  • Wow, it really sounds great. I have an argentinian vinyl pressing of Moving Waves, with a different cover art. Focus is a really amazing band!.

  • Hey Steve,

This vinyl here sound terrific dude! I still have an KENWOOD turntable, a 1978 model, I know, pretty old but still works for over 30 years! I have a lot of vinyl that sounds great, and some not. But do have several of vinyls that were made in Germany, but bought most of the vinyls here in the states. I can tell how important sound is to you, it does me also! They have started for the past couple of years now making vinyls now here in America.

  • Great post...I find it ironic that back in the early days of the compact disc,it was touted as THE best sound quality...But I beg to differ.

All the old classic albums of the 1960's and 70's were recorded in analogue(as far as I know)

Apparently, you can't transfer analogue onto digital...Hence,vinyl sounds better than compact disc...And if it wasn't for how easily old cassette tapes wear out and tangle up,they also were superior in sound than CD.

  • Thanks. I use Audacity on a Mac.

  • Perfect sound!

which software do you use ?

  • It's actually a belt drive Sherwood PM-8550 that I bought about 10 years ago but I have to admit it is, and has been, an exceptionally good player. As for the 2M Black - I wish! The lighting is a bit dark but it is a 2M Red. I bought it to replace the cart that came with deck when I started collecting again a little while ago. It made a huge difference to the sound and has breathed new life into the deck.

I will be getting a Pro-Ject Xpression III for Christmas for digitising.

  • That is a great sound, indeed. The deck to me looks like a pioneer DD, and is that a 2M Black I spy? The drum solo bits on this record, which I've never heard, by the way, are incredibly solid. Overall the speed stability is amazing. Thanks for posting!

  • It is great fun isn't it ;-)

  • I've been rockin' to this kick-butt jam ever since it came out. One of my all-time favs. On the Sire label in the U.S., I also have this LP.
