  • @dillybar1997 yes thank you lol, so many guys here have told me about it.

  • the WORST sound you could possibly hear on a fire call...

  • Comment removed

  • i like msa better

  • I love hearing the PASS audible with a late night working fire in the background.

  • What brand is that pass alarm

  • I remember that 2nd sound when the wtc collapsed

I was 6 years old and wondering what is this

    Sound

  • @1cipheradam me too, that sound is burned in my brain forever... every time i think of 9/11 thats what i think of is that sound.

  • What's the 2nd alarm that went off called?

  • Wow....this brings back memories from the academy

  • our department has MSA airpacks and all their pass devices SUCK, You can be pulling a ceiling, venting a roof and they still go off, Nothing worse than 3or4 packs sounding off at same time for no reason. Drives me crazy

  • @Dynasty the Department that I just got with just bought 110 new Scott NXGN-07's but we use MSA's for training, we call them Surprise air's and HATE them, and the regulators... The regulators with them can be dangerous, as where the Scott's just quarter turn, and you're totally done.

  • GO MAPLEWOOD FDP!

  • @MrBradfordwill we had some one come in and fix five of the 2 couldn't get air and 3 the pass would turn off and he hooked them up to a computer and said there is nothing wrong with them then we did search and rescue drill with different ones and another one wouldn't give air idk what its gonna take for us to get Scotts like everyone wants and I really don't see why you hook an SCBA up to a damn computer that don't make any sense to me

  • Our department has seprian air.....

They fucking suck!! Not even a month and 4 don't work and half the time you can't turn them off and you could be pulling hose or doing jumping jacks and the pass will go off

  • @JohnnyBoyXD89 There are a few lawsuits against Seprian and their PASS devices and also their masks. They are reported to have failed on a couple of STL City firefighters back in the early 2000's.

  • Only God knows how many lives this device has saved on 9/11.

  • How much does a SCBA typically weigh?

  • @ullyis at the department that i vol. at. I weighed it at about 40 lbs with the tank, plus the frame pack that it mounts into.

  • The sound of the PASS Alarm is to alert other firefighters that there may be a man/woman down. Meaning that if you stop moving for a certain amount of time, the alarm will sound.

  • Hey man thats an awesome demo! I have that downloaded to my phone as a ringtone. keep um coming brother!

  • Dräger air packs all day

  • That thing saved my friend's life.

  • @Futurefirefighter99 its nice to hear someone say that. That is what the pass alarm is ment for

  • i work for more then 1 dept, and 1 use scott the other use msa. they both or good but i like scott better. msa mask not as good as scott

  • my buddies dept use survive air aka surprise air we use scott i love scott his dept are now feelin the affects of not using a great scba company

  • i like the MSA's better

  • We use Scotts at my vollie department and MSA packs at my paid. Both have their benefits and detriments but over all I prefer Scott.

  • @dynastar666 what does the sound mean?.. i know it means a pass alarm but what does the pass alarm means?

  • @jasonbsa

"PASS device is an acronym for Personal Alert Safety System, a personal safety device used primarily by firefighters entering a hazardous IDLH environment such as a burning building, which sounds a loud audible alert to notify others in the area that the firefighter is in distress."

  • @dynastar666 if the firefighter stops moving for about 20 seconds there is a warning alarm. (which is why when the warning alarm goes off you see people shaking there butts to stop the alarm). afer that is the loud obnoxious alarm

  • @dynastar666 I just took day 1 of Mod 1 and i just learned that today :) but i didnt hear the part of what IDLH means

  • @sirstanley09 It's an OSHA abbreviation for "immediate danger to life or health."

  • @dynastar666 I was just gonna reply to him when I saw u already beat me to that one too :P

  • @sirstanley09 I wouldn't even worry about airpacks yet then,

  • When you dont move for a certain amount of time it will go off. If you pass out etc.

  • @jasonbsa the sound means youve been standing still for too long and to tell you to move or shake the meter.

  • @PTVFCJunior your definition is wrong, pass alarm is an alarm to tell if a firefighter is down.. otherwise your definition of a pass alarm will be in the outside or if your okay.

  • @jasonbsa but its saying you're not moving. so im right in a way.

  • @kameronbc21 Yea in Chicago we used to have Scott but after 9/11 we switched to the Msa firehawk the msa is indeed better.

  • @kameronbc21 I much prefer the MSA packs as well. The design of the packs is better and you get a lot more with them as well.

  • u didn't have to wait, u coulda pressed the manual

  • We're trained to see if the pack does a full wind-up during truck checks.

  • Whenever we check packs we make sure they go through all the functions.

  • we used to have msa at or sation now we have dragger on the engine just waiting on geting a grant to replace the ones on the tanker

  • i like the msa air packs for some reason

  • we have ISI packs

  • Do you know where I can just get the sound effects of the Scott SCBA? I think the sound is so cool.

  • you could copy them from this video :)

  • Are Scott click in or do you have to screw the tank in? We use Drager at my FD and they are good but they take time screwing in and off.

  • It depends on which model you have. With the Scott pack in the video you need to screw the hose on but in the newest Scott packs you click in.

  • I guess that the next generation in SCBA with these new click in bottles can really take minutes off changing bottles at a fire.

  • Yeah, its much quicker but changing out a screw in bottle only takes 20 second or so.

  • I mean donning the whole thing. Having to take it off and screw in another bottle and go back in. I think after the first bottle you would be somewhat tired. But hey I still am new at Firefighting I won't be like FDNY or LAFD for a long time yet.

  • Ahh yes. Switching it Solo does still take time but I usually have a buddy swap mine and vise versa.

  • Yeah same, I think it's time for my firehouse to get new ones though because ours are almost 10 years old.

  • @RBFF123

at FDNY they have guys who specifically do just bottles. can take off the old one and screw on the new one in just seconds. its truly amazing to watch them work.

  • not really i thhink its easier insted of takeing the strp off screwing the hose off uncliping it then then pulling it out i think its easier to just un strap pull the pins then slid the bottle up

  • Thanks smartass.

  • I love the sound of the pass. But how would I copy the sounds from the video like you suggested?

  • if you give me your email i can send you the soundand you can record it onto your phone

  • pretty cool, we have the same packs at our station.

  • Nice video

  • Thanks.
