One of the biggest mistakes credit repair companies make is trying to dispute a tax lien when you owe money for back taxes. The reason is you could be under the radar, once the dispute gets sent in the credit bureaus will try to verify it with the IRS or the State and if you own money to these agencies you can find yourself in a big trouble, by getting your bank account levied or your paychecks garnished
@CREDITREPAIRMASTER That's incorrect. The tax lien is filed with the county clerk. That's who the CRA's will contact for verification. The county clerk will only check to see if a lien is filed (if they do anything at all). They won't actually contact the IRS.
@CREDITREPAIRMASTER I had many clients that tried to dispute a tax lien and were hit with garnishments, I am talking from experience that I have seen myself, this also goes for credit companies, after the dispute was sent in the law suites were field for owing money to the creditors. I am not saying you cant get it off but I would not risk it. Maybe you know a better way
@just4funzees The FCRA allowed you to respond to inaccurate data, but it wasn't until FACTA that the bureaus were forced to give consumers 1 free credit report a year for the purpose of monitoring it for inaccuracies.

Are you forgetting about the FCRA of 1971?
That was when you were granted the right to access your consumer credit file.
Not the FACT Act that was an ammendment of sorts
