I love how disrespectful most can get on these comment pages, it makes me laugh, we all have our opinions but "Men lie, women lie, #'s don't" ha!!! Jay was grinding in the streets, do ur history, I'm not dick riding for biggin Ol boy up, it's facts, the Man can rap his ass off, knows the entertainment business, knows how to move in it & continues to have an in pact on it. Any 1 how can speak against those facts with passion on a negative stand point is obviously envious. Don't envy & hate, aspi
The reasonable doubt vs Illmatic argument will go on forever, but the truth of the matter is they are both legendary hip hop albums and which one you like better really comes down to taste more than anything else.
My bad, it don't matter how u feel about Jay-Z when Reasonable Doubt is the subject. A lot of people will tell u its 1 of the greatest hip-hop albums of all time!!!!
Damn !!! Now i know what these peoples in the 90's was doing it was to keep the fake out but this fake got in to bring all the fake and gay's in the game....It's all fucked up now
@WelshDegenerate Nas painted an on the surface picture of the streets, Reasonable Doubt went deeper into the complexities of why the streets are the way they are, Jay really was the first to look at it from that perspective
How was Jay the first one to be honest about the streets? what about 'Illmatic'. How was Nas not honest or how did he not represent that to the fullest.
@TheHipHopArea1 the man made gud out of the jets when u growin up it don't seem bad till everybody round you start dying, so if u have a talent u use it. Most street niggaz push n shove trying to bully they way in, most burn the bridge b4 they can cross it jay hustled then and now, what u do? now tell me i'm riding. mixtape goofy
I'm just now understanding the punchline "my dough flips like tae kwon" tae kwon do, tae kwon dough, nd then the flips they be doing...that's the difference between lines then and now...it's nothing to spit a weezy line where everyone and they mama will get it, and that's not a knock to Weezy but this shyt is thought provoking...
some say jay z isn't in the hood, who in the hell would wanna go back to a environment full of trouble when your rich??the ones who say that never had or have big money.if i were a billionare id take my family away from where they are and put them all in mansions,i wouldn't stay in the hood just to please people who want you to be a certain way to please what they want.who are they?do they feed me?were they around?no no and no thankyou
@ seanshared87: PAC was dope, he rhymed, flowed & told stories with passion & from the heart, another great success story but the difference between PAC & Jay was that pac was talented beyond rap. Great rapper, great actor, great activist & speaker. Jay is a better business man, can convey his ideas & opinions well but but just isn't as vocal on the political stage (human rights) as PAC was.
@MyDeltron and thats jay's problem he got his business ideas from jewish businessmen...he's not warren buffet LOL! warren buffet is a philanthropist....jay is only looking out for jay.
@rockerborut oh no doubt Eminem is another success story & might I say 1 of the best to ever do it & 1 of my all time favorites. The differences between Em & Jay is their stories (roads to success). Em was just about to throw in the towel when Dre called for him, Jay, Dame & Bigg's said we'll make it happen ourselves. Both Dope Emcees.
& Mother Fuckers got the nerve to say Jay ain't the best. He ain't the best to ever do it because there will b others to follow & do it in their own fashion & right. But he is a best b cuz he succeeded @ his life in the Streets, surpassed that life, moved on to tell us the story & become a successful entertainer @ author. That makes him the best. There isn't another Rapper or MCEE that has come from such a low level & made it so high in life, Not 1. That dude is worth half a Billion Dollars rig
@MyDeltron is jay the only person to survive the streets and then succeed? so we celebrate jay because he supposedly succeeded at sellin dope in the streets? i never heard of jay being a big time drug dealer in brooklyn he was around the same time as Azie, pretty toney and rayful...jay wasnt ballin on the streets he was a mid level dope dealer he seen the same shit that most kids on the streets seen and he parlayed that into entertainment....now he's a sellout.
@MyDeltron do i smell dickrider? Your saying he lived at "such a low level"? He didn't even live the hood life. I've been to his part of new york. Have u ever heard of people like Christopher Wallace aka The Notorious B.I.G? Or Tupac Shakur? Biggie is from Bedstuy New York. He has been to jail, he's been shot at, and he selled drugs. Tupac was born in jail, didn't have a dad, and was on the hustle every day. Jay Z DID NOT hustle. He might have a great way of explaining it, but he didnt live hood
@TheHipHopArea1 oh shutup im sick of your ole ass cliche .... jay is a genius ... one of the best to ever do it ..and this abut jay z so take biggie and pacs dick out yah mouth .
