  • i've seen this scene so many time times but i barely recognize the music because the sight of whats happening seems to drown out the other senses. like it's too much to process all at once.

  • @drwangenstein Too true. I've watched this sequence (both Asuka's battle and 02 going berserk) over and over again just to take it all in. There's all sorts of little details (Personally love the little swirl of dust and debris that appears when Asuka pulls the MP Eva out of the building and tosses it at another) that really make it rewarding to watch and rewatch.

  • what a composer :|

  • the photo from 2 .33 reminds me of toradora

  • poor asuka being shredded apart by those angels. this song only added to the harsh impact of that scene.

  • @th3azscorpio Those were Mass Produced Evas. :<

  • @ArwingAce48 whatever, they still shredded her apart

  • nice. I love the atmosphere it gives off. Even though original Evangelion wasn't made as intended, they still made it awesome anyway. The music is amazing especially because you dont really notice it very often: its more like atmospheric undertones than background music. cant wait for Rebuild to be finished and dubbed. I already got the first DVD -o-

  • For some reason this song was called "Passage of Darkness" of the wikipedia page, which made it a hell of a hassle to hunt down on youtube. I later found out that there's more than one video of this song on youtube, under it's Japanese name, "Munashiki Nagare". That's probably why you couldn't find it.

  • @Necrophilismia Ah, interesting. I figured it was probably uploaded under a romanized name, but all I had to go on was 'that nice piano song that plays after Air in EoE.' Hopefully comments like yours will help other people that have that same problem.

    Thanks for the comment. ^_^

  • @LegionsOfAnon I just went through EoE songs until I saw one the with 100 000+ views. It's such a good song, I'm in the process of working out the notes of the whole thing, hopefully for a piano + cello + violin + drums cover in the distant future. It's a shame I can't find any sheet music.

Hopefully your video helps a lot of people find this song on youtube now, as well, since someone on wikipedia has corrected the name (as well as added the Japanese translation).

  • @Necrophilismia

The phrase "munashiki nagare" has several translations. That's why there are so many different English names.
