smart would say: "I have one question, Chief - How?, When, and Where?"

  • OMG. That was absolutely AMAZING!!! I've never heard the Beach Boys reproduced like that. You really nailed it. Thanks for the listen.

  • Band is right on. Vocals perfect.

  • It proves how great Mike Love was ......he knew what he was doing......peace and LOVE (Mike Love)

  • Mind Blowing.........Wow! Holy Moly!

  • @musicandmovieguy55 2:57 the guitarist switched from a danelectro electric 12 string to a fender jaguar how did he do that?2:01 the guitarist puts down his danelectro electric 12 string 2:09 he plugs in his fender jaguar 2:22 now he is palying his fender jaguar

  • great

    wonderful

    fantastic

when will these guys come to germany?

    I`m a fan of them!

  • There are like 30 people in that concert

  • Phenomenal! REPEAT Phenomenal!

  • These guys rock! The Beach Boys overdubbed everything in the studio and never sounded live like they did recorded. Mike Love overdubbed his own leads on almost every track...for a live interpretation of recorded Beach Boys...these guys got it down.

  • Face it folks - these guys are Dynamite and there are not 100 guys on stage - somebody can't count.....each of the guys sings very nicely especially Edwin, and the musicians are first rate. Yes it would be nice to have a DVD of these guys as we all would like but I'm sure there would be too much cost and hassles with musical rights to the songs performed and production costs, etc.

    Great job guys!!

  • Great performances, does anyone know if these guys put out a cd?

  • @stockedandready That's right. The top falsetto is off but it

s hard to sing those falsetto notes iwth 100 guys on stage. There are too many guys on teh stage, and that's the problem ...it takes away the intimacy of the sound of a real BBs concert. GREAT effort....protools and all I LOVE this band

  • I've been checking out the videos for these guys for the last couple of years. They're awesome. And, while I'm an Aussie, I lived in Utah for 6 months in 2001 and I've only now worked it out....They were performing at Salt Lake City....They all wear the "undergarment" that Mormons wear for warding off evil spirits....They've gone to ground again....It's a bunch of Mormons who, despite that fact, are producing heavenly music!

  • @pooley1968 LOL! Not even close! From previous posts from Edwinherder and others, Pennsylvania is where its at... Philly to be specific.

  • @coachnbluesnc Well, why the devil-destroying undershirts? A relic of Happy Days? Why too did these guys appear and disappear so quickly? I haven't seen a response but since you are clearly the fount of all wisdom.....

  • @gibb253 the audiance went wild

  • @spacepatrolman let a pom pom playgirl run wild [ we didnt call them pom pom play girls just sluts always getting pregnant and becoming drug addicted prostitutes ] .

  • Great voices! Keep singing and come to Belgium! Really well performed.

  • Some critic once described the sound of the BBs as "roller rink in the sky"-and you've got it down- what a lovely airy spacious quality this has!

  • fantastic!

  • If you're not moving and grooving on this song you probably need to be resusitated

  • I'm a huge huge Beach Boys fan. Please come and do a concert in St. Louis, MO. I'd be in the front row. Have seen the BB six times. You guys are really swellisimo!!!

  • just great...fantastic

  • This really shows how amazing the Beach Boys were.

  • Those Danelectro guitars sound really neat....the 12 sounds great and the 6 string sounds like a 12!

  • God bless these guys...true classical musicians in every sense - playing classical music as accurately and reverently as possible.

  • PLEASE make a DVD of yourselves for us fans......!!

  • 何というか・・・

    デニスもいるし、ブライアンもいますね。

    目をつぶったら正直分からん。

  • Edwin - when can fans see you all in person this year?? When and where? Please tell us....

  • cool, now do endless summer!

  • a friend in the know from the area says almost everyone here either went to the college in Bryn Athyn or the high school, over a 28 yr. span.

thats why there's such a synergy in these performances and such high regard for the product,,,

    bottom line:

sounds like summer, and thats always a good thing.

    jctoronto

  • and yes, lead singer using the spoons too.

the boys threw the entire kitchen sink at this one...and how magnifcent it was.

    jctoronto

  • with BBoys 50th anniversary just around corner..

  • Singing real good..the amount of singers the secret!!

    but the BAND IS BEACH-RIFFIC..

know this is '04...but are these guys...all 25 of them still out there???

up in canada, need to know

    jctoronto

  • Talk about capturing the grandeur! That is a fantastic arrangement and a stellar performance.

  • those 12 strings sound so nice....

  • Edwin - you are an amazing singing talent! At what age did you first start singing? At what age did those around you realize you had such talent?

  • How about just a nice DVD for all us fans?

  • For God's Sake Why Don't You Guys Go on Tour!!! You'd be a hit anywhere!!!

