  • I want to buy an Irish Tenor Banjo, but I don't want to go buy one willy-nilly without doing some research. What's the best make for an Irish Tenor Banjo that's reasonably affordable, and if there is a website that will specialise in Banjo's.

Gibsons, Epiphones etc are too expensive for me.

  • sound tony id buy a good quality one that the sound would be good compare to a begineers one if your going to keep playing if you want to send me your number private mail il try help you dont think theirs much on websites cheers

  • Just a thought. i have played some gold tones and deering goodtimes that sound great and wont break the bank.

I should clarify that the above are solid long term investments and typically sell well below the msrp $400- $600 on the websites. Epiphones have some banjos available for $200 but are not nearly as good for a future serious player.

  • @TonyMcWatt Try the Gold Tone IT-250, Beautiful!!

  • @TonyMcWatt A clareen banjo is generally very good, try and google Clareen and find the website.