Please post your concert schedule if you have one...

  • Have you a manager? There are much talents here!! You make music just for fun?!

  • Now look here - I'm a true, real, authentic Beach Boys fan from whenever way way back , and this is simply magic. Congratulations and please post more songs of you guys. I've been looking at the Fenderbender youtube videos for years now, and they never get old. But we need more ! More ! More!

  • I've always loved that modulation at 1:13

  • Adds tremendous energy to an already energetic song...love it!

  • Do you have a website where one can find out where you'll be performing?

  • YOU GUYS ARE SIMPLY FANTASTIC!! WHEN MIGHT YOU HAVE A DVD AVAILABLE FOR US FANS!! I do realize that is easier said than done....costs money and musical rights are involved. We'll keep hoping anyway....

  • As a Lifetime BB fan, I saw the guys do this song at the Legendary TAMI show, 7/64, & they had the place rockin like no onedid! Classic song, & one they stopped doing too soon. Wolfsky9

  • Wow, I've counted the singers and the

musicians: more than 20 guys needed

to produce the genuine Beach Boys' sound. The Beach Boys (5) were

    incredible!!!!!

  • 'nuf said about the voices...

I'd like to tip my hat to the instrumentalists who did an awful good job here!

  • Great cover, but who are the idiots saying that these guys are better doing BB's than the BBs themselves? if you really think this, then pick 5 people out of about the 20 people on that stage, give them instruments and a mic and lets seem them give a better performance than the Beach Boys did when this song came out. I like the Fendertones but if they were better, wouldnt they be doing their own hits instead of someone elses?

  • BAinc perhaps you need to reread my comment.I didnt criticize the Fendertones, I criticized another poster, you are missing the point, which was why would people say they are better than the Beach Boys themselves.Comparing apples and oranges..studio to live.and I've read plenty about BW's recording technigues and have used them myself..So sit back and read comments carefully and you wont waste time responding to things that I didnt say. I said it was great, the rest was pointed at Marhot's idiocy

  • Warcat, you are right, of course. I'm guilty of reading more into your comment than you intended. Unfortunately, I tend to do that sometimes. I therefore retract my remarks in abject apology. However, I will reserve the right for myself to determine whether my time has been wasted. That's in the eye of the one spending it. Best wishes.

  • its cool.. Love and Mercy!!!!

  • the studio recordings by the BB were usually 5 part harmony and then doubled tracked. That makes 10 voices right there

  • John, thats basically true and I know you like to record as well so lets ask it this way. If you go record a song all by yourself in studio, and then 40 people get on stage and do a great job of copying what you recorded, does that make them better than you? It would be idiotic to say they were better. That was the point. Its apples and oranges. We all enjoy this group for what they do and this is the last I'll say on this thread

  • No problem. It's all good !! lol Good vibrations to you

    John

  • who are these guys? Who said these were better than the BBYS themselves? DOH! There is about 50 guys here singing.. there were 5 BBYS and we are talking 40 + yrs when the BBYS were young chicken themselves and blew everybody away with there vocals. I like these Fendetones..they have taste ;o)

  • @smileysmile1 Check the other postings - the reason there are so many singers is to reproduce the effect of the double- and triple-tracked vocals used on the records.

  • actually I think he says, "Good Dancing" I should know, it was me

  • The BEST BB's tribute

  • Thank you ever so much Edwinherder!

  • Sooooo cool!!! Love your vids. You guys roooock!

    Cheers from France

  • Good thing comes to those who wait ...THIS WAS WORTH WAITING FOR GUYS! Wow! I like the audiences' enthusiasum and dancing right along during the performance. Love & Mercy.

  • lamby. i want you yo dance like that at my wedding. as if the beat is really hot.

  • Brian Wilson and the Beach Boys' music is in good hand for coming generations! Thanks for this faithful cover - When is your next concert?

    {Click BB45s for rare Beach Boys video archive}

  • Worth waiting for - thumbs up. *****

  • Love it... that was fun.

  • This is one of the highest quality videos I've seen on You Tube. Keep up the good work!

  • I love the way the guitarist has the 12 string solo down note for note perfect [ he must be glen cambells cousin ] and the background vocals roll over you like the waves .

  • Bari sax layin down some fat grooves. nice!

  • Quite impressive to find THAT many Beach Boys fanatics in one room. Well done!

  • Part of the soundtrack of our lives! Movin' - groovin' - shakin' and shimmying!

  • This music just makes you feel great! I'd given up hope on seeing any more music from these guys. Perhaps there are even more videos from this concert to be posted in the future? I'm betting that there are a lot of people out there who would love to know more about the group. How did they come to create these great renditions? How long were they together? Have they all gone their own way? THANK YOU edwinherder.

  • Incredibly spot on! More!!
